Sermons and Fellowship About God’s Word “Transgressions Will Lead Man to Hell”
Let’s start our meeting and first read a passage of God’s word “Transgressions Will Lead Man to Hell.”
Transgressions Will Lead Man to Hell
I have given you many warnings and bestowed upon you many truths intended to conquer you. By now, you all feel significantly more enriched than you did in the past, have come to understand many principles of how a person should be, and you have come to possess so much of the common sense that faithful people should have. All of this is the harvest you have reaped over the course of many years. I do not deny your achievements, but I must also say quite frankly that I also do not deny the numerous disobediences and rebellions you have committed against Me over these many years, for there is not one saint among you. You are, without exception, people who have been corrupted by Satan; you are enemies of Christ. To date, your transgressions and disobediences have been too numerous to count, so it can hardly be considered strange that I am constantly repeating Myself to you. Nor do I wish to coexist with you in this manner—but for the sake of your futures, for the sake of your destinations, I will, here and now, repeat once more what I have already said. I hope you will indulge Me and, moreover, that you will be able to believe My every utterance and infer the deep implications of My words. Do not doubt what I say, let alone pick up My words as you wish and toss them aside at will; this I find intolerable. Do not judge My words, and still less should you take them lightly or say that I am always tempting you or, worse, that what I have told you is inaccurate. These things I also find intolerable. Because you treat Me and what I say with such suspicion, never taking My words on board and ignoring Me, I tell each of you in all seriousness: Do not link what I say with philosophy; do not link My words with the lies of charlatans. Much less should you respond to My words with contempt. Perhaps no one in the future will be able to tell you what I am telling you, or speak to you so charitably, or, still less, walk you through these points as patiently. You will spend those days to come recalling the good times, or sobbing out loud or groaning in pain, or you will be living through dark nights without the provision of a shred of truth or life, or just waiting hopelessly, or dwelling in such bitter regret that you lose all reason…. Virtually none of you can escape these possibilities. Because none of you occupy a seat from which you truly worship God, but immerse yourselves in the world of licentiousness and evil, mixing into your beliefs, into your spirits, souls, and bodies, so many things that have nothing to do with life and truth and which actually are in opposition to them. What I therefore hope for you is that you can be brought to the path of light. My sole hope is that you can become capable of caring for yourselves, of taking care of yourselves, and that you do not place so much emphasis on your destination while viewing your behavior and transgressions with indifference.
For a long time, people who believe in God have all been earnestly hoping for a beautiful destination, and all of God’s believers hope that good fortune will suddenly come to them. They all hope that before they know it, they will find themselves peacefully seated at one place or another in heaven. But I say that these people, with their lovely thoughts, have never known whether they are qualified to receive such good fortune that falls down from heaven or even to sit on a seat there. You, at present, have a good knowledge of yourselves, yet you still hope to escape the disasters of the last days and the hand of the Almighty when He punishes the evil ones. It seems as though having sweet dreams and wanting a life of ease is a common feature of all people whom Satan has corrupted, and not some stroke of genius by any lone individual. Even so, I still wish to put an end to these extravagant desires of yours, as well as your eagerness to gain blessings. Given that your transgressions are numerous, and that the fact of your rebelliousness is ever-growing, how can these things fit with your lovely blueprints for the future? If you want to go on as you please, remaining in the wrong with nothing holding you back, yet at the same time you still want your dreams to come true, then I urge you to continue in your stupor and never wake up—for yours is an empty dream and in the presence of the righteous God, He will not make an exception for you. If you simply want your dreams to come true, then never dream; rather, forever face the truth and the facts. This is the only way that you can be saved. What, in concrete terms, are the steps of this method?
First, take a look at all your transgressions, and examine any behavior and thoughts you have that do not conform to the truth.
This is one thing that you can do easily, and I believe that all intelligent people are able to do this. However, those who never know what is meant by transgression and truth are the exception, because on a fundamental level, they are not intelligent people. I am talking to people who have been approved by God, are honest, have not seriously violated any administrative decrees, and can easily discern their own transgressions. Though this is one thing that I require of you, and that is easy for you to accomplish, it is not the only thing that I require of you. No matter what, I hope that you will not laugh in private at this requirement, and especially that you will not look down on it or take it lightly. You should treat it seriously, and not dismiss it.
Secondly, for each of your transgressions and disobediences, you should look for a corresponding truth, and then use these truths to resolve those issues. After that, replace your transgressive acts and disobedient thoughts and acts with the practice of the truth.
Thirdly, you should be an honest person, not someone who is always being clever and constantly deceitful. (Here I am asking you again to be an honest person.)
If you can accomplish all three of these things, then you are one of the fortunate—a person whose dreams come true and who receives good fortune. Perhaps you will treat these three unappealing requirements seriously, or perhaps you will treat them irresponsibly. Whichever, My purpose is to fulfill your dreams and put your ideals into practice, not to make fun of you or to make a fool out of you.
My demands may be simple, but what I am telling you is not so simple as one plus one equals two. If all you do is to talk casually about this, or ramble on about empty, high-sounding statements, then your blueprints and your wishes will forever be but a blank page. I will have no sense of pity for those of you who suffer for so many years and work so hard, yet have nothing to show for it. On the contrary, I will treat those who have not met My demands with punishment, not rewards, much less any sympathy. You might imagine that, having been a follower for so many years, you have put in hard work no matter what, and you should be granted a bowl of rice in God’s house just for being a service-doer. I would say that the majority of you think this way, for you have always pursued the principle of how to take advantage of things and not be taken advantage of. Thus, I am telling you now in all seriousness: I do not care how meritorious your hard work is, how impressive your qualifications, how closely you follow Me, how renowned you are, or how much you have improved your attitude; as long as you have not met My demands, you will never be able to win My praise. Write off all those ideas and calculations of yours as soon as possible, and start treating My requirements seriously; otherwise, I will turn everyone to ash in order to bring an end to My work and, at worst turn My years of work and suffering into nothing, for I cannot bring My enemies and those people who reek of evil and have Satan’s appearance into My kingdom or take them into the next age.
I have a lot of hopes. I hope you can conduct yourselves in a proper and well-behaved manner, faithfully fulfill your duty, possess truth and humanity, be people who can give up everything they have and even their lives for God, and so on. All of these hopes stem from your insufficiencies and your corruption and disobedience. If none of the conversations that I have had with you has been sufficient to attract your attention, then it is likely that all I can do now is to say no more. However, you understand what the results of that would be. I never rest, so if I do not speak, I will do something for people to look at. I could make someone’s tongue rot, or cause someone to die dismembered, or give people nerve abnormalities and cause them to look hideous in so many ways. Then again, I could make people endure torments I have brewed up specifically for them. This way I would feel glad, very happy, and greatly pleased. In the past, it was always “Good is repaid with good, and evil with evil,” so why not in the present? If you wish to oppose Me, and make some judgment about Me, then I will rot your mouth, and that will delight Me to no end. This is because ultimately, what you have done is not the truth, still less has it anything to do with life, whereas everything that I do is the truth; all My actions are relevant to the principles of My work and the administrative decrees that I set forth. Therefore, I urge each of you to accumulate some virtue, stop committing so much evil, and heed My demands in your free time. I then will feel joyful. If you were to contribute (or donate) to truth even one-thousandth of the effort that you put into the flesh, then I say you would not frequently make transgressions and have rotted mouths. Is this not obvious?
