985 Can Man Not Put Aside Their Flesh for This Short Time?

Verse 1

When the warmth of spring arrives

and the flowers start to blossom,

when everything beneath the heavens

is all covered in green,

when all things on earth are in place,

then all people and things shall enter

slowly into God’s chastisement,

and at that time, all of God’s work

on the earth will come to an end.

Pre-refrain

God shall no longer work or live on earth,

for His great work will have been accomplished.

Refrain

Are people incapable

of putting aside their flesh for this short time?

Verse 2

What can cleave love between man and God?

Who can pull that same love apart?

Is it parents? Is it husbands?

Sisters, wives, or painful refinement?

Can the feelings of conscience

wipe away God’s image within man?

Are people’s indebtedness and actions

towards each other their own doing?

Can they be remedied by man?

Refrain

Are people incapable

of putting aside their flesh for this short time?

Verse 3

Who is able to protect themselves?

Can people provide for themselves?

Who are the strong ones in life?

Who can leave God and live on their own?

Why does God repeatedly ask

people to work on self-reflection?

And further, why does God say,

“Whose hardship has been arranged,

arranged by their own hand?”

Refrain

Are people incapable

of putting aside their flesh for this short time?

Are people incapable

of putting aside their flesh for this short time?
