339 The Praise of Moab’s Descendants

I

Moab’s descendants are weeping in refinement.

On the yellow faces are sorrowful tears.

In the black eyes are quivers of fear.

With tears, I give up the flesh to be burnt by the judgment.

Moab’s descendants are weeping in refinement.

The merciless judgment has cast me into hell.

Anguish seizes me and chastisement comes to me.

In the trial I grope for Your presence.

In utter despair, I hate myself even more in my heart.

I believe in You but don’t belong to You; it’s a tragedy.

I can only howl mournfully in remorse.

The trial of the furnace is refining my heart.

II

I’m unworthy to be called a man, as I have no right to control myself.

Even if You reject me, I won’t feel ashamed to love You.

Though You refuse my love, I’ll still love You.

Moab’s descendant as I am, my love for You remains.

So many people are seeking to understand Your will.

So many people are longing to love You to the utmost.

So many people are preparing to lay down their lives to satisfy You.

So many people are trying to finally repay Your love.

Moab’s descendants are weeping in refinement.

The intent to receive blessings is lost in the wrath.

The corrupt flesh is reduced to ashes in the burning.

The remorseful tears are wiped away in silence.

Moab’s descendants are weeping in refinement.

Moab’s descendants are weeping in refinement.
