Sermons and Fellowship About God’s Word “How to Know the God on Earth” (III)

How to Know the God on Earth

You all wish to be rewarded before God and favored by God; everyone hopes for such things when they start believing in God, for everyone is preoccupied with the pursuit of higher things, and no one wants to fall behind others. This is just how people are. Precisely for this reason, many among you are constantly trying to curry favor with the God in heaven, yet in truth, your loyalty and candor toward God are far less than your loyalty and candor to yourselves. Why do I say this? Because I do not acknowledge your loyalty to God at all and, furthermore, because I deny the existence of the God that is in your hearts. Which is to say, the God that you worship, the vague God that you admire, does not exist at all. The reason I can say this so definitively is that you are too far from the true God. The reason for your loyalty is the idol within your hearts; as for Me, meanwhile, the God whom you look upon as neither great nor small, you merely acknowledge with words. When I say you are far from God, I mean that you are distant from the true God, while the vague God seems near at hand. When I say, “not great,” it is in reference to how the God that you believe in this day appears to merely be a person without great abilities, a person who is not very lofty. And when I say “not small,” this means that, although this person cannot summon the wind and command the rain, He is nonetheless able to call upon the Spirit of God to do work that shakes the heavens and earth, leaving people completely confounded. Outwardly, you all appear highly obedient to this Christ on earth, yet in substance, you do not have faith in Him, nor do you love Him. Which is to say, the one you truly believe in is that vague God of your own feelings, and the one you truly love is the God you yearn for night and day, yet have never seen in person. Toward this Christ, your faith is but fractional, and your love nothing. Faith means belief and trust; love means adoration and admiration in one’s heart, never parting. Yet your faith in and love of the Christ of today fall far short of this. When it comes to faith, how do you have faith in Him? When it comes to love, in what way do you love Him? You have simply no understanding of His disposition, still less do you know His substance, so how do you have faith in Him? Where is the reality of your faith in Him? How do you love Him? Where is the reality of your love for Him?

Many have followed Me without hesitation to this day. So, too, have you suffered much fatigue over the past several years. The innate character and habits of each of you I have grasped with crystal clarity; interacting with every one of you has been tremendously arduous. The pity is that, though I have grasped much about you, you understand nothing of Me. No wonder people say you fell for someone’s trick during a moment of confusion. Indeed, you understand nothing of My disposition, much less can you fathom what is in My mind. Today, your misunderstandings about Me are snowballing, and your faith in Me remains a confused faith. Instead of saying that you have faith in Me, it would be more apt to say that you are all trying to curry favor with Me and toady up to Me. Your motives are very simple: I will follow whoever can reward me, and I will believe in whoever allows me to escape the great disasters, whether he be God or any certain God. None of this is of any concern to me. There are many such people among you, and this state is very serious. If, one day, there were a test of how many among you had faith in Christ because of insight into His substance, then I am afraid that not a single one of you would be satisfactory to Me. So it would not hurt for each of you to consider this question: The God you believe in is vastly different from Me, and this being so, what then is the essence of your faith in God? The more you believe in your so-called God, the further you stray from Me. What, then, is the essence of this issue? It’s certain that none of you has ever considered such a question, but has the gravity of it occurred to you? Have you given thought to the consequences of continuing to believe in this way?

Today, you face many issues, and not one of you is adept at problem-solving. Should this situation continue, the only ones who stand to lose are yourselves. I will help you to identify the issues, but solving them is up to you.

I take pleasure in those who are not suspicious of others, and I like those who readily accept the truth; toward these two kinds of people I show great care, for in My eyes they are honest people. If you are deceitful, then you will be guarded and suspicious toward all people and matters, and thus your faith in Me will be built upon a foundation of suspicion. I could never acknowledge such faith. Lacking true faith, you are even more devoid of true love. And if you are liable to doubt God and speculate about Him at will, then you are, without question, the most deceitful of all people. You speculate whether God can be like man: unpardonably sinful, of petty character, devoid of fairness and reason, lacking a sense of justice, given to vicious tactics, treacherous and cunning, pleased by evil and darkness, and so on. Is not the reason that people have such thoughts because they lack the slightest knowledge of God? Such faith is nothing short of sin! There are even some who believe that the ones who please Me are precisely those who flatter and bootlick, and that those lacking in such skills will be unwelcome in the house of God and will lose their place there. Is this the only knowledge you have acquired after all these years? Is this what you have gained? And your knowledge of Me does not stop at these misunderstandings; even worse is your blasphemy against God’s Spirit and vilification of Heaven. This is why I say that such faith as yours will only cause you to stray further from Me and be in greater opposition against Me. Throughout many years of work, you have seen many truths, but do you know what My ears have heard? How many among you are willing to accept the truth? You all believe you are willing to pay the price for the truth, but how many of you have truly suffered for the truth? There is nothing but unrighteousness in your hearts, which makes you think that everyone, no matter who they are, is equally deceitful and crooked—to the point that you even believe that God incarnate could, like a normal person, be without a kind heart or benevolent love. More than that, you believe that a noble character and a merciful, benevolent nature exist only within the God in heaven. You believe that such a saint does not exist, that only darkness and evil reign on earth, while God is something with which people entrust their longing for the good and beautiful, a legendary figure fabricated by them. In your minds, the God in heaven is very upstanding, righteous, and great, worthy of worship and admiration; this God on earth, meanwhile, is but a substitute, and an instrument, of the God in heaven. You believe this God could not be the equal of the God in heaven, much less be mentioned in the same breath as Him. When it comes to the greatness and honor of God, they belong to the glory of the God in heaven, but when it comes to the nature and the corruption of man, they are attributes in which the God on earth has a part. The God in heaven is eternally lofty, while the God on earth is forever insignificant, weak, and incompetent. The God in heaven is not given to emotion, only righteousness, while the God on earth only has selfish motives and is without any fairness or reason. The God in heaven has not the slightest crookedness and is forever faithful, while the God on earth always has a dishonest side. The God in heaven loves man dearly, while the God on earth shows man inadequate care, even neglecting him entirely. This erroneous knowledge has long been kept within your hearts and may also be perpetuated in the future. You regard all deeds of Christ from the standpoint of the unrighteous and evaluate all His work, as well as His identity and substance, from the perspective of the wicked. You have made a grave mistake and done that which has never been done by those coming before you. That is, you serve only the lofty God in heaven with a crown upon His head, and never attend to the God whom you regard as so insignificant that He is invisible to you. Is this not your sin? Is this not a classic example of your offense against the disposition of God? You worship the God in heaven. You adore lofty images and esteem those distinguished for their eloquence. You are gladly commanded by the God that fills your hands with riches, and crave the God who can fulfill your every desire. The only One you do not worship is this God who is not lofty; the only thing you hate is association with this God whom no man can regard highly. The only thing you are unwilling to do is to serve this God who has never given you a single penny, and the only One who is unable to make you yearn for Him is this unlovely God. This kind of God cannot enable you to broaden your horizons, to feel as if you have found a treasure, much less fulfill what you wish. Why, then, do you follow Him? Have you given thought to questions like this? What you do does not merely offend this Christ; more importantly, it offends the God in heaven. This is not, I think, the purpose of your faith in God!

You long for God to delight in you, yet you are far from God. What is the matter here? You accept only His words, but not His dealing or His pruning, much less are you able to accept His every arrangement, to have complete faith in Him. What, then, is the matter here? In the final analysis, your faith is an empty eggshell, one that could never produce a chick. For your faith has not brought you the truth or given you the life, but has instead given you an illusory sense of sustenance and hope. It is this sense of sustenance and hope that is your aim in believing in God, not the truth and the life. Thus do I say that the course of your faith in God has been none other than trying to curry the favor of God through servility and shamelessness, and can in no way be deemed true faith. How could a chick be born of faith such as this? In other words, what can faith such as this accomplish? The purpose of your faith in God is to use Him to achieve your own aims. Is this not further a fact of your offense against the disposition of God? You believe in the existence of the God in heaven and deny that of the God on earth, yet I do not recognize your views; I commend only those people who keep their feet on the ground and serve the God on earth, but never those who never acknowledge the Christ who is on earth. No matter how loyal such people are to the God in heaven, in the end they will not escape My hand that punishes the wicked. These people are the wicked; they are the evil ones who oppose God and have never gladly obeyed Christ. Of course, their number includes all those who do not know and, further, do not acknowledge Christ. Do you believe that you can act as you please toward Christ as long as you are loyal to the God in heaven? Wrong! Your ignorance of Christ is ignorance of the God in heaven. No matter how loyal you are to the God in heaven, it is merely empty talk and pretense, for the God on earth is not only instrumental in man receiving the truth and more profound knowledge, but more than that is instrumental in the condemnation of man and afterward in seizing the facts to punish the wicked. Have you understood the beneficial and harmful outcomes here? Have you experienced them? I wish for you one day soon to understand this truth: To know God, you must know not only the God in heaven but, even more importantly, the God on earth. Do not get your priorities confused or allow the secondary to supersede the principal. Only in this way can you truly build a good relationship with God, become closer to God, and bring your heart closer to Him. If you have been of the faith for many years and have long associated with Me, yet remain distant from Me, then I say it must be that you often offend the disposition of God, and your end will be very difficult to reckon. If the many years of association with Me have not only failed to change you into a person possessed of humanity and the truth, but, moreover, have ingrained your evil ways into your nature, and you not only have twice as much arrogance as before, but your misunderstandings of Me have also multiplied, such that you come to regard Me as your little sidekick, then I say that your affliction is no longer skin deep but has penetrated to your very bones. All that remains is for you to wait for your funeral arrangements to be made. You need not beseech Me then to be your God, for you have committed a sin deserving of death, an unforgivable sin. Even if I could have mercy on you, the God in heaven will insist on taking your life, for your offense against the disposition of God is no ordinary problem, but one of a very grave nature. When the time comes, do not blame Me for not telling you beforehand. It all comes back to this: When you associate with Christ—the God on earth—as an ordinary person, that is, when you believe that this God is nothing but a person, it is then that you shall perish. This is My only admonishment to you all.

