912 No One Can Supersede God’s Authority

Verse 1

Before mankind appeared in the world,

God used His power to create all things.

With His unique ways, He made man’s habitat,

for soon He’d give His breath to him.

God’s authority was shown in all creatures,

in the great seas, heavens, lights, and the land,

in animals and birds, microbes and insects.

Chorus

When God, when God began the creation of all things,

His power began to be revealed.

God used His words to create and maintain all things.

Yes, this is His unique authority.

Verse 2

Each was given life and multiplied,

living under God’s sovereignty

because of His words.

God’s power gives life to static things,

so they’ll never disappear,

gives living beings the instinct to multiply,

so they’ll pass on their laws of survival.

Chorus

When God, when God began the creation of all things,

His power began to be revealed.

God used His words to create and maintain all things.

Yes, this is His unique authority.

Bridge

God’s power is not fixed to forms,

nor macro or micro views.

He commands the universe

and rules over life and death.

God moves all things to serve Him,

rules the water and the mountains.

He governs all within them,

providing for creation’s needs.

This shows God’s unique authority

amongst all besides mankind.

Not just for a lifetime, it will not cease.

No one, nothing can change or ruin it,

nor reduce or add to it.

For none can replace the Creator’s identity.

Chorus

When God, when God began the creation of all things,

His power began to be revealed.

God used His words to create and maintain all things.

Yes, this is His unique authority.
