The majority of people believe: God is merciful and loving. God wants to save everyone. He does not want to leave anyone behind. If this is the case, why do you selectively spread the gospel?

Relevant Bible Verses:

For many are called, but few are chosen” (Mat 22:14).

The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way” (Mat 13:24-25). “And in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather you together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into My barn” (Mat 13:30). “So shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth His angels, and they shall gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth” (Mat 13:40-42). “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like to a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth” (Mat 13:47-50).

Relevant Words of God:

The mercy and tolerance of God do indeed exist, but God’s holiness and righteousness when He unleashes His wrath also show man the side of God that brooks no offense. When man is fully capable of obeying the commands of God and acts in accordance with God’s requirements, God is abundant in His mercy toward man; when man has been filled with corruption, hatred and enmity for Him, God is profoundly angry. And to what extent is He profoundly angry? His wrath will keep on until God no longer sees man’s resistance and evil deeds, until they are no longer before His eyes. Only then will God’s anger disappear. In other words, no matter who the person is, if their heart has become distant from God, and turned away from God, never to return, then regardless of how, to all appearances or in terms of their subjective desires, they wish to worship and follow and obey God in their body or in their thinking, as soon as their heart turns away from God, God’s wrath will be unleashed without cease. It will be such that when God deeply unleashes His anger, having given man ample opportunities, once it is unleashed there will be no way of taking it back, and He will never again be merciful and tolerant of such man. This is one side of God’s disposition that tolerates no offense. … He is tolerant and merciful toward things that are kind, and beautiful, and good; toward things that are evil, and sinful, and wicked, He is profoundly wrathful, such that He is unceasing in His wrath. These are the two principal and most prominent aspects of God’s disposition, and, moreover, they have been revealed by God from beginning to end: abundant mercy and profound wrath.

In His final work of concluding the age, God’s disposition is one of chastisement and judgment, in which He reveals all that is unrighteous, in order to publicly judge all peoples, and to perfect those who love Him with a sincere heart. Only a disposition such as this can bring the age to an end. The last days have already arrived. All things in creation will be classed according to their kind, and divided into different categories based on their nature. This is the moment when God reveals humanity’s outcome and their destination. If people do not undergo chastisement and judgment, then there will be no way of exposing their disobedience and unrighteousness. Only through chastisement and judgment can the outcome of all creation be revealed. Man only shows his true colors when he is chastised and judged. Evil shall be put with evil, good with good, and all humanity shall be classified according to their kind. Through chastisement and judgment, the outcome of all creation will be revealed, so that the evil may be punished and the good rewarded, and all people become subject to the dominion of God. All this work must be achieved through righteous chastisement and judgment. Because man’s corruption has reached its peak and his disobedience become exceedingly severe, only God’s righteous disposition, one that is principally compounded of chastisement and judgment and is revealed during the last days, can fully transform and complete man. Only this disposition can expose evil and thus severely punish all the unrighteous. Therefore, a disposition such as this is imbued with the significance of the age, and the revelation and exhibition of His disposition is made manifest for the sake of the work of each new age. It is not that God reveals His disposition arbitrarily and without significance. Supposing that, in revealing the outcome of man during the last days, God were still to bestow upon man infinite compassion and love and continue to be loving toward him, not subjecting man to righteous judgment but rather showing him tolerance, patience, and forgiveness, and pardoning man no matter how grave his sins, without any jot of righteous judgment: then when would all of God’s management ever be brought to a close? When would a disposition such as this be able to lead people into mankind’s appropriate destination? Take, for example, a judge who is always loving, a judge with a kindly face and a gentle heart. He loves people irrespective of the crimes they may have committed, and he is loving to and forbearing with them whoever they may be. In that case, when will he ever be able to reach a just verdict? During the last days, only righteous judgment can classify man according to their kind and bring man into a new realm. In this way, the entire age is brought to an end through God’s righteous disposition of judgment and chastisement.

