155 God’s Flesh and the Spirit Are Identical in Essence
Chorus
It’s God’s own flesh that His Spirit wears.
Both the Spirit of God and His flesh
are holy and almighty,
they are supreme and righteous. Oh.
Verse 1
This flesh can only do what benefits man,
do what is holy, righteous, and mighty.
His actions could never betray God’s Spirit,
nor violate truth, justice or morality.
Pre-chorus 1
God’s Spirit is holy, Satan can’t corrupt His flesh.
God’s own flesh and man’s are of a different essence.
Chorus
It’s God’s own flesh that His Spirit wears.
Both the Spirit of God and His flesh
are holy and almighty,
they are supreme and righteous. Oh.
Verse 2
Satan can corrupt man, but never God’s own flesh.
So although Christ and man share the same space,
man is occupied, used, trapped by the evil one,
while Christ is immune to corruption from Satan.
Pre-chorus 2
For the highest place will be always out of Satan’s reach,
and to God it will never be able to draw near.
Chorus
It’s God’s own flesh that His Spirit wears.
Both the Spirit of God and His flesh
are holy and almighty,
they are supreme and righteous. Oh.