Are you able to understand what’s been said from this piece of God’s word? What fruits did God want to attain by saying this? How should man know the God on earth as God required? What did God expose in this piece of His word? And why did God expose man? What fruits were aimed to attain from it? Do you really understand what this is saying? Is it easy to have faith in the practical God? Everyone agrees it’s not easy. Now we are on this. It is really not easy at all. And what’s most difficult about it? Who can put it simply in just a few words, accurately and precisely? Some people maintain, “Clearly He is nothing special, He’s just an average person, yet you force us to admit that He is the God whom must be obeyed and worshiped. Isn’t this taking away our free agency? Forcing us to do something we don’t want to do?” This is what people usually get hung up on; it’s man’s greatest difficulty. Here’s an example, when it comes to God’s utterance of His words, someone says, “He can make the truth known, this is a simple fact; by virtue of this we admit that He is the incarnation of God, but His normal humanity has really left us skeptical and conflicted. When God makes known the truth, and reveals all mysteries to us, it would be a lot better if He were not of normal humanity. If He were an idol and when He wanted to speak He just opened His mouth and the words came out, and when He had nothing to say He’d just sit there like a stone, not moving; if it were like that, then it would be a lot easier to have faith.” Is it good to believe that way? Is there anything difficult about having faith? A lot of people might say they can guarantee there’s nothing difficult about it at all. So what exactly is difficult about believing in the practical God, and where does people’s faith get stuck in the doldrums? Is bowing down and getting on your knees before God incarnate something you can do? Is it really so difficult? Some say it’s not. But is it actually not difficult? Getting on your knees privately in front of God is not difficult, but what if you bow down in front of the eyes of your unbelieving family or before the world? Would that be difficult? You say it would be. And that’s the truth.

What is the greatest difficulty of believing in the practical God? It’s His normal humanity that always drives a wedge between man and the Spirit of God, and men see only the normal humanity of His flesh, but their eyes never seem to see His divinity, the Spirit of God within Him. So when some new believers in the practical God want to obey Him, they think, “Isn’t this a human being? The One we’re genuflecting to is a person. The One we’re following is just a mortal man, isn’t He? He doesn’t look like God, He’s just an ordinary person.” And so they feel awkward inside, and once they discover that His word and work do not fit in with their preconceived notions, then immediately they stop believing. And so, when some people who have been long-time believers in Him are suddenly caught in the clutches of the great red dragon and subjected to some torture, their faith is shaken, and they deny Him. Some who are just beginning to believe, or who are investigating the true way see His flesh is an ordinary mortal being—an average, everyday person—and begin to doubt, and they form in their mind a sudden ill-conceived notion about Him. So again, what is the difficulty of believing in the practical God? To put it bluntly, it is His normal humanity. It would be much easier to have faith in Him if His physical body were completely normal, yet His humanity transcended the physical plane, and from the moment He spoke, miraculous signs and wonders happened. If when He spoke, His word were with obvious authority, and what He said came to pass and were accomplished in no time flat, people would change their mind and begin to submit to Him in body, mind and soul. So, now people are always doubting the practical God that they believe in due to His normal humanity. “Such an average human, with such normal humanity, how can He be God?” they ask. People never accept His normal humanity, which always causes them to develop notions, and doubts begin forming in their mind; is it not the greatest difficulty in believing in God? People get hung up in this. So how can we resolve this issue? Some people say it’s necessary to commune with each other about the truth, others say that it’s necessary to read more from the word of God, and that’s correct; this issue can somewhat be resolved that way, but not completely. When will this issue be resolved completely? People need to comprehend the divine essence of the practical God. Some people say, “I see that God incarnate is but an ordinary man, all I see in Him is nothing but humanity, a normal humanity, there’s nothing transcendent about Him at all, but it would be better if there were, because then I wouldn’t doubt. Now there’s nothing transcendent in Him at all, but we are required to treat Him as God and obey and worship Him. Isn’t it taking away our free agency?” When will it ever be possible to break through such an impasse? Man will be thoroughly convinced into submission to the practical God incarnate only after experiencing His work for a good number of years, and only after witnessing for himself what God has and is within His normal humanity, and only after witnessing the authority of His word, and witnessing the disposition dominated by righteousness He reveals. At that point, man will have unshakable faith in Him and follow Him even if He is not transfigured or does not change into a spiritual body, which means that man has come to know the God on earth. What I just said is the ultimate fruit that God means to achieve through uttering this piece of His word. When you witness in the incarnate God what God has and is and His disposition and see that in His word the disposition, being, and possessions of God are revealed—when you see that in the incarnate God God’s righteousness and holiness, God’s almightiness and wisdom, what the God in heaven has and is and His disposition are revealed, this means that you have come to know the God on earth. There will come a day when you can say, “It’s absolutely true that Christ is the truth, the way and the life!” No matter how average the humanity of Christ is, you can always make out traces of the God in heaven from Him, you can see that the disposition, possessions and being of the God in heaven are indeed present within the words of the incarnate God, His manner of speaking and presence reveal them. In one aspect, His humanity makes Him seem average and commonplace, in another aspect His divinity shows right through, but at this point, the notions against God’s normal humanity will never again enter into your mind, and no matter how average or how human He appears on the outside, you will know, “He has the essence of God, His essence is divine. These words are not empty nor are they meaningless, they are all too real, all too true!” It would be great if you could discover this mystery for yourself.

Let me give an example; some say, “We who believe in Almighty God have to obey the arrangements of the man whom the Holy Spirit uses; can he represent God? He speaks like people do, and I think that the work he does is the work of man. This is clearly a person in the lead, it’s a person up there preaching and fellowshiping with us. Isn’t this all done by the hand of man?” Is what’s being said here correct? Everyone’s saying it’s not. So can you tell me why it’s wrong with it? Please tell me, anyone. There are those out there who say that the work of the man used by the Holy Spirit looks like a man’s work, when in fact it’s the Holy Spirit who is commanding and directing him in his work. Theoretically speaking that is so, but since it is what must they see in it? “I see within the words he speaks the enlightenment and illumination of the Holy Spirit, and I see that his work comes from the leadership of the Holy Spirit. I see that some of what he says is directed by the Holy Spirit. So why is it that the average man is incapable of saying such things? Why can’t those who have also believed in God for years say such things? Thus, in the man used by Holy Spirit, I see the enlightenment and illumination of the Holy Spirit, and I see the Holy Spirit directing this man, and I see that his sermons and work are performed under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. And so God has commanded that His chosen obey the leadership and the work arrangements of the man used by the Holy Spirit.” There is a deep meaning behind this. Those who can really see the work of the Holy Spirit in this person and know which of his remarks stem from the enlightenment and illumination of the Holy Spirit, and which of his work stems from the leadership and administration of the Holy Spirit are a person with spiritual understanding who sees the work of God—such a person can attain knowledge of God. Now, can we find the being of Christ’s divinity in His normal humanity? Can we find His divine essence? Can we find the disposition of God and His almightiness and wisdom? Some people say, “The humanity of Christ is self-evident, it’s so obvious, but the difference between Christ and mankind lies in His divine essence, which is something that no created being can possibly possess. But how do we recognize His divine essence? How can we see it? This is the problem.” If people really recognize the divine essence of Christ, do they still have notions about Christ? It doesn’t matter how ordinary of a human He is in His life; no matter how young, the fact is, He is God. For example, when the Lord Jesus was born into a mortal body, Simeon the servant of God worshiped the child saying, “I see the coming of the Lord’s Christ.” He fell down in worship to the Lord Jesus who was still an infant at that time. What would you say a newborn child knew? Nothing really, the child had not yet matured as a human being; so then why would Simeon worship Him? Why could he kneel down in worship before Jesus? Because the Holy Spirit inspired him: The Messiah had come, and the Word was made flesh. And he knew that, though the physical body was small and had just been born, yet it was the physical manifestation of the Spirit of God, His essence was divine. No matter whether Simeon had seen it or was fully aware of it, he believed that this child was the manifestation of the Creator, and the coming Savior. He believed in the revelations of the Holy Spirit, so he bowed and worshiped Him. So, why could Simeon harbor no notions? And why are we full of notions when witnessing Christ’s normal humanity? What would you say the problem is? Christ’s divine essence truly exists, no matter how ordinary and common His human body is, no matter how it doesn’t agree with our preconceived notions, no matter how unremarkable, no matter how insignificant it may seem to us humans. His divine essence is real, and that is an indisputable fact. And you do not obey Him, yet He says to you; you who do not obey, He will make the truth known to you; you who do not obey, He will reveal the authority of His word to you, so that all of mankind will eventually fall down in worship. His divine essence and His word are the authority, and the intangible power that all men must obey.