Excerpted from “The Vision of God’s Work (3)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh

Those who are able to stand firm during God’s work of judgment and chastisement during the last days—that is, during the final work of cleansing—will be those who will enter into the final rest with God; therefore, those who enter into rest will all have broken free of Satan’s influence and been obtained by God only after having undergone His final cleansing work. These people who have been ultimately obtained by God will enter into the final rest. The essence of God’s work of chastisement and judgment is to cleanse humanity, and it is for the day of final rest. Otherwise, the whole of humanity will not be able to follow their own kind or enter into rest. This work is humanity’s only path to enter into rest. Only God’s work of cleansing will cleanse humanity of their unrighteousness, and only His work of chastisement and judgment will bring to light those disobedient things among humanity, thereby separating those who can be saved from those who cannot, and those who will remain from those who will not. When His work ends, those people who remain will be cleansed and enjoy a more wonderful second human life upon the earth as they enter a higher realm of humanity; in other words, they will enter into humanity’s day of rest and live together with God. After those who cannot remain have undergone chastisement and judgment, their original forms will be entirely revealed; after this they will all be destroyed and, like Satan, will no longer be allowed to survive upon the earth. The humanity of the future will no longer contain any of this type of people; these people are not fit to enter the land of the ultimate rest, nor are they fit to enter the day of rest that God and man will share, for they are the targets of punishment and are the wicked, and they are not righteous people. They had been redeemed once, and they had also been judged and chastised; they had also once rendered service to God, but when the final day comes, they will still be eliminated and destroyed because of their own wickedness and because of their own disobedience and irredeemability. They will no longer exist upon the world of the future, and they will no longer exist among the human race of the future. Any and all evildoers and any and all who have not been saved will be destroyed when the holy among humanity enter into rest, regardless of whether they are the spirits of the dead or those who still live in the flesh. Regardless of what era to which these evildoing spirits and evildoing people, or the spirits of righteous people and those people who do righteousness belong, any evildoers will be destroyed, and any righteous people will survive.

Those who are against Me are those who are not compatible with Me. So too are those who do not love the truth, and those who rebel against Me are even more against Me and incompatible with Me. All those who are not compatible with Me I deliver into the hands of the evil one. I relinquish them to the corruption of the evil one, give them free rein to reveal their maleficence, and ultimately hand them over to the evil one to be devoured. I care not how many people worship Me, which is to say, I care not how many people believe in Me. All that concerns Me is how many people are compatible with Me. That is because all those who are not compatible with Me are evil ones who betray Me; they are My enemies, and I shall not “enshrine” My enemies in My home. Those who are compatible with Me shall forever serve Me in My home, and those who place themselves in enmity of Me shall forever suffer My punishment.

You must know what kind of people I desire; those who are impure are not permitted to enter into the kingdom, those who are impure are not permitted to besmirch the holy ground. Though you may have done much work, and have worked for many years, in the end if you are still deplorably filthy—it is intolerable to the law of Heaven that you wish to enter My kingdom! From the foundation of the world until today, never have I offered easy access to My kingdom to those who curry favor with Me. This is a heavenly rule, and no one can break it! You must seek life. Today, those who will be made perfect are the same kind as Peter: They are those who seek changes in their own disposition, and are willing to bear testimony to God and perform their duty as a creature of God. Only people such as this will be made perfect. If you only look to rewards, and do not seek to change your own life disposition, then all your efforts will be in vain—and this is an unalterable truth!

Sermon and Fellowship Excerpts for Reference:

During the Age of Grace, there was a word that said, “God wants to save everyone. He does not want to leave anyone behind.” Many religious people say that “everyone” includes each and every person in the world. This is wrong. This is a misinterpretation of God’s word. In reality, “everyone” refers to those that God has predestined. It is those who have the spirit of a human being. God has predestined and selected those who have the spirit of a human being. God will not abandon a single one of these people. Only those who have the spirit of a human being belong to the human race. Those without the spirit of a human being do not belong to the human race. They are not humans. From God’s perspective, they are dead people. Do you understand this word now? That is why when you read God’s words, you must understand God’s will and you must understand what God’s words are referring to. You must not interpret God’s words based on man’s conceptions. If you rely on man’s conceptions when reading God’s words, it is very easy to misinterpret God’s words. The consequences of misinterpreting God’s words are that it becomes easy to resist and betray God. When man’s way of thinking conflicts with God’s words, man will frequently impose his own understanding onto God. God does not recognize this and as a result, man ends up resisting God.

