Five Signs of Entry Onto the Right Track of Belief in God

Signs of Entry Onto the Right Track of Belief in God

What does entry onto the right track of belief in God refer mainly to? It refers to the beginning of one’s entry into the reality of God’s word. The person who enters into the reality of God’s word has a path of practice and knows how to live on His word. He is clear that only when man lives on God’s word can he be a person with the truth and humanity. Only such a person has truly entered onto the right track. If he does not know how to carry out and experience God’s word when he encounters problems after having eaten and drunk His words for a few years, if he still does not know how to live on God’s word, he has not entered onto the right track in his belief in God. There are five main manifestations of one having entered into God’s word, and they are the signs of having entered onto the right track in belief in God. What are the five results of having entered into God’s word?

The first is the result that has to be achieved by accepting the judgment and chastisement of God’s word. This is the first result. A certain result has to be achieved by experiencing the judgment and chastisement of God’s word. For example: If someone asks you, “How does God’s work in the last days judge man?” If you do not know, it means that you have not experienced God’s judgment and chastisement. You say, “God judges and chastises man with His word.” And someone asks again, “How much have you experienced the judgment and chastisement of God’s word?” This is a practical question. If you can cite a few experiences and have attained a true understanding of God’s word, and you feel that His word is indeed the truth, the way and the life, the foundation of human existence, this means that you have experienced and understood God’s judgment and chastisement. Which words of God have you now come to experience and know? Which words of judgment and chastisement did you feel were directed precisely at judging you, that accurately revealed who you are, that revealed your corrupt substance, that revealed the truth of your corruption? Did these words of God, like a double-edged sword, pierce through your heart, causing you so much pain that you wished you were dead, and in the end you truly reflected on yourself through these words of God and came to know your corrupt substance? If you are able to talk about these kinds of actual experiences, it means that you have truly received God’s judgment and chastisement. Nowadays, there are many people who have believed in God for many years, who have read some of the words of God and who have listened to some sermons. However, it seems to them as though the words of God are simply judging other people, that they have nothing to do with them, or that only some of God’s words apply to them. “I think I have this corruption too. I feel like I also have such problems.” Do you think that such knowledge of God’s words is qualified? It proves then that you have not truly received God’s judgment and chastisement. When you read a paragraph of God’s words of judgment and chastisement, why do you not relate your own states to them? Why can you not receive God’s judgment and chastisement from your heart? Why can you not receive God’s judgment and chastisement of you? Why do you just read them as if they were simply ordinary words of God and nothing more? There is a problem with the way you treat the word of God. If you truly accepted God’s words of judgment and chastisement, you would treasure the words of God. You would say: “Wow, all of God’s words of judgment and chastisement are directed at me. Every word that reveals the corrupt substance of mankind and every word that expresses the truth is judgment and chastisement directed at me. The word of God is so precious. The word of God can change me, the word of God can transform me, and the word of God can perfect me.” If you eat and drink the word of God in this way, if you accept it this way, then how could you still worry about not changing? How could you still worry about not being able to know yourself? How could you still worry about not being able to make a fresh start? There are people now who eat and drink the word of God but who are unable to relate it to their own corrupt states. They do not feel that the word of God judges and chastises corrupt mankind, and neither do they feel that it is the most precious. They eat and drink the word of God just as a formality. It seems to them that God’s words of judgment are all directed at other people, and that only His words of blessings are directed at themselves. Do you all think that they would be able to come to know themselves by eating and drinking God’s word from this point of view? Of course not. Nowadays, there are many people who always feel that they’re pretty good. They are haughty and arrogant, obey no one, always want to stand higher than everyone else and always have the tendency to want to lead others. Has this kind of person undergone God’s judgment and chastisement? How could they still be so arrogant if they had actually undergone God’s judgment and chastisement? How could they still be unwilling to submit to anyone? How could their life disposition still be so corrupt? They would have started to keep a low profile long ago, or, in the words of nonbelievers, they would “live with their tails between their legs.” How, then, can we solve our corrupt disposition? Only through accepting the judgment and chastisement of God can our corrupt disposition be solved. Only then can our life disposition be changed. This point ought to be clear. So, when you put time and energy into believing in God, where should you concentrate your efforts? You must open yourself up to the word of God and accept His judgment and chastisement. You must receive God’s judgment and chastisement honestly and truly. You must receive God’s pruning and dealing and situate yourself within the word of God and lay yourself before Him. Do not situate yourself outside of the word of God, as though God’s words of judgment and chastisement are all directed at other people and have nothing to do with you. Only by receiving the judgment and chastisement of God can we come to truly know the work of God, to truly understand all the truths expressed by God, and to achieve true obedience to God. Therefore, those who accepted the judgment and chastisement of God’s word and have practical experience are people who have truly entered onto the right track of belief in God. This is the first sign.