The more transgressions you commit, the fewer opportunities you will have to obtain a good destination. Conversely, the fewer transgressions you make, the better your chances become of being praised by God. If your transgressions increase to the point that it is impossible for Me to forgive you, then you will have utterly wasted your chances of being forgiven. As such, your destination will not be above, but below. If you do not believe Me, then be bold and do wrong, and see what that gets you. If you are an earnest person who practices the truth, then you surely will have an opportunity to be forgiven for your transgressions, and you will disobey less and less frequently. If you are a person who is unwilling to practice the truth, then your transgressions before God will surely increase in number and you will disobey more and more frequently, until you reach the limit, which will be the time of your total destruction. This will be when your pleasant dream of receiving blessings will be ruined. Do not regard your transgressions as the mere mistakes of an immature or foolish person; do not use the excuse that you did not practice the truth because your poor caliber had made it impossible to do so. Moreover, do not simply regard the transgressions you have committed as the acts of someone who did not know any better. If you are good at forgiving yourself and treating yourself with generosity, then I say you are a coward who will never gain the truth, nor will your transgressions ever cease to haunt you; they will keep you from ever meeting the demands of the truth, and cause you to forever remain a loyal companion of Satan. My advice to you is still this: Do not pay attention only to your destination while failing to notice your hidden transgressions; take transgressions seriously, and do not overlook any of them out of concern for your destination.
The passage of God’s words entitled, “Transgressions Will Lead Man to Hell” is very important. But how should we understand this statement? Some may ask, “Transgressions will lead man to hell. Then if a person who truly believes in God with all their heart and who loves the truth transgresses, will they survive to be saved?” Which transgressions will not take a person to hell? And which will take a person to hell? Should these truths be clear? Of course, we should be clear on this. The passage, “Transgressions Will Lead Man to Hell” contains much truth. God says, “I have given you many warnings and bestowed upon you many truths intended to conquer you. By now, you all feel significantly more enriched than you did in the past, have come to understand many principles of how a person should be, and you have come to possess so much of the common sense that faithful people should have. All of this is the harvest you have reaped over the course of many years.” In the past we have often spoken of how long we have believed in God and what gains we have taken from this. Then, which of these are true gains? And which should not be considered true gains? In the eyes of God what is meant by true gains? God’s words have clearly explained this. First, “I have given you many warnings.” The truth within God’s many warnings, if truly understood, is very important in understanding the true meaning of being a person. There are a few special warnings which, if a person truly takes heed of, truly accepts, truly implements and truly adheres to, then this is their first significant gain. The next line from the passage is “and bestowed upon you many truths intended to conquer you.” The truths which will conquer corrupt human beings and convince them, are all very important, they are the path along which all people should travel. The truth which will conquer corrupt humanity can become the life of corrupt humanity, and all those who gain these truths without question also gain life, this is one of the most important gains in belief in God.
“By now, you all feel significantly more enriched than you did in the past.” What does this, “feel significantly more enriched” mean? It means that these truths, along with God’s words have become part of a person’s life, become part of their outlook, become the foundation of how they live, become a part of their own truth, path, and life; and as such they are fulfilled, they are assured. “… have come to understand many principles of how a person should be.” How do these many principles of being a person come about? As you understand the truth, it creates within you the knowledge, the basis, the foundation on how to live your life and conduct yourself. The principles of being a person include the lines we will not cross, common understandings, the paths which we should follow, and the things which we should pursue. These are all encompassed within the principles of how a person should be. If you “have come to understand many principles of how a person should be,” does this prove you have the reality of the truth? Does this prove you understand many truths? Is there a direct connection? There certainly is a direct connection. “… and you have come to possess so much of the common sense that faithful people should have.” What does it mean by “faithful people”? It refers to honest people. “[T]he common sense that faithful people should have” is the common knowledge which an honest person should have. “All of this is the harvest you have reaped over the course of many years.” How do we understand “the harvest you have reaped over the course of many years”? This means the gains which one should have after experiencing God’s work for many years. We could also say this is the effect you will receive after accepting the work of Christ of the last days for many years. If you believe in the practical God, believe in Almighty God for many years and don’t make these gains, then what are the consequences? If you don’t achieve these gains then you are a nonbeliever, you are one who has been exposed and cast aside! However, if after many years you make gains, they are precious, and you will survive. If you do not, then there will be trouble. God may not immediately reveal His feelings regarding this, He may not punish you, but when disaster befalls you will be in trouble, your outcome is not easy to tell. What does it mean the outcome is not easy to tell? That’s to say, being the person you are, when disaster comes it is not certain whether you will live or die, whether you will survive. So, using simple and direct terms, how should we explain this? If you have believed in God for many years and have not received such gains, your outcome will be problematic. This explanation is simple, is it not?
Next, God says, “I do not deny your achievements.” He recognizes these achievements; He will not deny them. If you truly make these gains, He will determine that you have made them, He will acknowledge that you have made gains; He will recognize you as a follower of Christ, He will recognize you as a person who has experienced His work. This reality is recognized by God. What benefit does God’s recognition of these things have with regard to a person’s ending? It has definite benefit. What if you don’t make such achievements? What will God say on seeing you have believed for many years but failed to make these achievements? It fulfills the Lord Jesus’ words: “I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity.” That is what this means. If God acknowledges the gains you have made, then things will be much easier. What will He say next in such an eventuality? “I acknowledge that you are a person of faith, through many years of experiencing God’s work you have made gains.” As you can see the result is different. So, is gaining God’s recognition the key to salvation? It certainly is! During the Age of Grace, the Lord Jesus said: “Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name? and in Your name have cast out devils? and in Your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity.” These are the words of the Lord Jesus during the Age of Grace. During the Age of Kingdom, Almighty God also said such things and although His manner of speaking was different, the meaning is the same. All man who experiences God’s work for many years, will face the issue of God’s recognition, of whether or not He commends you; it is inescapable. All must experience this, all must accept His trials. Is this not a fact? It’s not that anyone who has experienced God’s work for many years can simply believe in whichever way they wish or that all who believe will receive salvation. Some people ask, “So, have you seen that God has recognized you? And who have you seen has been denied by Him?” Can’t those of insight see the problem here? To some God has said: That person understands the truth, he has the reality of the truth, he is of good humanity; he loves God with sincerity; This person is devious, he is dishonest, his character is poor, he is inadequate. This confirms God’s evaluation of man. This evaluation also includes whether or not He acknowledges and commends you.
Some people work hard for many years, but in the end, they are revealed and cast aside, how can this not have everything to do with God? Some do evil in abundance, they are exposed by God’s chosen people and expelled from the church; doesn’t this also have everything to do with God? There are some who fulfill their duty for many years and reveal themselves to be selfish and mean, twisted and deceitful. God will not approve such people; they are pruned and dealt with in the severest of manners by God’s family. Does this not have everything to do with God? Some people offend God’s disposition, interfering and disturbing His work and as such they are pruned and dealt with severely. Does this not have everything to do with God? It is all to do with Him. There are some who say, “This is done by man, I am obedient to God, not to man.” What does this mean? Is this correct? This is something which a person must judge on their own, something we all have to face. So, today as we communicate these words, those who are sincere in their faith, who understand spiritual matters, who know the truth, they understand the meaning; for those who do not understand spiritual matters, who do not accept the truth, whatever notions they harbor, whichever conflicts they feel, whichever attitude they take, all are very obvious. There is no need for appraisal of such a person, everyone is clear, it is easy to distinguish such a person from others, is it not? Then, have you actually received gains after believing for all these years? If you have such gains, then He will recognize you, He will not deny your achievements. If you have not gained anything from experiencing His work, how will God view you? There are some who simper and think, “I really haven’t achieved such things. I have believed in God for a long time but have not gained anything real. I merely understand a little of the spiritual doctrines.” In such a situation, what is God’s stance? God would say, “I do not know you.” He wouldn’t say you are good, He wouldn’t say you are bad, He wouldn’t even say whether or not you are sincere, whether you have spent, whether you have suffered. He would simply say, “I do not know you.” What does this imply? Isn’t this very problematic? Sometimes God does not reveal things on the outside, He does not reveal His thoughts, He does not reveal His words, but through many things and many words, has not His true meaning already been revealed? The Lord Jesus’ words revealed some of God’s disposition to us; Almighty God’s words reveal even more of God’s disposition to us. If you look at these together you can see, “Even when God hasn’t spoken clearly, I can understand His meaning.” Does this person understand spiritual matters? Yes, he does! Those who understand spiritual matters, I only need to speak a few words and they will understand, there is no need for detailed explanation.