God said long ago: “Who on the earth dares to rise and resist?” “Who dares not to kneel down in worship?” God has said these words, but what facts do we see? Has the entire corrupt mankind, including the entire religious community, submitted? Have they kneeled before God and begun worshiping Him? Aren’t many still resisting and condemning God’s work? What is going on here? Have these words of God been fulfilled? Some have no understanding of God’s words, they say that none of God’s words have come true. Didn’t God know that the whole of mankind, an entire age of humanity, was going to abandon Him? Certainly He knew, yet why did He still say such things? What does this mean? Once again, people are unable to see clearly through this, and they get easily stuck on this point. God wanted you to see that, as a matter of fact, many are resisting and condemning God, but that those resisting and condemning God will be destroyed in the blink of an eye, and that is the meaning of these words of God. God said: Who dares to resist, who dares to condemn? Subsequently, some people stand up to resist and condemn the incarnate God, even an entire age of humanity abandons Him. But immediately afterward, the catastrophe shall arrive. God shall bring all the catastrophes, He shall bring His wrath, He shall bring chastisement, and in one fell swoop, all will be destroyed. Isn’t this the authority of God’s words? This is the authority of God’s words. And how did God say those words? What sort of words were those? Those words were spoken with wrath, and they were spoken with authority. Some take God’s words very lightly, “I dare to resist, I dare to condemn,” and in the blink of an eye, these people will be turned to ashes. As mankind witnesses this, they will no longer dare to not worship, and they will no longer dare to not bow down. Everyone will bow down on the ground with fear and trembling. Once the catastrophe arrives, everyone will become submissive. “God’s words have real authority. God’s words carry righteousness, they carry majesty, and they carry wrath.” Are these ordinary words? The religious community resists and condemns God, and very soon, it shall be destroyed by God. Do you not believe that this is fact? Some say: “You said this many years ago; twenty years have passed and what You said still hasn’t happened.” Because these words have already been spoken by God, they have already been fulfilled; it is only that you are unable to see it. God “is as good as His word, and His word shall be accomplished, and that which is accomplished lasts forever.” One day, you shall be convinced by these words. Just like an elderly person saying to a young man: “Young man, you have not seen clearly through the matters in the world. Don’t talk nonsense; do not say things based only on your imagination.” And the young man replies: “I don’t see things clearly? What things have I not seen clearly?” And the old person says: “Don’t worry, you will understand in the future.” In the blink of an eye, twenty years pass, and thinking back to these words, he can now understand them. Therefore, when God’s words are fulfilled and you look back on God’s words, you will say: “Oh, twenty to thirty years have passed, and these words have now come true, so very soon.” And so, how do you view these words of God? God’s words were spoken with wrath. “Who dares not to bow down? Who dares not to worship?” What are the implied words? “If you are unconvinced, you can try not to bow down and worship Me, then wait and see what shall become of you, wait and see what you shall encounter.” This is the meaning. Do you understand now?

Once God’s words have been expressed, they have already been fulfilled, for He is the Creator. Such is the authority of the Creator. Once His words are spoken, the things mentioned shall inevitably be accomplished. While for men, this is a process that takes up time, as for God, things are done in an instant. I am unable to properly describe this, for our human language is too inadequate and lacks the words to describe this. Some from the scientific community now recognize the legitimacy of time travel, saying that the things that this mankind will be experiencing in a few thousand years have already been fulfilled in another space-time. See, from the point of view of God, these things have already been accomplished, while we are still completely unaware. Such is the ignorance of mankind. Many ignorant people see that God has a normal humanity, that He is a normal person in appearance, therefore they are unconvinced in their heart. “Huh, He says that He is God. Can He be God? One day I shall see if He truly is God or not.” Were there such men during the time when the Lord Jesus was performing work? They wanted to see if the Lord Jesus is God. These people included those elders and leaders of Judaism, as well as Nicodemus, who had sought and examined the true way, “I shall see whether or not the Lord Jesus is God.” Gamaliel was one of them: “If You are a son of man, then sooner or later, You shall fail; but if You are a Son of God, then You shall prosper.” And so, these people waited to see. If one day they saw that the Lord Jesus truly is God, “I am not going to keep my position as a Jewish official. I am resigning, and I shall follow the Lord Jesus.” Were there many who thought like this? There were certainly many people like this. Until the day the Lord Jesus was captured and crucified, people saw that He had died, and they said: “You see, I always doubted that He was God. Look at how this has ended. He’s been crucified and is now dead.” These people put an end to the hopes and doubts in their heart, believing that the Lord Jesus was really a man. However, what no-one expected was that, three days after the death of the Lord Jesus, He was resurrected, and then for forty days He appeared to some people, which dumbfounded many. They thought: “Is this real? Can a dead man be resurrected? Could Jesus really have been revived? If He has truly come back to life, then He must truly be God.” Is this not the question that people had in their minds? In the end, many still didn’t believe. What did Thomas say? “Impossible! I must look upon Him, I must put my finger where the nail marks were, to see if there are traces of Him having been crucified.” Such words proclaiming this as impossible are words of people, who judge this incident based on science and knowledge, and they would all say that this is impossible. Ultimately, the Lord Jesus said, “Put out your hand, touch, and see if I am not the Jesus that was crucified,” and Thomas immediately bowed down, “My Lord, my God!” Then, what did the Lord Jesus say? “[B]ecause you have seen Me, you have believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed” (Jhn 20:29). Thomas had to see the Lord Jesus being resurrected from the dead before recognizing Him as the Lord. As for those people who had not seen yet still believed the Lord Jesus’ words, thinking: “I shall believe in whatever the Lord Jesus says,” such people were truly blessed. At this moment, many are still waiting. “I shall see when Almighty God will change His image and return to Zion, then at that time I shall rise up and follow God. Then I shall give a wonderful and resounding witnessing.” Are there such people? Yes. But what is the outcome that these people await? That is, according to those words that were spoken by the Lord Jesus to Thomas, will these people be blessed? No, they will not. They only believe after they have seen, therefore their belief is based on their eyes, and not their faith. Isn’t that the case? They do not have true faith. If you only believe in God based on what your eyes see, you shall gain nothing. You must believe God’s words. If you do not believe God’s words, then you do not have true faith. If you always rely on your naked eyes, if you always fix your eyes upon the normal humanity of Christ, you will never see God’s appearance. It is useless to believe in this way. You must read God’s words, and come to see God’s appearance from God’s words, and come to have true faith in God.

Now, many people want to see Christ. They say: “Where is Christ? Can I see Him? If I could see Him, then I could determine whether or not He is God.” Aren’t there many people like this? Tell me, can people identify God through just one look? Everyone says that people cannot. Why do you say so? The appearance of Christ is that of an ordinary man. His divinity is not something that people can clearly see from looking just once or twice; people must experience His work and read His words to attain knowledge of Him. You say that Christ exudes God’s essence of divinity and what God has and is, but can the unbelievers come to know such things? The unbelievers do not know what is the truth. When the Lord Jesus said, “I am the truth,” what did Pilate say? “Truth? What is the truth? What on earth are You talking about?” The worldly leaders, presidents, and emperors, they don’t know what the truth is. Only those who have believed in God for many years may understand what the truth has and is. Therefore, when it comes to what divinity has and is exuded by Christ, what kind of people can come to know of it? It may only be seen by those pursuers of the truth who have been enlightened and illuminated by the Holy Spirit. Just as with the man used by the Holy Spirit, regarding which words spoken by him are enlightened and illuminated by the Holy Spirit, which words are spoken from being moved by the Holy Spirit, and which way he works is guided or directed by the Holy Spirit, are those things easy to discover? Even if you were the Superman with his X-Ray vision, you still wouldn’t be able to find out. You must have understood some truths, you must have experienced and come to know God’s words, and then when you hear what he says, you’ll think: “Ah, he has been enlightened and illuminated by the Holy Spirit.” Have you been able to see how much of my every sermon was enlightened and illuminated by the Holy Spirit? Were you able to find out? Most say that they could. Those words that I just spoke, were they enlightened and illuminated by the Holy Spirit? Everyone said that they were. And how did you find out, how did you determine that? This is not something that can be easily explained. It is already quite impressive if people can get some sense of it. See, when I say some things, some people hear them and say, “This is good, these words have substance. I must hurry and write them down, or I might forget them. I have already missed so many opportunities before, I didn’t jot them down and I wasn’t able to remember anything afterward.” Now, some know to take notes. When they learn something new from what I say, they immediately write it down. Let me tell you, most of these words are enlightened and illuminated by the Holy Spirit. When you listen to someone used by the Holy Spirit speak and perform work, and you can discover much enlightenment, illumination, guidance, and governance from the Holy Spirit, this shows that you have caliber and the ability to accept. With these virtues, when you listen to my sermons you will recognize that by thinking: This person is truly being used by the Holy Spirit. I have met so many who give sermons, yet none of them are so obviously being worked on by the Holy Spirit. They are unable to communicate any real things. Although he speaks in a colloquial language and uses the vernacular of everyday life, there are really things that accord with the truth in what he says, and they come from the Holy Spirit. However, there are many who are unable to hear such things as, enlightenment and illumination of the Holy Spirit, governance from the Holy Spirit, they can hear none of those things. They think, “Isn’t this just one man talking and performing work? These words are all spoken in ordinary everyday language, spoken in vernacular. How clever is his diction? It’s not good at all. But you guys treat his words as treasure, even eagerly jotting down notes.” You see, what kind of people are these? These are the unbelievers, and what do they hear when they listen to others’ sermons? Their attitude is: “I am listening to determine the level of your sermons. I need to judge the level of your sermons. I must examine. I don’t know anything else, and I don’t care. I know nothing of any enlightenment or illumination by the Holy Spirit! I am only listening to see if your sermons are well-spoken. If you can use brilliant language and dazzle me with your level of literacy, then I’ll be convinced. If you speak of reality without any literary merit, then I’ll be unconvinced, and I will no longer listen to you. I am not interested in the truth.” Are these not things that the unbelievers would say? Such are the unbelievers, those who enjoy literary speeches. Those who truly love the truth do not care much about literature, they care about the truth. They say: “If your sermons and fellowship can bring us enlightenment, the light of truth, the paths of practice, the true knowledge of God, then I am pleased, I am willing to listen to you, and I want more of this.” Therefore, there are now many who enjoy listening to the sermons and fellowship more and more, and they enjoy them more and more. “Now I know how it is to enjoy the work of the Holy Spirit, now I know how it is to enjoy God’s words. I indirectly gained understanding of some of God’s words by listening to your sermons and fellowship, and afterward it was much easier to understand God’s words when I read through them again, and now my path has opened up. Your sermons are very beneficial and edifying to my reading of God’s words, as well as my understanding of the truth.” Such is the result achieved by God’s chosen people who listen to sermons. If you can discover, from the man used by the Holy Spirit, the work of the Holy Spirit as well as the enlightenment and illumination from the Holy Spirit, then you are someone who has spiritual understanding, and you are someone who has the ability to accept. If, from the incarnate God, from His normal humanity, you can discover what God has and is, God’s disposition, God’s wisdom and almightiness, then you are even more impressive, for you have now achieved the results of knowing God.