The second is not complaining, not betraying God, being able to seek the truth and standing witness when encountering various trials. This is a sign of entering onto the right track in belief in God. An understanding of God’s work is required for entry onto the right track in belief in God. God uses judgment, chastisement and various trials and refinements to cleanse and perfect man. Anyone who has gone through God’s judgment and chastisement and experienced the various trials and refinements has no complaints and would be able to submit to God and stand witness. He thus neither complains against nor betrays God and is able to seek the truth and stand witness when he encounters trials. Such is a person who has truly entered onto the right track in belief in God. Man has to encounter many trials and refinements in believing in God, especially for a person who seeks to be perfected. Such a person has to go through hundreds of trials. How many trials have you gone through in your belief in God? Each of us has to reflect on this. How many trials have you gone through? What is called a trial? Anything that does not conform to your conceptions and causes your flesh to suffer can be called a trial. Whether it is Satan’s temptation or natural disasters or diseases, anything that causes people to go through extreme suffering can be called a trial. Anything that challenges man’s will and puts him through the grind can be called a trial. Some people encounter natural disasters at home, and that is a trial; some people experience division in the family, and serious disputes arise in the family and they cannot live together in harmony and the family even breaks apart. This, too, is a trial. The occurrence of a severe illness that threatens life is even more a trial. Does anyone benefit from encountering such trials? Yes. The trials test man’s faith. They are a great challenge to man’s faith. Some people would feel during the trials that, “Do I still believe in God now?” It depends on how you choose. Some people chose family harmony and betrayed God as a result. Some people chose to satisfy and follow God. They would rather divorce and stand witness for God. Nothing reveals man’s faith more than trials! Someone encountered trials only a few days into believing in God but stood fast in the end. She did not understand the truth, but she felt, “This is God’s work. I must believe in Him. This is the real God. I must believe in Him even if someone in my family dies, my husband divorces me, I am abandoned by my children and I lose my job. I must believe no matter what.” It is shown clearly during a trial that man would be able to stand fast if he has true faith; he would betray and leave God easily if he doesn’t. Everyone has difficulties and things that hurt him. If you are one who truly believes in God, these things become the trials that show who you really are. Some people are defeated by Satan’s temptations. This is also them being exposed and disqualified. Some are confused by Satan and betray God in the end. This is also them being exposed and disqualified because of not having the truth. They are not equipped with any truth, and when Satan deceives him, he starts to doubt God’s work and betrays Him. Therefore, a person who truly knows the work of God would have true faith in Him. Such a person would be able to stand fast no matter what trials he meets. A sign of entry onto the right track in belief in God is seen when a person has gone through some trials and is able to stand fast through them. Some people are particularly enthusiastic before they encounter any trials, and nobody can tell how they would turn out when they encounter trials in future.

The third is being able to grasp God’s will in all things and know what He requires of man, to seek the truth in prayer and offer up true worship to Him. Such a person is one who has entered onto the right track in belief in God. He does not live on his own conceptions and believe in God by obeying rules and regulations. Rather he learns to grasp God’s will in all things, seeking the truth in prayer and truly worshiping Him. Is such a person living in religious rituals? No, he has broken free from the bondage of religious rituals and rules and regulations and has entered into the reality of God’s word. Therefore, a person who prays to and worships God truly, who does not stick to rules and regulations, has no conceptions and is able to seek the truth is one who is able to grasp God’s will. Being able to grasp God’s will is a real skill. Such a person is one who has entered onto the right track of belief in God.

The fourth is to be able to eat and drink, experience and practice God’s word and know the path of entry based on His word and the truth, knowing how to practice the truth without sticking to rules and regulations. This is a sign of entry onto the right track of belief in God. A person who has entered onto the right track of belief in God is one who knows how to eat and drink God’s word. He would do so at home whether or not he has a church life. He would eat and drink and practice God’s word even if he believes in God by himself. He would have the way to practice God’s word when he seeks and understands the truth, and such a person has entered onto the right track of belief in God. Now, take a look at yourselves. Have you been able to do this? Do you know how to eat and drink God’s word? How do you do so at home alone? Would you practice it if you understood some truth in God’s word? Do you know what is living on God’s word? Do you live by sticking to rules and regulations or by practicing His word? Tell me, how do you gauge if a person has the reality of God’s word? Can you tell if a person has the reality of God’s word from what he says and does? Are you able to discern? Many people know how to observe rules and regulations, but is the result of doing so living out the reality of God’s word? You would be able to discern it if you really know what living out the reality of God’s word is. A person who lives out the reality of God’s word does not simply practice based on the surface of God’s word. He must grasp the reality of and the truth in God’s word. Only such a person is able to live out the reality of God’s word. Thus, a person who practices the truth has the reality of God’s word. A person who does not practice the truth does not have the reality of God’s word. Many people know what to do about many things and how to obey rules and regulations. Is such a person living out the reality of God’s word? A person who obeys rules and regulations would become confused when he encounters problems. He does not know what practicing the truth is but only the simplest, the shallowest and most basic of what he should follow. You see, the most basic of what he should follow is usually rules and regulations. If he truly understands the truth, he would know how to practice it. He would know how to practice it to observe the principle of practice. A person who truly understands the truth is able to define the principles of practicing the truth when he does so. He would then have ways to practice the truth. Whoever knows how to experience God’s word knows how to seek the truth and knows the ways of entry is one who has entered onto the right track. If a person does not understand the truth in God’s word and could only follow rules and regulations when he encounters problems, he has not entered onto the right track of belief in God. This is totally correct. Therefore, the fourth sign of entry onto the right track of belief in God is to be able to experience God’s word, to know how to seek the truth in His word and practice it, and not to stick to rules and regulations.