Next God says, “[B]ut I must also say quite frankly that I also do not deny the numerous disobediences and rebellions you have committed against Me over these many years.” God has told us of such positive things, that He will acknowledge man’s gains. On the other hand, He will not deny man’s many years of disobedience and rebellions. He will not deny man’s gains, but He will also not deny man’s years of disobedience and rebellions. How can we understand these two non-denials? It is not acceptable not to understand these non-denials, it is problematic. It says, “… for there is not one saint among you. You are, without exception, people who have been corrupted by Satan; you are enemies of Christ.” With these words, in an instant God has revealed the truth that man has been corrupted by Satan, He has revealed the man’s character, nature and the type of person one may be. So, what is of this revelation? It sent a chill through your heart, did it not? Then, what do these words mean? This is God telling us, so there is surely truth to find in these words.
Following on from this, God says, “To date, your transgressions and disobediences have been too numerous to count, so it can hardly be considered strange that I am constantly repeating Myself to you. Nor do I wish to coexist with you in this manner—but for the sake of your futures, for the sake of your destinations, I will, here and now, repeat once more what I have already said.” “To date, your transgressions and disobediences have been too numerous to count.” This reveals a fact, that is, after we have made gains, there still remains a real problem. What is the problem? Although we may have made great gains, we cannot deny that our disobediences and transgressions are too numerous to count; that’s to say they are great in number. This is an objective truth which no one can deny. One who has reaped many rewards but at the same time, without doubt, still has many transgressions and disobediences; is this person one whose life disposition has changed? Some people say he is not, then what is his situation? He is one who comparatively pursues the truth, has just entered into some of reality, has just begun to understand the truth but the truth is not yet an entire part of his life. The issue of his transgressions is not entirely resolved so he still continues to commit them. This is the stage of life experience in which he remains. However, at this point, if you asked him to back away from God he would not; no matter how Satan may try to confuse him, he will not back away because he has come to understand some of the truth, his heart has come to a realization, “This is the true way, the true way to eternal life, it is not wrong!” He has this belief so he will not leave God, he will cast aside everything for the sake of God; but at the same time, his many transgressions still remain. So at this point, is it simply that he has just come to understand the truth, but his life disposition has yet to truly change? At this stage, where a person has reaped some rewards but still has transgressions, is their future guaranteed? It is not. Why is it not guaranteed? Because God says, “Transgressions Will Lead Man to Hell.” This is the truth! This is the greatest axiom of life. During your times of transgression, you can ponder, “What danger will this transgression bring me? Will it lead me to hell?” God’s words will then come to you, “Transgressions Will Lead Man to Hell.” “This is the greatest axiom of life. Oh, dear! If this transgression is not resolved, not cast away, my destination will be uncertain, this transgression will most likely lead me to hell.” Such transgression will bring ruin, will destroy your future; so, such transgression must be resolved!
“Transgressions Will Lead Man to Hell.” But what are transgressions? Are they the everyday revealing of one’s corruptions? No. They are matters which offend God’s disposition. To steal offerings, to be in conflict with God, to judge God, or even to betray Him, these are transgressions; in principle this is how we can understand them. Some ask, “Exactly which things are considered transgressions?” Things which offend God’s disposition. But what exactly are such transgressions? One such is the act of adultery. But what exactly is considered adultery? Is it the thought of such a thing, or the actual act itself? It is the act. If there is the internal desire for such a thing, if it is dealt with, if it is abandoned and rejected, then it is not a transgression. If it is acted upon, the sin is committed, and this is a transgression. So, committing adultery is a transgression, but what other sins are there? Theft of offerings, this is very serious in nature. Some say, “This train or bus ticket, which I claimed on the church’s expenses, I probably shouldn’t have but … Is such a thing considered theft of offerings?” It is not, it is a small thing, it is not so important, it is not deliberate theft of offerings to God as if they were your own. Deliberately taking offerings as if they were yours to do with as you wish, such as corruption, seizing of funds and stealing, these are all considered theft of offerings. If you do such things you are doomed. There is also the issue of betrayal and of denying God’s name, signing the letter of repentance, and acting on Satan’s behalf. If someone signs the letter of repentance, but then speaks a certain way when praying, it is simply to try and fool the great red dragon; in such a case, we need to look at their real behavior. However, if in his heart a person betrays God, his words clearly betray God, he doesn’t fulfill his duty, in his heart he is in conflict with God, feels hate, then this is betrayal. If you betray God you are doomed; it is the most serious transgression. There are still other transgressions, such as: committing evil while performing one’s duty; pouring one’s effort into disrupting the work of the house of God; deliberately working against the house of God; not exposing those antichrists and false leaders, but finding fault with leaders and workers who can do actual work. Disrupting the work of the house of God means to make an enemy of God. Disrupting the work of the house of God means disrupting the work of God, and disrupting the work of God is a transgression. These transgressions are all very serious, they are transgressions which offend God’s disposition. We can say, such things which lead one to be expelled from the church, lead one to perform all kind of wicked deeds, are all serious transgressions. There are some who are put into group B because they have committed serious transgressions. There are some who have not been put into this group or expelled, and yet they are in essence evil. They do their utmost to disrupt God’s work, they judge the work of God’s house and the work of God, and they judge the man used by the Holy Spirit. This kind of person is evil, an antichrist. Why isn’t this kind of person expelled from the church? Because the leaders and workers of the church do not have the truth, and they are not carrying out the practical work. If a church contains evil people, antichrists who have not been expelled, this proves the leaders and workers of the church do not have the reality of the truth, are not carrying out real work, and this will lead to trouble later on. Some church leaders and workers do not expel people, because the false leaders or antichrists are their relatives or friends. Some leaders and workers are too sentimental, they are fearful of offending those who should be expelled. Some church leaders and workers are simply nice people who do not wish to offend even those who are evil. This means their congregation still harbors such evil people, these antichrists, who are not expelled. But if evil people and antichrists are not expelled, then the leader or the worker of the church is betraying God! This is a serious transgression. Understand?!
God says, “I will, here and now, repeat once more what I have already said.” God says He will repeat once more what He has already said, but what does that mean? It means that God has spoken on this matter before, and now He will speak of it again. This is a key word. God says it is repeating, a common phrase might be nagging, saying something over and over. But God’s repetition of something is not the same as man’s; God’s repetition is full of meaning, it is important, it is of great importance to man’s outcome and destination. It is so important, but why does God use the word “repeat”? If man says something so important, instead of using the word “repeat,” he will say, “I want to re-affirm….” They use better sounding, more solemn phrases. But here God uses the word “repeat.” What does this tell us of His disposition? He is humble, He is hidden. In addition, God is not over the top, He is not arrogant, He doesn’t brag; He speaks truth, He speaks His mind. He treats His chosen people as if they are of His family, and so He uses the word “repeat.” If God spoke speak from His position as God, solemnly expressing Himself to the entire universe, then He wouldn’t use such language. What can we see from this? To use a common phrase, “God is amiable, He is kind!” This is one of many things which make us adore Him.
