830 Be Witnesses Like Job and Peter

Verse 1

You may say you are conquered,

but can you obey unto death?

You must follow to the end

regardless of your prospects.

Chorus

You must not lose your faith,

no matter the environment,

no matter what goes on around you.

Be like Job, obedient till death.

Be like Peter, with supreme love for God.

Verse 2

You must be like Job.

When poor and pained in the flesh,

he never forsook the name of Jehovah.

You must be like Peter, loving God till death,

even on the cross until his last breath.

Chorus

You must not lose your faith,

no matter the environment,

no matter what goes on around you.

Be like Job, obedient till death.

Be like Peter, with supreme love for God.

Bridge 1

Peter thought not on what the future would bring,

his glorious hopes, extravagant thoughts,

sought only to love the God he served,

obeying all of His arrangements.

Chorus

You must not lose your faith,

no matter the environment,

no matter what goes on around you.

Be like Job, obedient till death.

Be like Peter, with supreme love for God.

Bridge 2

This is the standard that you must achieve

before you are considered to bear testimony.

Chorus

You must not lose your faith,

no matter the environment,

no matter what goes on around you.

Be like Job, obedient till death.

Be like Peter, with supreme love for God.