The fifth sign of entry onto the right track of belief in God is that as one has understood many truths, he finally sees clearly the true path of life, knows his corrupt substance and knows how he should submit to God’s work, walk on the right path of life and satisfy God in conducting himself, which is to be a truly honest person and be after God’s heart. Such a person is one who has truly entered onto the right track of belief in God. A person who has entered onto the right track of belief in God surely has real experiences in living as an honest person. He is able to be honest in many things. He achieves results in living as an honest person, and this is a true change in the life disposition. The change in the life disposition is that you are at least an honest person. If a person is quite crooked and deceitful and causes people around and close to him to doubt him and not be able to see through him, is he an honest person? If people around him doubt him and close to him say he is not honest and is indeed somewhat deceitful, he has failed in his belief in God. Can you understand if I put it this way? What kind of person are you at home? Are you actually an honest person in the eyes of your husband, children or wife? This is very important. If your own family are not convinced about you and say that you are not honest, “You haven’t changed much even after you have believed in God. You are still the same as before. All that has changed is that you have a set of doctrines on believing in God, that’s all.” If you heard that, do you think you have been a good witness? Your verdict has been delivered if this were said about you. You have believed in God in vain all these years. If your unbelieving family members at home accuse you of not being honest, that you have not changed much, how should you respond? Accept the criticism and reflect on it and compare yourself against the word of God. What else should you do? Repent before God quickly! You have to admit that you have failed in your belief in God. You have not been successful. You have to recognize that you have no reality despite having believed in God for so many years. What a shame this is to God! How did you believe in God in the past then? Only by paying lip service! You did not believe in your heart! You have to believe in God with your heart and not your mouth. What’s the point of making nice statements? You can deceive yourself but not others, not even your family members. Isn’t it so? Some people say, “Why is it that I’m not able to give testimonies in the meetings? Why is that I find it so difficult to do so when I talk about my experiences and give my testimonies? Why is it that I could only speak a few words? Let’s just make them up like the way we do in examinations.” What’s the point of making things up? Isn’t that deceiving yourself? Isn’t that deceit? What’s the use of believing in God only with your words? It is only true faith when you believe in your heart though it doesn’t look that way on the outside. If you do not pursue the truth in your heart and eat and drink God’s word even though you say that you believe, what’s the point of it all? It is useless even if people know that you believe in God. What’s the use because it doesn’t count in God’s eyes? What actually is believing in God? Do you think that deceiving with your words and spewing out some doctrines when you attend the meeting proves that you believe in God? It is useless how well you put them if you do not accept the truth. If you accept the truth, although you are clumsy with your words and not eloquent, God observes the depths of your heart and knows that you practice the truth and worship and submit to Him in your heart even though other people do not know. It will be useless even if others know. It is more important that God does. To believe in God is to satisfy Him. It’s no use even if you are able to say many things before man. Some people keep thinking, “When believing in God, I must work, be a leader as well as be able to preach. A person who can preach is surely a man of great faith.” Is that the right perspective? Being able to preach doesn’t necessarily mean the person has the reality. If you seek only your own interest like an unbeliever when you encounter situations, do you have God in your heart? You must seek the truth and pray to God in your heart when you encounter situations. Seeking the truth means finding out what to do to be after God’s heart in these situations and which words of God can be put into practice in such situations. You have to seek God’s words. You only truly believe in God when you fear God, come close to Him and submit to Him in your heart this way. If you eat and drink God’s word, pray to Him and sing praises to Him when nothing happens to you, but have absolutely nothing to do with God and think only about your own flesh when you encounter problems, is such a person one who believes in God? Such a person is an unbeliever. Therefore, one of the signs of having entered onto the right track of belief in God is that you have true entry and have a certain extent of the reality in being an honest person.

Using the five signs mentioned above to gauge whether a person has entered onto the right track would be the most accurate. Use them to gauge whether you have entered onto the right track now. Someone is not clear about what entering onto the right track of belief in God is, saying, “Do you calculate by the number of years? In that case, I should have entered onto the right track since I have believed for five or six years.” Somebody says, “I have believed for seven or eight years. I should have entered even further onto the right track.” Another says, “Have I actually entered onto the right track after having believed for two or three years? I’m not so sure.” We are clear now that whether you have entered onto the right track does not depend on how many years you have believed in God. Gauge yourselves using the five signs. If you have entered into, experienced and known all of them to some extent, you have exactly entered onto the right track of belief in God. Are you clear now?