Next, God says, “I hope you will indulge Me and, moreover, that you will be able to believe My every utterance and infer the deep implications of My words.” God’s words contain deep meaning. If you cannot understand them, you are not a true pursuer of the truth. Why does God say this? God is the Creator of all things. He doesn’t say things which do not have meaning. He does not speak petty nonsense; what He has said here is very important. It is essential. It must be understood clearly. Later, God says, “Do not doubt what I say, let alone pick up My words as you wish and toss them aside at will; this I find intolerable.” What is it which God cannot bear? The ignoring of His words. If people do not take His words seriously, God will be extremely upset. What does He mean by “intolerable”? If people always do this, the Holy Spirit will not go to work on them, His Spirit will not do work on them. God finds this intolerable, and so He will cast you aside, move you away and ignore you. Man, in his way of doing things, also works by this principle. For example, someone says, “I have told you many times, and you still do not listen.” What will people think of this? They’ll say, “Don’t bother telling him again, it’s useless, he won’t listen, he isn’t interested in what you say.” So, is it not the case that this person does not have the desire to speak with you? Man has this frame of mind, and so does God. If you regard God’s words with frivolity, you do not take them seriously, God will find it hard to do His work on you so that He is unwilling to do it. He will say, “This person does not properly read the words of God; he understands them but does not carry them out with care, doesn’t take them seriously; then this person’s character is flawed and they are not sincere in their heart!” “I solemnly speak to you of this matter. If you do not take these words seriously, if they merely go in one ear and out the other, if you doubt them, then God’s Spirit will not enlighten you, He will ignore you.” This is the only way which God will treat this kind of person. In our actual experiences, we have all felt such failures. Sometimes we do not read God’s words carefully, we have been perfunctory and not taken them seriously; sometimes we may have even doubted His words. “Does God really treat people like this? Is this matter really so important? Is what God said the truth? Is man’s fate really decided according to this? Is this God’s meaning? These are just words. They are printed in books of His words, but God did not reveal this to us with His own voice, He didn’t tell us directly, so is this true?” This is half belief and half doubt. You have taken up the words of God, so He is pleased, “This person listens, they accept.” But later if you abandon them, God will be angry, for this is something God finds unbearable. God has spoken to man, but corrupt mankind treats Him like this. Isn’t God hurt by this? Some say, “God is faithful, His promises can be relied upon. Yet, God has promised to save mankind, so how is it that transgressions can lead man to hell? Are His demands so harsh? Are they so high?” What attitude is this toward God’s words? Is it belief and obedience? It seems like doubt in His words. If there is doubt, then there is a lack of faith. If there is a lack of faith, a half belief but also doubt, then you are dealing with His words carelessly, you are not taking them seriously. Actually, God’s words are the truth. God really did say these words, God’s will is this, and He follows these principles. God’s words, each and every one, are the truth; heaven and earth shall pass away, but God’s words, each and every one of them, shall not pass away. One day, when God’s work comes to an end, He will decide man’s fate based on these words; those who have not taken them seriously, will be stunned into subservience at the end and begin to weep and gnash their teeth crying, “If I really had known it would be like this, I would have accepted His words, but was that not because I did not understand them back then? So, I didn’t take them seriously.” Man considers himself to have reason, but it is merely an expression of man’s disobedience; he deserves his fate. Who made him disbelieve God’s word? When the time comes, God cannot ignore His own words in His judgment of you just because you did not believe His words. God says, “Whether you believe or not, I will accomplish everything according to My words. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but not even one of My words shall pass away; each one will be carried out.” To say this in a simpler way, “God’s words will never change; if you do not believe in God’s words then you will be destroyed, your end will be perdition. It is what you deserve!”
The passage of God’s words which we have read today is entitled, “Transgressions Will Lead Man to Hell.” Do you believe that these are God’s words? On what level, do you believe it? 100%? It’s not easy to say, is it? Some people say, “If one really understands the truth, and he performs some good deeds but also commits some which are evil, what will happen in the end?” In this case, we must look at the nature of these evil acts and whether or not they have offended God’s disposition. If they have truly offended His disposition, then this person is a demon; they have not restored their relationship with God, they have not returned to the normal relationship with God and continue to be in conflict with God, to be His enemy. So, this person can be defined as one who is resisting God. They are not compatible with God; although they may understand the spiritual doctrines and on the surface, they may seem to understand some truth; but if they do not put it into practice, then would you say this person’s destiny is likely to be good or bad? Bad. Whether or not you can obtain the truth relies on whether or not your life disposition changes. If you obtain the truth, and truly have life, what happens to you in the end will be different. If on the outside, you appear to understand the truth, but you do not truly have life, your nature is one of resistance to God, and you are treating Him as an enemy, this will cause you great distress. We can see that, these days, there are some antichrists, and although they are expelled from the Church, they continue to believe. What is the meaning of such people? “The church has expelled me, but God has not necessarily expelled me. I shall continue to believe.” There are many such people. These people are skilled at preaching and they can speak at length. What is more, there are many who approve of and worship such people. Yet, because such a person’s nature and essence are at odds with God, and he is evil, he is done for, he has been convicted; on death, he will be cast into hell, his faith will be wasted! Such people who understand spiritual doctrine often try to communicate such doctrine to others; is this of use? It is not, because such a person is still evil, they are done for. The kingdom of heaven does not house defiled, corrupt, evil people who are at odds with God. It houses only those who worship and obey Him, that is a given. If a person is incorrect, then they are finished. If they are right people, and they are normal, even though they are not good at communicating the truth, as long as they can obey God, worship Him, then they will survive. God has decreed that a person’s end will depend upon whether or not they have the truth, whether or not they have a life of the truth, whether they revere God and shun evil; it depends on how they lived, whether or not they obeyed God and worshiped Him. This is what is most important; it does not depend on whether or not a person can preach, can communicate the truth to others. Is that clear?
You see that there are some people who have done their duty for many years, but can we say with certainty that their character has been changed? Or tell whether they are deceitful or honest? Can we tell if they are obedient to God or not? Or if their life disposition has changed? Or if they can put the truth into practice and they are principled? It is according to such concrete matters that we can see whether or not a person has the truth, this is the way God sees it; when deciding a person’s fate, this is how God judges them. If on the outside a person speaks well, but when doing things or carrying out their duty they are not principled, and inside they harbor deceit and trickery, they are not in the least bit truly obedient, and actively partake in the philosophy of Satan, then does such a person have the truth? They do not. What are the principles by which leaders and workers in the church go about their tasks? “What the above says, I shall do. What the above hasn’t told me to do, I will not do. Why do I listen to the above? Because I’m worried the above will deal with me.” Are such a person’s principles correct? Some say they are incorrect. But where have they gone wrong? They have obeyed the rules, but they have not been truly obedient, they merely fear the consequences, this is the way in which this person works, this is how they have justified themselves to you. Is this kind of person one who practices the truth? Are they one who obeys God? Are these strategies they use the expressions of principled ways of doing things? Is this kind of person considered one who has the truth? No, they are not, and this is a great problem.