What does it mean to know the God on earth? Sometimes, when I encounter certain major events and I don’t know the appropriate way to handle them, when I don’t know if I should wait some time before handling them or handle them immediately, or if I should deal with them in two goes, then I have to talk to God, and with a few words from God I’ll suddenly come to an understanding. When I encounter certain crucial matters, I talk to God, and God will give me a few words, all common words. While those words are dressed in human language they are still extraordinary, and with those few words I instantly come to an understanding. Therefore, although Christ appears to have a normal humanity, chatting with people at His leisure, shooting the breeze or whatever, yet when you encounter major events, when you encounter those things involving truths, a few words from God will help you to understand, a few words from God can achieve results. What does this say? That God is God, and man is man. God may casually say, “Today’s weather is quite nice,” and you think, “Ah, this is a man speaking.” “And how about the weather tomorrow?” “That I don’t know, we will know by tomorrow.” God does not know any such things regarding the external world and He does not talk about such things, for the Holy Spirit directs Him to perform work of divinity. However, at critical moments, during times when truths need to be expressed, one utterance from God can solve problems. One utterance is enough for mankind to experience for a hundred years; one utterance from God will illuminate the path for those who believe in God; one utterance from God will resolve many critical issues regarding your knowledge of God; one utterance from God will reveal all of your conceptions, corruptions, absurdities and ridiculousness, such that you shall become ashamed of yourself. The humanity of Christ is very normal, but the earth moves every time He expresses truths. When not expressing truths, He doesn’t attract much attention, yet He is astonishing when expressing truths. What does this say? That God is God, and man is man, and that man can never replace God. Only God can express truths, and regardless of how smart you are, or how knowledgeable the things you say are, or how well-built and handsome you are, those things are all useless. The appearance of Christ may be inconspicuous but Him saying one thing means God has performed work, God’s words have been expressed. Therefore, can you merely focus on appearance when believing in Christ? It will not do to merely focus on appearance, for His appearance, His humanity and His looks are unimportant. You are unable to see the divinity inside of Christ. Once He performs work through divinity, it shakes heaven and earth, and it is glorious. And one word of God lasts forever!

One time, I visited a place, and several brothers and sisters came with me. One of the brothers was taller than me, burlier than me, and very handsome. Many people at that place had never seen me before, and I could see them thinking, “Ah, this handsome man, he must be the brother from the above,” and so everyone treated this brother particularly warmly, and I was pushed to the side. Everyone entered the house, and once the meeting started and we began talking, people started to understand who I was, and many of their heads drooped. They said: “How come we misjudged? Because people always focus on appearances.” What am I trying to achieve by telling you this? Is there any meaning in the kind of flesh that God is wearing? There is truth to be sought here and there lies the wisdom of God. The appearance of the flesh that God wears does not fit with human conceptions, for it is to attack these conceptions, to eventually conquer all of mankind. That is the intended result. When people see God’s face, they think: “Ah, is this not an ordinary man? Is this not Jesus of Nazareth? How can this be God?” And thus the battle goes on. When the conceptions appear, these people struggle against them, and try to deal with them. Yet the conceptions keep coming up again and again after they have been dealt with. These people are unable to get rid of them no matter what they do, they’re always present in their hearts. They think there’s nothing else for it but to read more of God’s words to see if He is really God. After reading more of God’s words, then praying to seek truths, and with enlightenment from the Holy Spirit, they begin to have confidence and believe in God’s words. Then once more conceptions show up, so they pray again, then seek more and read more words of God, and once again they get rid of their conceptions, and once again they believe in God with peace of mind. They keep on repeating this process many times, battling against their conceptions time and again, always seeking and praying, until they have finally understood the truth and recognized that the incarnate God is the manifestation of the God in heaven. After that, no matter how ordinary the humanity of Christ is, no matter how the work that He performs does not fit with people’s conceptions, they no longer doubt the essence of His divinity, and they no longer doubt that He is God incarnate. This process is how people achieve the result of knowing the God on earth.

What does knowledge of God depend on? It depends on the perfection of the Holy Spirit, as well as the work performed by the Holy Spirit. Without the work performed by the Holy Spirit and the perfection of the Holy Spirit, people cannot know God. When people have conceptions, they must pray to God. And how should they pray? By simply opening up to God and saying: “I am corrupt, I am arrogant, I am always focusing on Your normal humanity, and I never pay attention to the truths expressed by You. I never pay attention to knowing You through Your words. My eyes are rigidly staring at Your normal humanity. Therefore, the more I stare, the more conceptions I have; the more I stare, the more I rebel; the more I stare, the more I resist You. Until eventually, I lose the work performed by the Holy Spirit.” To believe in God is to worship God with your heart and your honesty. If you are always staring at God with your eyes, that is troublesome. And how should you know God? Should you fix your stares on God’s normal humanity? Once you have discovered God’s normal humanity, conceptions begin to grow in your mind: “Hmm, isn’t He a man? Isn’t He an ordinary, living man? How can He be God?” At a moment like this, how should people pray, how should people contemplate? They must consider: Isn’t it a matter of course that the incarnate God has a normal humanity? It is within this humanity that God is expressing His voice, expressing truths, expressing what He has and is, and without it He is no longer the incarnate God. Do you want God to become an idol? Can God be an idol? Can an idol perfect people? Can an idol lead people? God must wear the flesh with a normal humanity to perform work amongst people, such that they can see God speaking and uttering His own voice through ordinary flesh, such that people can see God speaking and uttering His own words to lead mankind through a normal humanity. In the end people are made to see God’s appearance in this man with a normal humanity, see what God has and is, see God’s disposition, see much loveliness of God, and ultimately, know God. This is the meaning of God’s incarnation. Do you understand now? Therefore, do people’s conceptions fit with the truth of God’s words? They do not fit. If people keep on saying that Christ’s humanity is too normal, how should you fellowship about the truth to them? Can the incarnate God have no humanity? Have you been listening to the truths of the incarnation in vain? The truths of incarnation were spoken so clearly, so why don’t you check them with God’s words when you have conceptions? Don’t you know how to accept the judgment of God’s words? The truths in God’s words were spoken with absolute clarity, you became utterly convinced after hearing God’s words, yet you start to have conceptions again once you see God’s normal humanity. Are you not a confused person? Don’t you know to combine the words of God that you read with reality? God says that the incarnation must be accompanied by normal humanity otherwise there is no incarnation. Without normal humanity, there can be no incarnation. When you read these of God’s words, you will understand: “That’s right. I used to have conceptions regarding Christ, always seeing Him as a normal man, an ordinary man. He is not even particularly well-built. Ah! I started having conceptions because I didn’t understand the truths regarding the incarnation. Because I did not understand this, I kept having conceptions.” Once you have read God’s words, once you combine them with facts, once you combine them with the conceptions that you have from seeing the normal humanity of the flesh, then you come to know why you have conceptions. For you do not understand the truths regarding the incarnation, therefore you start having conceptions regarding the normal humanity of Christ. This is a fatal flaw of people–not understanding truths. God’s words have witnessed the incarnation and the meaning of normal humanity, and after hearing God’s words man admits that such words are true. Yet once he comes into contact with God, once he sees the humanity of the incarnate God, he then begins to have conceptions. Isn’t this refusing to accept truths? Isn’t he absurd? This is a problem, and everyone gets stuck at this point. Those without the ability to understand, they all make mistakes regarding this matter. The second major mistake commonly made by mankind is to always take the representation of Christ’s normal humanity as the standard with which to measure divinity. Is this right? No, this is not right. Can normal humanity be compared with divinity? No, it can’t. If normal humanity is compared with divinity, how big a difference would there be? Divinity is what God has and is, while normal humanity is what mankind has and is. One is up in heaven, while the other is down on earth, so it is a difference between heaven and earth. People always use the normal humanity of Christ to measure the divinity of God in heaven, and wouldn’t conceptions arise once this measurement has been made? Measuring God like this easily generates conceptions. Divinity is divinity, while humanity is humanity. People compare the humanity of Christ with divinity, then doubt whether or not Christ is God when the humanity does not fit with the divinity. Isn’t this a mistake? Remember, Christ has both divinity and humanity. Do not treat Christ’s humanity as Christ’s divinity, for that is a mistake. Are there those who make this mistake? There are. For example, regarding the normal humanity of Christ, someone asked: “Will it rain tomorrow?” Christ replied: “I don’t know.” So they said: “Ah, so You are a man! God is almighty and omniscient, but You are not almighty and omniscient. Why should I believe in You?” What mistake has been made? The mistake lies in always comparing what Christ’s normal humanity has and is, and its representation, with divinity. And when they don’t stand up to comparison, they cry, or become negative, or start having conceptions. These things cannot be compared, for humanity will always be humanity, and divinity will always be divinity, and that is a difference between heaven and earth. Furthermore, can Christ’s humanity represent Christ’s divinity? No, it cannot. Therefore, no matter how normal Christ’s humanity seems to be, do not measure Christ’s humanity against divinity.