When God’s family spreads the gospel, why do you think they do not spread it to those whose caliber is too poor and those who cannot understand the truth? The main reason is that they are unable to experience God’s work. What does “unable to experience God’s work” mean? The work that God does is the work of salvation. If someone is unable to understand God’s words, how can he experience God’s work? That is why this kind of people will be unable to receive God’s salvation. For man to believe in God and attain salvation, at the minimum, they must possess one thing. They must possess a certain caliber. When they receive God’s words, they must be able to understand it. They must understand, regardless of how God enlightens, illuminates or speaks. They must possess this caliber. This is the minimum requirement for experiencing God’s work. That is why those whose caliber is overly poor are unable to experience God’s work. As such, we will not spread the gospel to them. God uses words to save man. He relies on words to save man. In order to attain salvation, one must at the very least possess the caliber of understanding God’s words. If one does not have this caliber, one will not be saved by God. What use is it if you drag them to God’s family? Isn’t this just wasting time? Would you say that not spreading the gospel to those whose caliber is overly poor is a regulation? This is not a regulation. It will not work if their caliber is overly poor. Therefore, the provisions of God’s family are not regulations. They are in keeping with the principles of the truth and they have a basis. They are not drivel.

Man is a creation. Man was created by God. Man is the target of God’s salvation. Of course, amongst mankind, there are some who have not been preselected by God. There are some who are not targets of God’s salvation. These people are objects for extermination. They are not genuine human beings. What differences are there between those who are not genuine human beings and those who are targets of God’s salvation? They do not have human spirits. They all have the spirits of beasts, the spirits of the devil Satan and all kinds of evil spirits. There is a saying that goes, “dressed up animal.” What is the meaning of this saying? It means that this person, externally, looks like a human being. He has clothed himself with human flesh but inside, he does not have a human spirit. Inside, there are the evil spirits and the spirits of beasts. This is what the saying means. Are there lots of these people? (There are lots.) Look, each and every member of the corrupt human race resists God. All those who do not believe in God belong to this group of humans. They are all beasts.

Those who pursue the truth have humanity. Those who do not pursue the truth do not have humanity. What kind of reaction do those who do not pursue the truth have once they have finished listening to a sermon? They are bored of the truth. They feel that they cannot go on. They are not interested in the truth. The more they listen to the true way, the less energy they have. The more they listen to the true way, the less interested they are in it. In the end, they withdraw. There are some people who, after listening to the true way, they complain, they scold and they are jealous of those who pursue the truth. What kind of issue is this? It indicates that they do not have humanity. “Without humanity” is an expression of man. Why do they not have humanity? It is because they do not have a human spirit inside them. If they do not have a human spirit, how can they have humanity? Those who do not have a human spirit definitely do not have humanity, because humanity is generated from a human spirit. Now we are all clear about the fact that in this world, there are all sorts of evil spirits and animal spirits that reincarnate. Let’s take the example of a family that has given birth to a child. In the spirit world, it will know what was reincarnated. Externally, the child looks like a human. However, the spirit inside is different. Some people have animal spirits or evil spirits within. Some people have human spirits within. Those with human spirits within are real humans. Those without human spirits are dressed up animals. They are not human. Presently, within this world, are there many who are truly human beings? There are not a lot. However, we cannot tell. Only God knows. The Bible says: God wants to save every man. He does not want to leave anyone behind. What does this “man” refer to? It refers to real human beings. It does not include those dressed up animals.

69. Why doesn’t the Lord’s return in the last days involve appearing to man and doing His work in a spiritual body?

“God of the last days principally uses the word to make man perfect. He does not use signs and wonders to oppress man, or convince man; this cannot make plain the power of God. If God only showed signs and wonders, then it would be impossible to make plain the reality of God, and thus impossible to make man perfect. God does not make man perfect by signs and wonders, but uses the word to water and shepherd man..."