How do you feel about the pruning and dealing of people by God’s house? Some ask, “Does the pruning and dealing of people by God’s house represent God? Does it actually come from God or is it a product of man? We cannot tell.” How should we view this opinion? Is it right or wrong? It is wrong. Some will follow up by saying, “According to what you said, all that God’s House does is representative of God, it all comes from God?” How should we view this opinion? Do not confound yourself with petty rules, you should pursue the truth. So, you should pray to seek the truth: “What are they dealing with me for? Why are they dealing with me in this way?” If you work out why, you’ll see whether or not this treatment is actually of benefit to you, whether it helps you. If, through seeking the truth, you come to feel that God’s house dealing with you is to save you, to cleanse, to support, to help, and therefore is of great benefit, then this comes from God. Can we not accept it in this way? If you feel, “This treatment is of no help to me whatsoever, I am getting no benefit from it, these words do not adhere with the truth, so this does not come from God.” In this case, you can reject such treatment, refuse it, is this OK? If this is how you do things, there will be a day when you realize, “This pruning and dealing of me, this treatment of me, is necessary, the treatment is correct. Inside, my disposition is such and I am rebellious. This revelation is accurate and I have been dealt with correctly. If I was not dealt with in regard to this problem I have, my disposition really would not change.” So, you see, one who understands the spiritual matters, as soon as they seek, as soon as they reflect, as soon as they pray, they see things for what they are; they know how to deal with such treatment, they know what attitude to take, and how to pursue the truth to solve their problems and transgressions. Subconsciously, with more experience, one’s life disposition begins to change, one begins to understand, one gains some benefit and through such experience one will understand clearly. In the beginning, when a person is being pruned and dealt with, as they have not truly experienced it before, they will feel hard done by, they will snivel and sob. Do they understand yet? They do not. If they can understand even 20-30% then that is impressive. They must see it through after experiencing it, and then they will totally understand. Only when the Holy Spirit has enlightened them will they fully comprehend, will they understand whether or not such treatment has come from God. So, those who pursue the truth, when pruned and dealt with, they will, in the end, take benefit from it, and will become enlightened. Those who, when receiving such treatment, are left with resentment, they are in conflict with God, they are rebellious, resistant, defiant. This kind of person will find themselves in trouble, they will gain nothing, but not only that, their true nature has been revealed. Generally, which kind of person, when faced with such treatment, is left with feelings of hate, resentment, conflict and resistance? Generally, those whose humanity is evil have such a reaction. This kind of person does not seek the truth, he doesn’t care whether such things adhere to the truth or not, whether they come from God. “You humiliate me, you deal with me in such a way, you attack me, shame me. Regardless of this adheres to the truth or comes from God, I do not accept it!” Such is the doctrine of this kind of person. If they hold such religious notions, taking such attitude toward such treatment, are they one who pursues the truth? This kind of person does not love truth, he goes about matters according to his own notions, he is obstinate and unwilling to let go of them. Such a person, if someone who he looks down on tries to communicate truth to him, even if what is said is in line with the truth and would be of benefit, would he accept it? Some say he would not. But why? “Because the one who said it to me is someone I look down on and if a person I look down upon speaks the truth, no matter if they speak as directed by the Holy Spirit Himself, I will still not listen. However, if someone I admire, someone I adore, no matter that what they say does not adhere to the truth, or is in fact the opposite of the truth, I will accept it.” What kind of person is this? Such people are snobs, those who despise and hate the truth. Whether such a person listens to others, accepts their words or obeys their commands depends on if they have power, or a famous name, and not on whether what they are communicating adheres to the truth and whether it is of benefit to them. This kind of person, one who does not love truth, what kind of a path is he walking? The path of the Pharisees, the antichrists—worship of the famous; obedience of the famous; obedience to power! “I’ll believe anyone whose power is greatest, I’ll listen to anyone whose power is greatest, I will obey anyone whose power is greatest. The great red dragon’s force is great, I will do as it says; Satan’s force is great, I will listen to it. If one day God’s power appears the greatest, then I will believe in Him. Now, God’s power seems small, on this world Satan’s force is great, so I will follow the world.” Are there many people like this? Look at the attitude of the Jews when the Lord Jesus was here carrying out His work. When the Lord Jesus entered Jerusalem, many said, “The Lord Jesus has come to be King,” they lined the streets to welcome Him, singing and chanting, praising His name. On the day which the Lord Jesus was crucified, these people fled, they betrayed Him. “You are being crucified, we will not follow You, we will not believe in You, You do not have power. You have been humiliated and then nailed to the cross! Why should we follow You and obey You?” These people are snobs; all they follow is power. In mainland China now, there are many such people: When they read Almighty God’s words they say, “They are right, they are good. But the power of The Church of Almighty God is small, it is a weak entity, it is not as powerful as the great red dragon, so I cannot believe. When Almighty God’s church is more powerful, when people all believe, when the ruling authority flee, are afraid and surrender when they see it, only then, will I believe in Almighty God.” Are there many such people? (There are many.) When Christ our Lord was nailed to the cross, how many there who truly followed Him, truly believed in Him? There were Peter and Mary and other few who remained to watch over Him, who did not leave. All types of instances can reveal man. When accepting pruning, and being dealt with, there are some who accept the above treating them in this way, but when regular members of the congregation reveal their faults or criticize them, they will not accept; or when leaders and workers criticize them, they may first look at who the particular leader or worker is and whether or not they admire them or like them before deciding to accept such treatment from them.
Then how can people’s transgressions be solved? Just like in the pruning and dealings we encounter, we must seek the truth. They can’t be solved without seeking the truth. Some people have an understanding of the truth, and can admit some of their transgressions, while others have a deep understanding of reasons, and can admit which transgressions they might commit, but they can’t discover real transgressions. What do these people think? “I didn’t do that thing, so I didn’t transgress. Once I really do something wrong, then I’ll solve that transgression.” Is this way of thinking about it correct? Some transgressions are obvious and can be seen, some transgressions are unseen only because circumstances haven’t revealed them, the opportunity hasn’t come, so they remain hidden. But once the opportunity comes, these transgressions take shape, and they can happen anytime. Some people haven’t been pruned and dealt with, so their disobedience and hatred for the truth haven’t been revealed, but once they are seriously pruned and dealt with, gravely, as condemnation, they will immediately resist, judge, and offend. Isn’t this a serious transgression? It is. Just how serious? Such a man might curse God and abandon God on the spot. After such a transgression, can he still remain? No. After such a transgression, his life is over, and he’s sure to die. That’s why I say that without the appropriate circumstances, your nature, corruption, and arrogance may temporarily remain hidden, but this doesn’t mean you have no transgressions. It simply means that the transgressions are hidden in your heart and haven’t found the right circumstance to emerge. Someone may not have stolen offerings, but it doesn’t mean he won’t steal if the house of God arranges for him to come into contact with and manage offerings, where he might take and steal as he wishes, isn’t this a fact? Someone might not walk the path of the antichrist or become an antichrist because he hasn’t attained status, but once he attains status, within a year or two he might do all kinds of evil, and instantly become an antichrist, isn’t this the case? How should we view things like this? This isn’t a simple matter. Many outwardly have no transgressions, but given the proper circumstances, such as being in contact with offerings, they will steal, or if they are made leaders, they will become antichrists. In the right circumstances, transgressions are produced. Without solving such transgressions, can such people still remain and enter the kingdom? This is a practical issue! If I deal with an individual, some say: “That person isn’t very good at his duty! If I had his duties, I wouldn’t be dealt with.” Do you truly dare to say so? Can you be sure you’d do better than others? I think some would transgress much more seriously in his duties! Some aren’t even fit to do his duties, because their characters are unqualified. Why is it so difficult for the house of God to choose leaders and people to be in charge, to the point that sometimes we even have to repeat the process? It’s not easy to find suitable candidates! We choose someone, and people say “this person seems alright,” but those in the know tell that he has made mistakes in the dark. So he is disqualified, and another is chosen, and people see the new person as good, but he can’t accomplish things, has no effect, and can’t work, so then another vote becomes necessary. What does this illustrate? They similarly have no truth, but in terms of their character, it’s not easy to find someone with a suitable character! Is it easy for a person with bad humanity to turn good? How much truth does he need to understand and how many trials and refinements does he need to suffer for him to achieve change in his life disposition? It would take dozens of years. Peter had a good character. He was someone who truly loved the Lord and was handpicked by the Lord Jesus, as well as directly perfected by the Holy Spirit, and even he went through hundreds of trials in those seven years. How many trials must people with bad character go through? It would be many more, wouldn’t it? Peter was straightforward, had a sense of righteousness, and possessed aspirations, yet he suffered hundreds of trials in those seven years. In the end, God said that he was the person who had the most understanding of God. Among all the saints of the various eras, Peter had the greatest understanding of God. What we gain today exceeds what the saints of the old eras had, but how much have we suffered for our trials? If we haven’t suffered through enough trials and chastisement, our corruption is deeper than the saints of the old eras, and our characters are inferior. We understand much truth, but we also undeniably have many transgressions. So how can these transgressions be solved? This is a serious problem. It’s a practical and real problem which can’t be denied by anyone!
Some people say, “I don’t have many transgressions, and I’m not a leader, so I’ve committed no sins!” Is this saying correct? Some hidden transgressions can manifest anytime. You haven’t sinned because you haven’t had the chance. Some say, “We’ve been husband and wife for many years, I couldn’t possibly commit adultery!” Do you dare to guarantee that? That’s because no one has seduced you. Once somebody throws herself into your arms, you’ll lose control and consent, won’t you? Some say, “I don’t steal offerings, I don’t take a cent from offerings to God. I offer tithes. I tithe 10 percent of my income to the church.” You don’t steal here, but could you commit sin elsewhere? One day you might run out of means, and then you’ll spend the offering. It’s hard to say. If you become seriously ill, and the offering for God is in your hand, and if you don’t spend the money to treat yourself you’ll die, what will you do? Can you guarantee that you won’t spend it? If you can pray “I’d rather die than spend that money,” then you’re standing firm. The doctor says, “Your illness is dangerous, if we don’t operate and you aren’t hospitalized, you’ll die!” “I have no way out but to take out the offering and spend it!” In fact, if you truly pray, “Even if I die I won’t spend it,” you really won’t die. If you spend it, you really die, and that wouldn’t be good! Therefore, some transgressions are hidden.