If one day Christ changes form, will He still have humanity? If He becomes a spiritual body, then He will not have humanity. Only at the time that God appears in the flesh does He have humanity. Christ’s normal humanity is an external appearance, like wearing clothes, and does not represent the essence of Christ, so don’t always treat Christ’s humanity as if it were His divinity. Please understand that. I will give you another example: A person wears clothes that are good-looking, eye-catching, and attractive. So could you say whether or not those clothes represent this person? Everyone said no. So can Christ’s humanity represent His divinity? No, it cannot either. Therefore, you must never mistake Christ’s normal humanity as the measure of His divinity or a substitute for it. That easily leads to conceptions. Christ’s humanity is not the loftiest, or the most wondrous, or the grandest humanity, but is just ordinary humanity. The ordinary humanity is for concealment. Objectively speaking, we would say it is a disguise, the same as if someone is worried about other people recognizing him when he goes out and so dresses down in something plain and simple. Christ’s humanity is a disguise, the same as putting on clothes. Once He changes form, He will take off His humanity and become a spiritual body. Therefore, never be misled by Christ’s humanity to deny His divinity. I put this so plainly, even speaking inappropriately and improperly, in order to make people understand it well, and that is the way you should understand it. That is, God puts on an ordinary outer garment of humanity as it pleases Him, that humanity is ordinary humanity, not something lofty, capable, or especially gifted intellectually, not that kind of humanity, but ordinary humanity. In the past, an emperor would travel incognito, mingling with the public, wearing the clothes of ordinary people, and when they saw him they’d think, “Just an ordinary fellow.” So, does God’s putting on flesh mean something like going out incognito? All say yes. Then, should the way you treat such a person be based on what he is wearing? No, it shouldn’t. If you were to take him for an ordinary person based on his clothes and treat him like one, what is the mistake in that? The mistake is that of ignorance, isn’t it? People are arrogant and conceited. People’s ignorance comes from their arrogant and haughty disposition. They always like those wearing important-looking clothes, so they think, “If you are the emperor, why don’t you wear an emperor’s clothing? Why are you wearing ordinary people’s clothes? Aren’t you deceiving us?” If he isn’t wearing an ordinary person’s clothing, how can you tell him your innermost thoughts? If he wore official clothing, you would always have to bow and prostrate yourself, calling out, “May Your Majesty live forever.” So could you tell him your innermost thoughts? Everything you’d do would be a pretense, such as offering pleasing reports, never bad ones. Once he is in plain clothes, you say whatever is true and don’t care about your attitude, and if you don’t feel submissive, you dare to curse him or strike him. What do you think of this kind of fellowship? This kind of fellowship is easy to understand. Speaking plainly in everyday speech is easy to understand. So is talking in everyday speech good? Does it easily give rise to conceptions? No, it does not. Would you say my speech is too casual, too vulgar and uneducated? Use whatever achieves results, right? It’s a good thing that I can’t compose poetry. If I wrote poetry, it would make your jaws drop and you’d be so impressed. But it would not produce any results nor could you gain any truth.

When I first began to be used by God, I didn’t understand. I said to myself: “Since God uses people, why does He not use those who are highly educated? Since graduates of schools of higher education are usually literary specialists who can compose poetry and essays, they would be perfect, just the people who are suitable for God to use.” That is how I thought at that time. Later I became aware that this idea was immature. It was in the realm of human conceptions, and God does not do things that way, right? Among the things God does that match with human conceptions the least, God wearing an ordinary flesh tops the list and it counters man’s notions purposely. In fact, just what does not fit in with your conceptions is what God will do. If you do not submit, if you do not believe, then ultimately you will suffer loss. If you do not accept that, then you will be destroyed. Look, hasn’t God made this a rule? Who can alter it? This is God’s administrative decree, so it’s no use you disobeying it. Just as in Noah’s time, if you didn’t accept Noah’s words, the floods came and destroyed you, so how could you not obey? If you didn’t obey, you died! You think you are so high and mighty, but as God sees it, you are someone who does not even amount to an ant, just dust and ash, isn’t that so? The religious community says, “Our entire religious community does not accept Almighty God, so we’ll see whether You can complete Your work.” If all of them do not accept, then all of them will be destroyed. What do people amount to? For this reason God’s words say, “Defiance means death!” These words are genuine, not an empty boast or something said to frighten people, but fact, words that in a short time will be fulfilled, and you will see these words realized. How should we believe in the practical God? Based on God’s words. If you believe whatever God says, you will not be wrong! You absolutely will not lose out. If you do not heed God’s words but always resist God out of your own notions and imaginings and work in opposition to God, then who will be the worse off? You will be, not God. Therefore, the way God works when He is incarnated is in order to let people ultimately gain the truth and let people gain purity, in order to give people a beautiful final destination. God comes to perfect you so that you can gain truth and life, so that you can reach the beautiful final destination. But if you do not heed God’s words, you will not have these blessings and you will be unable to gain them. Someone stands against me: “I won’t accept the guidance and shepherding of someone that the Holy Spirit uses. I’ll see whether or not I can gain truth and life by myself.” Over ten years go by until finally everyone see that he hasn’t made a bit of progress. What he understands is still the empty theory, letters and doctrines alone, and he hasn’t gained anything. He wastes over ten years and ruins himself. Those who are obedient often listen to the sermons and fellowship from the above and lead a normal church life. Whatever the above preaches, however the above arranges things, they follow, and imperceptibly they all progress to different degrees in life based on their calibers. Those with good calibers make great progress, while those with inferior calibers make less progress, but all make progress. Those antichrists feel that their own calibers are the best, but they do not make the slightest progress. Who is to be blamed for that? They are themselves to blame. If you are smart people, learn to obey, obey the work and the utterances of God. If you obey and heed whomever God testified to, and you obey and accept fully whatever God says and does, then you are certain to receive God’s blessings. What do God’s blessings refer to? The Holy Spirit works on you, inspires you, enlightens you, guides you, arranges your environment, refines you, helps you gain purity, and although you suffer some, you gain the truth and gain life. These are God’s blessings. Look at those stubborn people in the religious community. No matter how you communicate with them that God has already appeared in the flesh to do His work, they insist that “I don’t believe it! I won’t believe this. The Bible states that the Lord will come again descending on a white cloud!” Out of the whole Bible, they cling to that one verse. Don’t tell me that’s not perverse. Can a person like that gain God’s blessings? They will be destroyed, for doomed devils cannot be persuaded by good words. Does what I say sound too crude? None of you think so. There are people who think it is too crude. I once said, “The antichrists commit all sorts of evil, and that’s like wanting to whack themselves.” And he said, “‘Whack themselves?’ You’re putting it pretty crudely.’ What you mean is ‘looking to die.’ And there’s another, more literate phrase, ‘self-destructive.’ That’s much more elegant. It’s an educated phrase that’s more socially acceptable. Why don’t you use more acceptable expressions? Why do you use ugly slang? If that isn’t crude, what is?” Is that the right way to look at the issue? Don’t bother yourself with whether someone uses slang or educated language. It’s whether or not the words can achieve results, and help you understand the truth that counts. That’s the best language. What is the use of always focusing on empty formalities? So many pastors and elders in the Christian community have a high level of education, more than I do, and most of them have studied theology. But do they understand the Bible? Do they have the ability to understand the truth? The words of Almighty God are a hundred times loftier than the Bible. Such great light appears, but why can’t they see it? Are they blind? Having education does not mean they can understand the truth, isn’t that so? Can education help people understand the truth? No, in this respect it’s useless.

Let us read a passage of God’s words: “I take pleasure in those who are not suspicious of others, and I like those who readily accept the truth; toward these two kinds of people I show great care, for in My eyes they are honest people.” “I take pleasure in those who are not suspicious of others.” What sort of people are “those who are not suspicious of others”? We first need to understand the meaning of this. If someone always distrusts others, always has suspicions about others, is that normal humanity? That is not normal humanity. So what sort of person always has suspicions about others, distrusts others? The deceitful people. How do deceitful people suspect others? When they meet others, their first thoughts are: “What sort of person are you? Are you wicked? Are you able to overpower me? Or steal my things? Are you bad enough to harm me?” These things always occupy their minds day after day. These are the first things they consider about whomever they come in contact with. Don’t such people get exhausted? Living that way exhausts them. Do such people have a state of mind that is simple or complex? Extremely complex, because they’re always suspecting others, and this is related to their nature. What is their nature? It is certainly extremely deceitful. Those who “are not suspicious of others” are quite simple, and their humanity is normal. So in God’s eyes what kind of people are they? They are the honest. Some people ask: “How does an honest person respond to people? How does he think about others? What is he always paying attention to?” God said about this that those who harbor no suspicions about others are honest people. Just this one sentence makes the crucial point about the essence of the nature of honest people, that honest people are simple and harbor no suspicions. What is God’s attitude toward the sort of people who “are not suspicious of others”? God said: “I take pleasure in” them. By taking pleasure in them He means He likes them: “This person is not suspicious of others, his nature is rather simple. This person’s heart is kind and pure.” God takes pleasure in such people. Why does God take pleasure in people who harbor no suspicions about others? Because He is disgusted with deceitful people, that’s for certain, and He hates deceitful people. Since there are too many deceitful people, when God suddenly sees people who are not suspicious of others, He is amazed, and because He feels they are so rare, therefore He very much takes pleasure in them. God takes pleasure in those who are not suspicious of others and they are people with normal humanity. Are there many such people among the human population? No. Because there are not many, God said: “I take pleasure in those who are not suspicious of others.” So, bringing this back to ourselves, are we suspicious of others? Do we have many suspicions? To what extent? Once we start suspecting, what are the consequences? If we keep on suspecting, we start to ridicule and to slander others, or we distance ourselves and cut ourselves off, with no way to get along with others. In many things, suspicions lead to more and more misunderstandings, conflicts become more serious, and finally relationships break up and people go their own way. Isn’t that so? Once people have suspicions, is it easy to fall prey to an enemy’s scheme to spread dissension? It is easy. Giving yourself over to always having suspicions is unacceptable. It is a failing! Some say, “One must not think of harming others, yet one must be prepared to defend oneself against others. So is it all right not to defend oneself against others?” Defending oneself against others is one thing; being suspicious of others is another. They are two distinctly different and unrelated things.