Some people commit obvious transgressions. They consistently commit adultery, their behavior is always perfunctory, they always disrupt and disturb, they always scramble for power and profit, or they always tell lies and are deceitful, but they don’t seek the truth to deal with these problems. Isn’t this a dangerous thing? That’s the end for such a person. The “always” is troublesome, because it becomes his nature. This is not just about transgressions. Some people have no major outward transgressions, and only have some expressions of corruption, but they don’t pursue the truth, causing the major transgressions to be revealed. Under the right circumstances, such transgressions will appear one after another, one or two transgressions will appear each day. One occurrence takes place after another, and disasters pile up on one another. This is all too possible. Without the truth, you can neither stop nor control these problems. Isn’t that the case? Look at people being arrested. Once those who are timid and afraid enter prison, and tortures begin, what transgressions immediately follow? First, he becomes treacherous against the Lord and friends. Second, he swears to betray God. Third, when others want him to curse God, he does so. Fourth, he becomes a Judas and arrests his brothers and sisters—a chain of events occurs. When transgressions come, they come in a chain. Disasters pile up! If one does not love the truth, when things happen and trials descend, all is revealed! It’s like people who ignore diseases. One day an illness manifests itself and all other illnesses follow suit, a chain of illnesses occurs, it gets out of hand, and then gets totally out of control!
Is it dangerous for people not to pursue the truth? In those who don’t pursue the truth, great transgressions can occur anytime. A chain of transgressions can happen, and those transgressions shall take you to hell. There are two situations when transgressions can send people to hell. First, your transgressions directly offend God’s disposition, causing God’s anger and curses to descend, which will send you to hell. Second, this transgression directly causes you to abandon yourself to despair, shout abuse, and betray God. When you have no transgressions, you see a ray of hope, but once you have serious transgressions, you give up on yourself, and then things are out of control. Doesn’t that mean transgressions take people away from God and cause them to utterly betray God? This outcome also means transgressions send people to hell. Many people have had such experiences. After serious transgressions, they begin to be negative and give up on themselves. They think, “It’s the end of everything, there’s no use in continuing to believe. It’s alright for you to believe, but not me. I’m surely going to hell.” No matter how others try to comfort him, he’ll say, “No, God’s words make it clear.” This is the terrible outcome transgressions bring about for people! It’s like a person who has cancer. The moment he knows he has cancer, his confidence disappears, his will to live is gone, he thinks there’s no cure, he thinks he’s surely going to die, he quickly falls into despair, and he simply waits for death. Transgressions are much the same! Now do you know how frightening transgressions are? Let’s not mention that the nature of transgressions can incite God’s disgust, hatred, and conviction. Let’s talk about the direct effects of transgressions on people, which include making them despondent, weak, lacking in faith, give up on themselves, and directly betray God. If a man truly understands some truth, he doesn’t worry about his future and fate. He says, “I have transgressed, but I now pursue living in accordance with God’s will. I pursue the truth and change, no matter how God may judge me. Even if God convicts me of sin and throws me into hell, I still shall pursue the truth and to be a good person, and when there’s a chance, I will repay God’s love!” Is this a good attitude? People with this attitude won’t be despondent, and transgressions can’t defeat them.
Why do people give up on themselves when they transgress? What does it show about people? It shows that their belief in God is impure, that they believe in God to obtain blessings rather than to gain the truth and life; therefore, they make mistakes and know they can’t remain to enter the kingdom of heaven, they give up on themselves. If a person believes in God with the right intentions, has the proper views, in order to gain the truth, they will strive to pursue it, conduct themselves properly, regardless of their ending or whether God judges them, and they will repay God’s love whenever they find the chance, and they won’t suffer such restraints. Those who don’t seek blessings, but instead seek the truth and life—the more they believe like this, the more they please God. But for those who seek blessings, sooner or later God will give you trials to expose you, because the problem must be solved, and must be exposed so that you recognize it. This is why many people, when are pruned and dealt with, and meet with trials and refinement, and shown the extent of their problem, become despondent. But after being despondent thirty times, or fifty times, they realize, “The root of my despondence is my yearning for blessings, so I shouldn’t be bothered about my despondence, because yearning for blessings is wrong, and this is the problem that needs to be solved.” When God gives people the truth and when He judges and chastises people, does He express the truth because of people’s desire for blessings? No, God’s purpose is to save people, help people obtain the truth, and walk the right path of life. He uses the truth to guide us, purify us, create change in our life disposition, help us walk the true path of life, and help us become people who submit to God and worship God. If you understand God’s will, you won’t be controlled by concerns about your future and fate. You’ll say, “I shall pursue the truth hard, regardless of circumstances or how God treats me. He is the Creator and dominates overall, so we shall submit to Him even if He requires us who pursue the truth to die, we shall submit to Him if He lets us enter the kingdom of heaven, and we shall submit to Him no matter how He makes arrangements or arranges our fate. Our obedience to God should be absolute, and our pursuit of the truth is necessary.” People without personal intentions find it easy to believe in God.
Some will say: “It could be easy, but who can achieve that? Who can give up a yearning for blessings so easily? It’s hard to give up a yearning for blessings!” What do you think about this? Is it right to say this? It’s both right and practical, because it’s the truth. So how do you give it up? Seek the truth! All things must be accomplished through seeking the truth and then praying to God. Only God can accomplish this, it’s not something people can give up by themselves. Some things are easier to give up than others, but some things are really difficult to give up, this is a fact, and it’s a fact that applies to everyone. Most pray for a long time before they give up their jobs, no one does so easily and joyfully. Especially when it comes to abandoning family, wife, husband, and children, it’s difficult. It may take a long time to pray. If you give it all up abruptly, you’ll still be unable to let go, and you’ll still keep it in your heart for a long time, that’s all real. But in such matters you must seek the truth. Once you understand the truth you need to cope, won’t you feel better? That relief will help make it hurt less the next time you forsake something, and that allows you to forsake a portion of it. Then, if you pray to God, God will do His work, because God has means, and God will cause things to happen to you that will increase your faith, and so in time, you will be able to basically forsake something. Although some restraints and pain may remain in your heart, the ability to forsake gives you the ability to transcend the worldly. It isn’t easy, but it is a reality that God makes.
Do you need to pray to solve transgressions? On one hand, you must seek the truth, recognize the essence of transgressions, and know how they should be treated. If we feel something is devilish, negative, and hated by God, then we should pray to God and let Him work. Once God works, we will meet trials, refinement, and suffering, but in the end, we will see clearly the issue and have our transgressions solved, and when the chance to transgress comes again, we won’t do it. When it is absolutely impossible that we transgress again, it means our tendency to transgress has been thoroughly solved. Some may say, “People need to address transgressions by themselves, there’s no need to pray to God. If you pray to God, God will say, ‘I’ve asked you to practice the truth, why aren’t you putting My words into practice?’” Is this correct? Some people say it isn’t. Where is the mistake? What people say and how people think may have reasons, but when God works there will be good effect. If the work is left to people alone, which involves keeping rules, exercising restraint, forsaking, gritting one's teeth, and being resolute, such effects would be temporary, limited, and impermanent. But once God works, He enlightens you so that you can understand the essence of the truth, understand His will, and produce real faith. This is strength and life, and once this becomes a person’s life, he will have the strength to overcome temptations and transgressions. Is this the path? The way, the truth, and the life are realized thusly and experienced thusly. The truth becomes your life, and life produces the path you should walk and the choice you should make. Solving transgressions is similar.
If you don’t believe me, then keep praying to God, keep begging God, “Oh God! Guide me and help me recognize the essence of this transgression, help me grasp the truth of this matter, and take away this transgression!” Outwardly there may not be any obvious, special, or profound words in the prayer, and there’s no sight of God’s work; nonetheless, after praying for a couple of years the feeling arrives. You become disgusted and hateful toward your transgression. Whenever you think about it, you feel sickened and disgusted. You belittle it and your heart departs from it, as if you’ll never be able to perform such deed again. Why? Can you produce such a feeling on your own? Where does it come from? Isn’t this God guarding and blessing you? You can’t produce such a feeling through hard work and practice, can you? Therefore, you only need to pray, and you shall see the wonderful work of God. And when you pray to the last, outwardly you may not appear to have obtained God’s revelation, you may not see God speaking to you, and you may not see God granting you with vision, but inwardly there’s already a change. The transgression has truly departed. The effect has been achieved. That’s why we say prayers are wonderful things. Many have too little experience with prayer. They say, “Praying is whispering a few sentences to God. You can’t hear God speak and you can’t receive God’s revelations, can problems really be solved? Does it actually work?” Saying that shows a lack of experience, if you had experience you’d know, you wouldn’t need people to tell you. Without experience, you can’t know, with experience, you simply can feel it. God’s work is to reveal to believers and to reveal His actions. If you truly believe, God’s Spirit works, but if you don’t, He doesn’t. That’s why, no matter what you are praying about, in the long run you shall truly see wonderful effects and the works of God. God works confidentially, He doesn’t even talk or have a voice. Even if you pray for a long time, you won’t hear a sound or see miracles, but things will truly change, objectives will be achieved, and God will cause the things you pray for to be accomplished. Even though nothing may be seen outwardly, it will already be fact, and your words will have been accomplished. Isn’t this a path to solve transgressions? Do you believe that through such prayers, our transgressions can slowly be solved? If you believe, you should pray and beg God. But remember, you also need to seek the truth. If you don’t seek the truth and only pray, and only wait for God to work, that won’t do. When you seek the truth and God sees it, God says, “This is sincerity; I shall make the arrangements for you.” What God does is primarily to make you understand the truth. God uses His words to accomplish everything during His work in the last days. When you experience God’s words and work, you must also seek the truth for your prayers to be accepted and are blessed by God. You need to understand this principle. Now do you understand the path to solving transgressions? Pray to God, depend on God, and seek the truth. It won’t work without seeking the truth; achieving growth in life depends on seeking the truth, understanding the truth, and entering the truth. When people pray, God protects them and grants them with wisdom. This happens frequently. However, if people refuse to pursue the truth all along, they cannot obtain life, and their life disposition will not change.
Some say, “I’ve had some transgressions, which proves my human nature is bad, is there no salvation for me?” Well, is there salvation? How should we treat this matter? You shouldn’t think about whether or not there is salvation, because that’s selfish and despicable. What does the question of “is there salvation” reveal? He wholeheartedly wants to enter heavenly kingdom, nothing else. He wants to resolve his transgressions to enter heavenly kingdom, he reads the words of God to enter heavenly kingdom, he leaves family and performs his duty to enter heavenly kingdom. He does it all to enter the heavenly kingdom. Are such people not selfish and despicable? Can there be considerations about God’s will in this? His only concerns are for his own blessings. Such people are extremely selfish and despicable. We have to be clear about such things. If we lack the penetration to see through them entirely, what is the minimal degree of penetration we need? Firstly, God is righteous, and because God is a righteous God, we cannot offend Him. We need to be able to be after God’s heart. God cannot be offended. This is basic knowledge, and it should be understood. Second, God has dominion over all. God has the final say about everything in the entire universe. How God wants to manage and arrange things has all been predetermined. None of us can change anything. Besides, God’s dominion and arrangements often leave people puzzled, because God’s wisdom and realm are far too high. His good intention, dominion, and arrangement imbue whatever He wants to do, whether or not they suit the notions of man. People should just be submissive. People’s understanding is always limited. God tells us a little bit, and we get to understand a little bit. What God doesn’t tell us, we shall never understand. Isn’t this a fact? This fact shows how insignificant humans are. Men need only submit to God’s dominion and arrangements, and shouldn’t think too much for themselves. Before God, we humans are unworthy. We are just like dust. That’s why you mustn’t always surround yourself and focus on issues concerning your own fate and future. That’s selfish and despicable. You need magnanimity. Be submissive to God. If God says, “After you are done pursuing the truth, you should go to hell,” then we go to hell. If God says: “I’m handing you over to Satan,” God still should be praised. As we weep, we still should praise God. You ought to be submissive to God in your heart. Place submission to God above all things. Whether or not you receive blessings should come second, third, or even fourth. Don’t consider blessings. Submission to God is the highest maxim in life. It’s a hundred times more important than receiving blessings for yourself, being praised by God, or getting rewards from God. Those aren’t important. It’s enough to have this idea in your heart, so that one day, if it seems death is approaching, and you think, “Oh, this is a great disaster,” or perhaps death truly is approaching, you won’t lament, you won’t blame God, and you won’t hurt too much. If you insist on seeking blessings, and don’t surrender it to a certain extent, when the true trial comes and death does approach, you still can complain about God, be disobedient toward God, resist God, will you not be making a fool of yourself? If you have believed in vain, believed in God unsuccessfully, and missed out on the truth because you aren’t truly submissive, isn’t that troublesome? If you submit to receive blessings, how can that be called submission? Don’t submit to receive blessings. Even in disasters you should still submit. What’s most important is to be a creature who’s truly submissive to God. Be submissive no matter how God dominates. With this conviction, by reaching this state, people can become truly submissive to God. Once people become truly submissive to God, even in death, descending into hell, or perishing, they won’t blame God, they will instead praise Him, praise Him like Job did. In this way, your believing in God has been successful, and truth is attained. So, when an individual with transgressions and expressions of corruption is pruned and dealt with, he becomes resigned to his failure. Does this not infer selfishness and despicability? This is about being selfish and despicable, because his hopes for blessings are extinguished, and he’s worried that he won’t receive God’s blessings. Thus, he produces negativity and complaints and becomes resigned to never catching up. This is driven by the desire to receive blessings. This is an outcome dominated by his satanic nature. Are there many such people? Do these people possess the truth? None at all. Once dealt with he’s utterly disappointed, negative, and becomes resigned to never catching up. This proves that his life disposition hasn’t changed!
Some say, “When pruned and dealt with, can people whose life disposition has been changed still be in full swing, happy and joyful? Is this possible?” Do you think this is possible? This too is impossible. Their mood will be heavy and pained when they are pruned and dealt with. This is normal. However, he who understands the truth will recognize himself. He will make use of the occasion to reflect on himself, and then pray to God, “Oh God, what I am lacking now, and what this pruning and dealing with reveals, I now understand. I see clearly what problems exist inside of me—my corrupt disposition, proving that there’s too little change in my life disposition. I am not after Your heart!” Have such a real prayer and communication with God, and then seek a path to practice. Although there isn’t much happiness or joy on this path, and there’s some bitterness, there are no smiles, and not much in the way of release, his heart is steady, he is energetic and not at all negative, he performs his duties normally, he’s not ruled over, the resolution to expend for God isn’t reduced at all, and there is no deficiency in his principles as he practices the truth. This is a normal situation. This is the effect people who understand the truth can reach. An individual who constantly worries for his future and fate, and is selfish and despicable won’t do. With a little frustration or failure, he’ll think, “It’s all over, I’ve been eliminated!” Just a little pruning and dealing will make him think: “It’s all gone, I’ve been exposed, I’m completely done for!” It’s always such argument. Has such an individual achieved change in his life disposition? Does he understand the truth? Does he consider God’s will? Essentially, no! He has no reality of the truth, so when something happens he becomes a pitiful sight others can’t bear to see. He’s pitiful and pathetic. He lacks strength. Without truth, such character surfaces regardless of age. Isn’t that the case?