Below God says, “I like those who readily accept the truth.” What kind of people readily accept the truth? Some people say, “If you communicate the truth, I am willing to listen.” Would they be considered as someone who accepts the truth? Some people are very happy after they finish listening to the truth and they record it in a book. Is this accepting the truth? Some people frequently read God’s word, pray and seek the truth. Is this accepting the truth? None of this is accepting the truth. Now, what does it mean to accept the truth? It means to readily put the truth into practice. If I understand the truth after listening to it, I am able to put it into practice afterward. I am able to keep the truth in my heart and treat it as if it were treasure or my own life. At any time, I am able to put it into practice. When I need to use the truth, I am able to use it. The truth is not for enjoyment. It is to be put into practice. It is used to solve problems and it should be treated as if it were our own lives. Someone who readily accepts the truth, when he encounters dealing and pruning, he thinks, “No matter how you treat me, regardless if your words are severe or not, as long as what you say is correct and in accordance with the truth, I will accept. It does not matter how serious or unpleasant to hear it is. If your dealing is correct, I will accept. If your dealing is severe, I will kneel down, repent and accept. I will not pay attention to whether or not you speak to me in a proper way or whether or not your words are severe or not. I will accept or reject it purely based on your words themselves. As long as they are in accordance with the truth, it is fine. Even if you slap my face, if what you say accords with the truth, I will accept it and I will obey it.” This is what it means to accept the truth. Some people, when they encounter dealing and pruning, they say, “Your words of dealing and pruning are not wrong. They are in accordance with the truth, but you do not have a good attitude. I will not accept!” Do these people accept the truth? No, they do not. Some people listen to me preach and they say, “The words you use are vulgar; even if what you say is correct, I will not accept it!” I respond, “Is there truth in my vulgar words?” “I do not know! I do not care if there is truth or not. Your words are vulgar. Even if they are correct, I will not accept!” Do these people accept the truth? No, they do not. Some brothers and sisters read from God’s word and they have some conceptions, “These words have been spoken too severely. They say that I do not have humanity and that I am a beast. I am a human being. How is it that I am a beast? Can a beast speak? Can a beast put on clothes? Can a beast do work? I can do all this. I am a human being. Why do You say that I am a beast? These words are incorrect. If You say that I am a human being that has a corrupt disposition, this is fine. However, some parts say that I am a beast and other parts say that I am a descendant of Satan. I am a descendant of the human race. Why am I said to be one of Satan’s descendants?” Does this kind of person accept the truth? When God expresses the truth, if the words are in accordance with his conceptions and imagination, he accepts and he acknowledges them. If the words are not in accordance with his conceptions and imagination or if they are severe, he does not accept. Even if they are the truth, he does not accept. This person is not someone who accepts the truth. Therefore, if a person, after reading God’s word, listening to sermons, and experiencing God’s work for a period of time, can understand a bit of the truth and put a bit of truth into practice, this kind of person is someone that accepts the truth. What is God’s approach when it comes to people who are able to accept the truth? He very much likes them. God likes those that accept the truth.

Below, God says, “[T]oward these two kinds of people I show great care.” What does “these two kinds of people” refer to? First, it refers to those who are not suspicious of other people. Second, it refers to those who readily accept the truth. There are some people who have these two kinds of behaviors. God says that He shows great care to these people. What does “great care” mean? It means that God is particularly kind to these people. Great care means that He is particularly kind to you and treats you in a special way. He treats you better, shows you more grace and bestows more favors upon you. He treats you particularly well. He treats average people in an average way. However, when it comes to these people, people who are not suspicious of others and who readily accept the truth, God gives them preferential treatment. This is what “show great care” means. Speaking frankly, what is “great care”? It means that someone has the work of the Holy Spirit. This is what it means to have great care. “[G]reat care” is that the Holy Spirit does a little more work, enlightens you a little more, makes more arrangements in your environment, and trains you a little more, in order that you obtain more, right? When a leader at a workplace takes care of someone he or she likes, how does he or she take care of them? “Keep up the good work, and I will give you a bit more benefits. You won’t be left behind when there are raises later on.” This is what it means. However, when it comes to God, “great care” means a great blessing. This is an eternal blessing! When it comes to man’s care, it involves little graces and small favors that are temporary. In a blink of an eye, they are gone. Now, do you want to receive man’s care or God’s care? You all would rather receive God’s care. What must you do to get God’s care? Be an honest person, do not be suspicious of other people. Do not look into other people in the church: How is this person treating that person? What kind of relationship do those two people have? Who glanced at whom? Who spoke what to whom? Do not pay attention to these useless things. This is ignoring one’s proper duties! Focus more on fulfilling your own duties, seeking the truth and resolving your own difficulties. This is one’s proper business. Seek the truth yourself first. Pay no attention to other people’s business: How is this person’s relationship with that person? What did this person say to that person? Who does this person treat well and who does this person not treat well? Do not focus on these useless things.

Why does God show great care to these two kinds of people? Below, God said, “[F]or in My eyes they are honest people.” This word is crucial. Before, we didn’t know what kind of person is an honest person. We thought that if someone always speaks honestly and does not tell lies, he is an honest person. Actually, this is an external manifestation, which is also one aspect in being an honest person. The most crucial, vital and important manifestations are: Firstly, do not be suspicious of others and secondly, readily accept the truth. This is a truly honest person. Externally, some people do not tell lies but they do not accept the truth. Are they an honest person? This kind of person is not an honest person. Externally, the things some people say are very objective and true, but they are very treacherous and pretentious. When it comes to things that are in their interest, they are especially strategic and crafty. This is even more sly and treacherous. Now, how do you judge whether or not someone is honest? What is the criterion for deciding whether or not someone is honest? What does not being suspicious of others mean? It means not prying into other people’s business, living in harmony with others and following the principles of the truth when interacting with others. It means helping others when you should help them, and it means discerning people as well. As long as they are not false leaders, antichrists, evil people or evil spirits, we should treat others with a loving heart and without discrimination. We must also deal with people with wisdom. If we can interact with them like this, then the situation is fine. These are the principles of the truth that you must possess in normal human relationships. Being suspicious of other people means always snooping into other people’s business, obtaining information that can be used against them and always focusing on their faults. Being suspicious of other people refers to these things. These things should be thrown away. You must treat other people properly. If you snoop into other people’s business when you meet someone, thinking: “What kind of person are you? Are you someone that pursues the truth? In the end, are you a treacherous person? Is your humanity bad? Are you wicked? What kind of foolish things have you done? I must clarify these things before thinking about how I should treat you and whether or not I should preach to you,” is this appropriate? It is not appropriate. Why is it not appropriate? This is what it means to be suspicious of other people. Someone said, “I want to communicate the truth with him, but is he a treacherous person? If he is a treacherous person, communicating with him is a waste of time. If I open myself to him and communicate how I resolved my own corruption, will he publicize it? Can he judge me if I communicate the truth?” Look, this is very troublesome that you have so many suspicions! The way you consider problems is too complicated. Can this kind of person fulfill their duties well? Can they have normal relationships with other people? Definitely not. This is what is known as being suspicious of people. Such a person always studies other people, only to obtain no truth. Also, in the end, he is nothing after having believed in God for many years. He has ruined and defrauded himself. It is not good to be suspicious of other people and snoop into their business. Some people, when they see the past mistakes of other people, they hold on to these mistakes and do not let go. They look down on other people, “Humph, you did this before!” Their heart is dirty. They grab onto other people’s shortcomings, isn’t this so? When people are stupid and ignorant, they do some foolish things. If they haven’t committed any major sins, then they are already very lucky. Do not hold onto information that can be used against other people. Do not concentrate on others’ flaws. Treat other people properly. When they need the truth, we should help them. If we can provide what they need, we should provide it. If we cannot provide it, we should not sneer at them nor look down on them. Do not say any words that would hurt others. Do not say only negative things about someone else. These are all manifestations of being suspicious of other people. A person who is not suspicious of others has a clean heart, he or she is kindhearted and does not discriminate. However, he or she also has wisdom and is principled. The other aspect is readily accepting the truth. You need to communicate and understand these two manifestations clearly. If you are not suspicious of other people and you readily accept the truth, then you are an honest person in the eyes of God. If you become an honest person in the eyes of God, then you will definitely have success in your faith.

Let’s look below at God’s words, “If you are deceitful, then you will be guarded and suspicious toward all people and matters, and thus your faith in Me will be built upon a foundation of suspicion. I could never acknowledge such faith.” What kind of people are liable to have notions about God and always have suspicions of Him? Some people say it is deceitful people. What kind of attitude does God have toward the faith of deceitful believers? “I could never acknowledge such faith.” This is troublesome. What is the meaning of this? God will not acknowledge the faith of a deceitful person even if they believe for an entire lifetime. Even if they believe in their next lifetime, God will still not acknowledge their faith! The faith of a deceitful person is not solid and it will always fail. What can you see from this verse? Can deceitful people be saved? They cannot. Why can they not be saved? God will never acknowledge the faith of a deceitful person! What truth do you understand from this verse? Why do so many people in the religious world, especially the pastors and elders, not accept the incarnate God? What is the main reason? Could it be that we can see that God’s words are the truth, that they are God’s voice and God’s expression but they cannot see this? In this respect, we are more or less the same as them. In terms of caliber we are no better than them. Now, why is it that they do not believe? From the segment of God’s words that we have just read, we can understand: First, it is not easy for deceitful people to accept the incarnate God. Second, even if they accept, they always have their own notions and misunderstandings when it comes to God. This is the greatest difficulty when it comes to man believing in God. The more deceitful a man is, the more notions and misunderstandings he has of God. The more deceitful a man is, the more suspicions he has of God incarnate, and the more difficult it is for him to accept Him. For which people is it easiest to accept? Honest people. First of all, honest people do not have suspicions. Second of all, they readily accept the truth. You can see that many people who believe in God are very simple. I say, “Why are you able to believe in the practical God?” They say, “Everything the practical God expresses is the truth. It is 100% true. That is enough. I do not care how normal His humanity is, whether He is lofty or not or if He is unremarkable. As long as He is able to express the truth and save people, I will believe. I will firmly believe without any doubt.” What kind of person can say these words? This is an honest person who has grasped the key point and the fundamentals. One brother who believed in Jesus was captured. He was jailed for more than a year. His wife accepted Almighty God’s work and delivered a book of God’s words to the jail. At that time, it was very easy to send things into the prison. The prison police did not check very carefully. Now, it is not easy to send things. She sent a book of God’s words to the prison so her husband could read it. After her husband read it he said, “Oh no. An average person is unable to say these words. The source of these words is the Holy Spirit’s enlightenment. They are from the Holy Spirit.” “Well, you haven’t discerned them correctly. Take a closer look.” Her husband saw the truth regarding God’s incarnation. “Ah, God has come. He is incarnate.” “Now, think about it, should you accept this?” He said, “Okay, I will take a closer look.” The next time our sister visited the prison she asked, “Now what do you think?” “I have some conceptions. Some words are too severe. It causes me to be unable to accept them.” What did this sister say then? “Do you acknowledge that these are God’s words?” “I acknowledge this.” “If you acknowledge this, then how do you still have your own notions? Isn’t this man’s disobedience?” Once her husband heard this, he agreed that the words were correct: I acknowledge it, but still have notions. Isn’t this my disobedience? “What you say is correct. Now, I’ll accept. Absolutely.” How was this person’s acceptance? It was very simple and pure. He quickly took the hint, and it wasn’t necessary to say much. The minds of clever people are very quick to apprehend every point. Stupid people even use a rolling pin to blow fire. They do not understand a single word, right? This is what is meant by being simple. It is this easy for honest people to accept the truth.

Many people acknowledge that God’s words are the truth. When they are asked, “Now, do you accept?” they answer, “Let me think a bit.” They want to think a bit. “You acknowledge that He is God incarnate, but do you follow Him?” “I still haven’t thought it through.” “You acknowledge that God’s words are the truth, but they do not conform to your notions. Do you accept them?” “They are the truth. It’s not false. Temporarily, I’m still holding onto my notions. My notions are also correct.” Are there a lot of these people? Aren’t these people very troublesome? Is it okay if you do not have patience when spreading the gospel to these people? These people are very deceitful and troublesome. Working with and speaking to deceitful people is very strenuous and tiresome. Look, God’s words include the following verse: “Many have followed Me without hesitation to this day. So, too, have you suffered much fatigue over the past several years. The innate character and habits of each of you I have grasped with crystal clarity; interacting with every one of you has been tremendously arduous.” Why is it exceedingly exhausting for God to interact with man? Men lack honesty. There is too much deceit in men. It is very tiring and strenuous for God to save this kind of people. How many words must God speak before they accept the truth? That is why God said, “[I]nteracting with every one of you has been tremendously arduous.” Presently, God is not willing to come into contact with many people. Why is He not willing to come into contact with them? It is because God feels that it is exceedingly exhausting and tiring to associate with these people.

What kind of foundation is the faith of deceitful people built on? It is built on the foundation of suspicion. Now, based on their suspicion, what will they develop? All kinds of notions and imaginings. They always use their notions and imagination to examine God. Their main task when it comes to their faith in God is researching God because they are always suspicious. Since they are suspicious, they are constantly researching. Other people seek and accept the truth. You, on the other hand, do research on whether or not it is the truth and whether or not He is God. You constantly research. Can you achieve the knowledge of God through research? It is not possible. Why? Some people say that research is unable to help people practice and experience God’s words. It does not allow man to develop a true knowledge of God. Man cannot know God’s essence through research. These words are correct. Truth is not obtained through research. It is obtained through experience. From experience, one can gain the understanding of it through the Holy Spirit’s enlightenment and illumination. This cannot be achieved through research. First, it is not possible to find the truth through research. Second, God cannot be found through research. Third, the knowledge of God cannot be found through research. This is why, even though scientists have researched for thousands of years, they still do not know where to look for evidence verifying the existence of God or how God is like. They have not had any results all the way up to the present day. If man can obtain the knowledge of God through research, scientists would be the first people to know God. There would be no need for the Holy Spirit’s work of perfecting people, right? Can the truth be found through research? It cannot either. Paul studied the Bible since he was small. The Israeli priests and scribes as well as the Pharisees were specialists when it came to researching the Bible. In the end, did they know God? Israelites researched for many years. The end result of their 1000 to 2000 year research was that they nailed the Lord Jesus to the cross. What happened after they nailed the Lord Jesus to the cross? They achieved one result—Israel was ruined for 2000 years. This is the result of researching God. From this fact we can see that it is not possible to achieve the knowledge of God through research. The more man researches, the more he resists, becomes hostile toward and distances himself from God. In the end, he becomes irreconcilable with God and he nails God to the cross. These are the results of researching God. Presently, religious people research Almighty God constantly, “Just what is Almighty God all about? ‘Eastern Lightning’? Oh no. These words are in the Bible. The Lord Jesus said, ‘For as the lightning comes out of the east.’ What is the ‘Eastern Lightning’?” They constantly research. Through their research, will they be able to reach the conclusion that Almighty God is the one and only true God? They cannot. They are not reading the words of Almighty God. They are researching God’s words. Researching God’s words will not do. You must seek the truth. Bow down in front of God and let go of yourself in order to seek the truth. Only then will God enlighten and illuminate you. “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God” (Mat 5:8). If you always research God, you will not see God. The more you research and the more you come into contact with God, the greater the probability that you will reach the conclusion that God is a man once you hear God’s words. In the end, research will lead you to this result, “I do not believe, He is just a man.” You have reached a verdict. Notice how the research has ruined you. If you read God’s words, the more you read, the more you will believe in God. In the end, through reading, you will find that God has appeared, the great light has sprung up and you will find that the one and only true God has arrived on earth and that He has embodied Himself in the flesh of a human being. In the end, you will have more and more faith in God. These are the results that can be achieved through reading God’s words. No matter how deceitful people believe in God, they are unable to obtain the truth. This is undoubtedly true. They are unable to obtain the truth because the Holy Spirit does not work on them. The Holy Spirit does not work on them because their faith in God is built on a foundation of suspicion through their research. This is why it is not effective.

Let’s continue reading God’s word, “Lacking true faith, you are even more devoid of true love.” If you do not have true faith, you also do not have true love. The most important point is that if you do not have true knowledge, you will be unable to have true love. What kind of foundation is true faith built upon? You must believe that God’s words are the truth. You must recognize that God’s words are God’s voice, what God is and has and they represent God’s disposition. This is how you develop a true faith. Presently, for many people, their faith is not true faith. They merely acknowledge God’s word is God’s expression and voice and He is the incarnate God. Within this mere acknowledgement, are there manifestations that they have accepted the truth? They do not accept the truth, they merely acknowledge it. Acknowledging God, is this kind of faith up to standard? It is definitely not up to standard. Would merely acknowledging the incarnate God and God’s expression enable you to cast aside everything for God? It cannot. You are unable to cast aside your possessions and you will have an amateurish faith your entire life. Since you merely acknowledge, you do not have a great faith. This is the shallowest kind of faith. This kind of faith has a religious overtone to it. God does not acknowledge this kind of faith at all. Great faith involves truly acknowledging God, accepting the truth and seeing God’s appearance. You will be able to immediately cast aside anything including your flesh and the world.

God said, “And if you are liable to doubt God and speculate about Him at will, then you are, without question, the most deceitful of all people.” What kind of people are the most deceitful? Those who are suspicious of God and speculate about Him. This kind of deceit is not trivial. If you do not even trust God, who can you trust? Isn’t this the most deceitful person? Some people do not feel that they themselves are most deceitful. They feel that they are quite smart and that other people are fools, “You are so foolish in your belief in God. I am so smart. No matter what, my mom and dad are number one, my sons and daughters are number one. You will pay bitterly. You are extremely foolish.” As a result, they do not believe God’s words or the truth. They rely on their individual notions and imagination. No matter how God’s family makes arrangements, they do not pay any attention, “You have a thousand excellent plans. I have one fixed plan. I do not care what you say, I will focus on the interests of my flesh and safeguard my wealth and livelihood. Don’t think that you can take these from me!” Can such people be perfected? They cannot be perfected. Other people spend all of their time pursuing the truth and fulfilling their duties. You, on the other hand, do this in your spare time, maybe for an hour or a half hour or so. Can you obtain the truth with this kind of faith? You cannot. You have not spent enough time. Your results will be miniscule. When it comes to faith in God, the more effort you make, the greater the reward. The more of a cost you pay, the greater the result. What is the basis for receiving these rewards? It’s not like these rewards will naturally come to you if you just acknowledge God 100%. You must pay a cost. What cost? This depends on how much of God’s word you have read, how much truth you have communicated, how much you have experienced in fulfilling your duties, how much dealing and pruning you have accepted and how many trials and refinements you have experienced. These practical quotas illustrate this issue most clearly. How many setbacks and failures have other people experienced? If you haven’t even experienced them once, what kind of result do you think you will have? How many instances of dealing and pruning did others experience before they could develop genuine obedience? Do you think that you only need to experience it a few times and then you will be able to obey? There is no way. How many times have other people gone through extreme repentance? How many times have you cried bitterly? How many times have other people experienced ridicule and slander? How many times have you experienced this? In one year, how many hours have other people spent fulfilling their duties? In total, how many hours have you spent in ten years? These results, these quotas and these numbers really illustrate the situation quite clearly.

Let’s continue looking at God’s word. “You speculate whether God can be like man: unpardonably sinful, of petty character, devoid of fairness and reason, lacking a sense of justice, given to vicious tactics, treacherous and cunning, pleased by evil and darkness, and so on.” Having these suspicions can mean the death of you. What kind of person has these suspicions? The kind of person who does not have a bit of truth. It is definitely an unbeliever. Only someone that embodies Satan can have these kinds of suspicions. Isn’t this the case? If you have believed in God for many years yet you still have these suspicions, then it’s over for you. The disease has seeped into your vitals and you cannot be saved. For those that love the truth, no matter how many notions they have, they would not reach this stage. It is over for all those whose suspicions of God have reached this degree. This is the sign of a nonbeliever, pure and simple. Can this kind of faith be acknowledged by God? Not only can it not be acknowledged by God, but also, it will definitely bring curses and punishment. Listen to the following, “You speculate whether God can be like man: unpardonably sinful, of petty character….” Being “unpardonably sinful” and “of petty character” is the worst aspect of the human race. When someone regards God as the worst man, this is outrageous. He does not regard God as the best person. Instead, he regards God as a satanic demon. This is nothing short of blasphemy! Is it not a sin to be suspicious of God in this way? This is extremely troublesome. Do you have these kinds of suspicions of me? Can you guess what kind of person I am? You should not have suspicions like these toward other people, so how dare you have these kinds of suspicions of God? Even death cannot atone for this sin! Those who have believed in God for ten years or so understand God’s normal humanity. God has a normal humanity, but He has no corrupt dispositions. When it comes to us believers, we have corrupt dispositions. After believing in God for many years, we have attained some changes. We no longer commit sins that are clear and obvious. We no longer break the law. However inside, we still have satanic dispositions. Sometimes we still lie, and still commit some transgressions. This shows that there are some changes in us. These are the results that we have obtained from pursuing the truth, experiencing the judgment and chastisement of God’s words, and experiencing some trials and refinements and dealing and pruning during our belief in God. We are also capable of some genuine obedience. Notice how when I am talking now, people do not have their own conceptions and they do not judge. No matter how I say it, they think it is fine. No matter how fierce or severe the words are, they think these are still the words of someone with a normal humanity. It all depends on the situation. If these words are used to evaluate or describe an objective fact, then these words are correct. You can see some people are like domestic animals. Now, can you actually say, “You are a real human being”? This is not correct. “You really are like a domestic animal.” These words are very appropriate. They are based on the facts. This situation should be described with this language. You cannot say that this person has expressed it incorrectly just because the words he uses are unpleasant to hear. This is a mistake. For example, let’s say I encounter a satanic demon and he or she exposes his or her satanic disposition. Is it okay if my words are not a little more fierce and severe? If I deal with satanic demons in a happy and joyful manner, is that love? Does it mean I have the truth and have the principles? Are you not following regulation? If people do not have the truth, they will not be able to see the situation properly. They constantly grasp for information that can be used against me as well as little mistakes in my words. Isn’t this nitpicking?

The more that man believes in God, the more he will understand God’s divinity. When he understands a significant portion of the truth, he will see God reveal Himself in His words, “Wow, God’s disposition is very real!” In God’s words, man can see what God is and has, God’s disposition, God’s righteousness and majesty and the mercy that God shows His chosen people, “Wow, it is vivid and living. God has truly revealed Himself!” Won’t such a person understand God more and more? He will have an increasing knowledge of the practical God. Since these words are the words expressed by the practical God, and He has expressed God’s disposition and what God has and is in a very vivid and realistic manner, He is God Himself. God is God. Can man speak clearly about the things of God? Can man express God’s disposition? Can he express God’s wisdom and almightiness? Can he express what God has and is? Even if man uses every last ounce of strength, he would not be able to. Not only can man not express all of this, but he cannot completely understand the truths within a single piece of God’s word even if he reads it ten thousand times. Man’s understanding has limitations, right? God’s word is the fount of life and has an inexhaustible and endless supply of truths. You would never be able to completely live out the words in one single piece of God’s word. Therefore, when it comes to your faith in God, if the more you believe in God, the more you acknowledge God, know God and revere God, have less notions of God, have greater faith in God and have a more genuine love for God, then you are being perfected. Those who do not pursue the truth, who always have suspicions of God, the more they believe in God, the more notions of God they have. The more they believe in God, the more misunderstandings and suspicions they have of God. The result in the end is that they do not believe in God anymore. They betray God. Their faith in God has come to an end due to their betrayal. During the course of the work in the last days, God expresses His words, all of the truth, to call all the people who truly believe in God and gather them in front of His throne and to use His words to reveal and eliminate all those people in the religious world that believe in God. Those who believe in God will be separated according to kind because of God’s words. Those that belong to God will turn to God. Those that belong to Satan will return to Satan and be destroyed. Look at those religious pastors that preach at the pulpit. Is that preaching? Is that bearing witness to God? It is purely showing off. It is performing as Satan. Are you able to see their antichrist disposition? They are not devout at all. It is obvious that they are unable to accept the truth. God has exposed them. This is God’s wisdom. If God did not incarnate Himself as a man, would they be exposed? Look at those who do not love the truth. The more God speaks, the more they have their own conceptions. The more God speaks, the deeper their misunderstandings and conceptions are. You can see that they are not genuine people. They are bad people. They have their own conceptions. Why should you have your own conceptions? There is so much truth, how can you not accept it? There is so much truth, how is it that you cannot discover it? Why do you always have your own notions? Are you the truth? You do not have any truth. Why are you so arrogant? You do not obey at all. You have a lot of your own notions. You are just not someone who loves the truth.

In the end, God said, “Is not the reason that people have such thoughts because they lack the slightest knowledge of God? Such faith is nothing short of sin!” What kind of faith is sinful? The faith in which you constantly have suspicions of God is sinful. Whatever the great red dragon says, that is what you believe. God speaks so much truth, yet you do not believe one sentence. You think that one hundred sentences that God speaks are not as convincing as one sentence that the great red dragon speaks. Do you belong to God or do you belong to the great red dragon? “Such faith is nothing short of sin!” You must ponder these words very carefully. What kind of faith is sinful? Are there these impurities within your faith? Are there parts of your faith that are suspicious of God? Do you still have your own notions? How were your notions developed? Why do you not believe God’s words? Why do you not base your belief in the incarnate God on His expression? Why do you always listen to satanic rumors, negative propaganda and lies? God speaks so much truth, why do you not even accept one sentence? Satan says a word, and it is implanted into your heart. You accept it so readily without any doubt. What kind of problem is this? Is this not related to man’s nature? You believe in Satan too much and you believe in God too little. You believe firmly in Satan’s words without any doubt, yet you constantly have suspicions of God’s words. What kind of disposition is this? It is the disposition of deceitful people. It is a satanic disposition. If you have this disposition when you believe in God, this is testing and resisting God! This is why God said, “Such faith is nothing short of sin!” These words will be fulfilled. Once you see what befalls some people in the end or the outcome they will face, you will acknowledge that God’s words will all come true as predicted. God will never acknowledge the faith of deceitful people.

Is it easy for deceitful people to change? It is not easy at all for them to change. Can you be honest and speak the truth when you are in front of God? In normal circumstances, when man is praying before God, he is able to say anything. There are things that are embarrassing to talk about in front of other people, but in front of God, you are able to open your mouth and say it. Also, inside your heart, there is a kind of intangible sense of worship and reverence toward God. You can’t see or touch God. However, when God is mentioned, you feel a sense of deep veneration. That is why man is able to say anything when he is in front of God. He can open up in a very pure way. Speaking and communing with God is something that is easy to do. However, be careful when you make a promise, for you must keep it. For example, when you are making resolutions, you might say, “I absolutely must put the truth into practice. I will cast aside everything. I will use all my strength and ability to fulfill my duties.” If the result is that you do not do this after you have finished saying this, haven’t you deceived God? When you are making your resolutions, try to be objective. Do not talk about something that you cannot do. Wouldn’t you then avoid deceiving God? If you make extravagant claims in front of God and in the end, you are not able to deliver on any of them, isn’t this deceiving God? You are not treating God as God! If you have a heart that truly reveres God, would you dare deceive Him when you are in front of Him? Aren’t you toying with God when you tell lies and make extravagant claims? Do you think that God does not know? Just where is your heart that reveres God? Do you even have one? You must be able to fulfill the promises and resolutions that you make before God as to how you will conduct yourself. Do not speak great things or say empty things. If you cannot do the things you say, then this is deceiving and toying with God. God will despise you and be fed up with you. If you tell lies in front of God every day, God will say, “You are defiant of God. You do not treat Me as God. You are not worshiping Me. You are speaking to your vague God. What you believe in is a vague God.” God will ignore you. Can you tell what kind of God someone believes in when you observe his or her prayers or things that he or she does in front of God? Can you tell whether or not someone has God in their heart? Can you tell whether or not they are someone that reveres God? Can you tell just how someone’s relationship with God is like? This is all very obvious. Therefore, man is unable to deceive God. Actually, given enough time, people are able to discern these things as well. You can see that some people who love God, even though their mouths do not say it, the people around them will eventually see it from all the things that they do, “Oh, this person really loves God. This person honors God. This person truly obeys God.” The people around them can tell it if they have spiritual insight. Notice how presently, when someone speaks, others will think, “Oh. This person has the Holy Spirit’s work. That person does not have the Holy Spirit’s work. That person is very arrogant, he is not devout. That person has not entered into life!” When people notice that someone is the same as an unbeliever, they will think, “Oh no, that is a nonbeliever!” Or, you can tell if someone truly believes in God, “You can see that he does things very sincerely. He has a heart that reveres God. When he speaks, it is very appropriate.” People can tell. If you believe in God to the very end but you are not able to obey God, you are incompatible with God and you become more and more distant from God and hostile toward God, this proves that you do not believe in the practical God but in a vague God. In the end, God will not acknowledge this kind of faith. He will declare you as a nonbeliever and eliminate you.

The fruit of believing in God is that the more man believes, the stronger his faith becomes. The more he believes, the more he will obey God, understand the truth, become compatible with God and bear witness for God. This is walking the path to being perfected. If you always have fruits, and in each period of time you are able to progress, this is someone who is walking on the right track of believing in God. How do you believe in the God on earth? Do you have a true knowledge of Him? Do you have genuine obedience to Him? Are you compatible with Him? These are all the results that need to be achieved in the very end when you believe in God. If you do not have these positive results, then it is very troublesome. One day, God will leave, and you will say, “Oh no, if I knew that God would leave today, I would have pursued the truth much earlier. I was still there watching from the sidelines.” Once God has left, you will say, “It really was the true God. He was transfigured and returned to Zion. Why did I always have suspicions before? Why did I always have my own notions?” You will really start to hate yourself. You will slap your own face continuously. You only believe if you can see. If you cannot see, then, all along, you have suspicions and you have conjectures. God does not acknowledge your faith!