“Do not judge My words, and still less should you take them lightly or say that I am always tempting you or, worse, that what I have told you is inaccurate. These things I also find intolerable.” What does God find intolerable? Here are two sentences: “I hope you will indulge Me and, moreover, that you will be able to believe My every utterance and infer the deep implications of My words. Do not doubt what I say, let alone pick up My words as you wish and toss them aside at will; this I find intolerable.” Aren’t these two things intolerable? Write down these two intolerable items, and then carve them in your heart. Do not upset God in these two aspects. This is very important! These two things are about attitudinal issues regarding God’s words. “Do not judge My words.” What is meant by judging God’s words? That is understanding God’s words based on human interpretation, and defining God’s words based on human interpretation. Also there’s guessing—guessing God’s meaning, and guessing God’s heart. There’s another type, which is arbitrarily making comments about God’s words. Also included are casting doubts and making accusations. All of these fall under judging God’s words. “[S]till less should you take them lightly.” What is the meaning of “take them lightly”? Casualness, meaning not taking them seriously. Treating God’s words casually is to treat God’s words as ordinary, or treat them like human words, or treat them as a general thing, or not take God’s words seriously, or not treat them as God’s warnings, or not treat them as the Creator’s words. If you don’t attach importance to God’s words to the extent of thinking, “These are the greatest maxims of human life. These are God’s exhortations,” it means you are taking God’s words lightly. Taking God’s words lightly is intolerable to God. God doesn’t care about how far or near your heart is from God. What’s crucial is that you are a believer, and that you are one who comes to God and experiences His work. If you treat God’s words in the ways described above, it would be intolerable by God. It’s not intolerable by God for you to not believe in God. There’s no pain in that. Why? When God’s time comes, God has made the arrangements for how things should be dealt with. You see that Satan judges God, and the great red dragon is resisting God and doing all kinds of evil. This does not make God uncomfortable. Why? God has determined to destroy it, so He need not feel uncomfortable. From God’s point of view, it will be destroyed and become ash just within a mere three seconds in the cosmic scale of time. Therefore, no matter how the great red dragon jumps or bounces, God doesn’t feel that intolerable. What’s most intolerable by God is that people who believe in God are casual with His words and don’t take His words seriously. How should we comprehend God’s mind in this matter? Isn’t this matter worthwhile for us to try to figure out? It is worthwhile. Then why is it intolerable to God? Unbelievers resist and judge, yet God doesn’t mention them being intolerable. Only when it comes to how God’s people treat His words does God mention “I find intolerable” twice. Isn’t this an important question? Is this still an ordinary matter? No. Some say, “God’s words cannot be treated casually or judgmentally, so I don’t judge, and I don’t treat them casually. Additionally, I don’t doubt them. If I pick them up, I won’t discard them, I will hold them in my hands and read them. This wouldn’t cause God to be upset, would it? Wouldn’t this satisfy God?” Is this understanding correct? Some say no, so what’s the correct way to understand this? What is meant by not being casual? What is “pick up My words as you wish and toss them aside at will”? What do these things refer to? Most importantly, it refers to your mentality. How do some people treat a copy of God’s words? They treat it just like an unbeliever’s book or old newspaper. They take a brief look; “bang,” and throw it away. It’s not about the way it’s done. What matters most is that this treatment represents a kind of disposition, doesn’t it?
The book The Word Appears in the Flesh, which contains God’s words is the way to eternal life as expressed by the Christ of the last days. It is the truth and life unobtained by saints of the past generations. More so, it is the mystery of eternal life which unbelievers have sought for over millennia. It is all here. Never mind that this book of God’s words doesn’t cost much to publish. Its value and far-reaching significance are incomprehensible! It’s quite possible that this book of God’s words shall bring you to the heavenly kingdom and grant you eternal life. It’s also possible that this book of God’s words shall allow you to be perfected by God and obtain God’s promises. It can also be said that this book of God’s words can condemn you, so that you are forever doomed to destruction and perdition—your life and death are both contained in this book of God’s words. So do you think this book of God’s words can be measured by its publishing cost? No. Then how should God’s words be treated? On one hand, God’s words must be respected. You must cherish this book, you must take God’s words seriously. These are words of life, and you must read of it each day, a few paragraphs or a chapter. This is your food of life. While alive, people should store not just material food, but also the food of life. One needs to read, communicate, ponder, understand diligently, and practice daily. Besides, one must memorize some of God’s words, so that when something happens, they can be used and pondered, and one must find truth in God’s words. Additionally, some essential words of God must be held every day, because they are people’s life. If you want to hold on to your life, then God’s words are your guardian angel! God’s words guide you and perfect you. It’s true. The most important point is that we must practice God’s words every day, and never give up! How many God’s words should people practice every day? At least eight or ten sentences. First, pray to God and worship God; entrust to God’s hand the entire period of the day and the happenings of the day. Pray to God, seek, and fellowship. Can communication and prayers ever be apart from God’s words? Pray to God in accordance with God’s words. Seek from God and communicate with Him. Do not depart from God’s words. If your prayer and fellowship contain not even a sentence of God’s words, that’s a problem, because it means you have no life. The second aspect of implementing God’s words daily is to be an honest person. The third aspect is to discern Satan and see through Satan’s tricks. The fourth aspect is to practice love of God and practice loving your neighbor as yourself. The fifth aspect is to do one’s duty well every day, and there are many duties one ought to do! The sixth aspect is to seek the principles of the truth while performing your duty, so that work can be done according to principles. The seventh aspect, which is also the most important one, is to fear God and shun evil. Pray when tempted, seek the truth, do no evil. The eighth aspect is to praise God daily. Praise God by singing hymns. Praise God by dancing. Offer to God thanks and praise for whichever aspects you have received mercy, and you have been blessed, enlightened, and shined upon. How many aspects are there for daily implementation of the truth? Broadly speaking, at least eight or ten. From the perspective of the truth, there are twenty to thirty aspects.
Many things happen to people each day. How many aspects of the truth are involved in our contact with our brothers and sisters? One aspect is to love one another, submit to one another, and forgive one another. Another is to coordinate together in harmony and submit to the truth. Moreover, one should fulfill their duties, help others when they need, water others when they need and treat others with love. Furthermore, there must be discrimination and rejection of false leaders, antichrists, and wicked people. Act according to principles. Guard against Satan’s tricks. Guard against disturbance and confusion by the wicked. Be discriminating in how others speak. We have to accept and submit to whoever has the reality of the truth. See how people have gone through experiences. There must be discrimination against those who spread fallacies and falsehoods, and carry with them Satan’s tricks. You should know how to treat such things, so as to shame Satan. Once you come into contact with people, are these matters not revealed? This way, you have the principles of the truth in all things that happen each day. You’ll know how to implement God’s words, how to face things, and how to solve the problems you discover. This means being submissive to God’s words and experiencing God’s words. God’s heart is comforted when you treat His words in this way. Suppose in your daily life, when something happens to you, you don’t seek the truth in God’s words, you don’t experience and implement God’s words, you don’t act based on the principles of the truth, and you don’t pray to God. If you do this, you are just like people who pick up God’s words, or hear God’s words and understand them, and then discard them, without the slightest implementation. That’s the meaning of this sentence. Such an individual still believes in God, experiences the work of God, and gives up everything he has and does his duty, yet he doesn’t implement God’s words in the slightest. He doesn’t seek the truth in doing his duties at all. He does not work according to principles. All of his deeds would interrupt and disturb the work in the house of God. Doesn’t this type of people take God’s words lightly? He disdains, discards, refuses, and resists in his attitude toward God’s words. If one is an unbeliever, this is called being sick of the truth and hating the truth. If he is a believer, God will say he takes God’s words lightly, and this is intolerable to God. If people who believe in God take God’s words lightly, judge God’s words, don’t accept God’s words, and don’t practice God’s words, what are such people? They are people outside of God’s words, and God treats them as unbelievers.
Some who serve as leaders refuse to offend people. They pretend to be kind, and maintain a friendly but superficial relationship with others. They don’t convey the words said by the brother above or even by God, and they don’t fellowship about them with their brothers and sisters. What kind of a leader or worker would you call this? What is his attitude toward God’s words? He takes them lightly, doesn’t take them seriously, and ignores them. “If I convey Your words, it would offend people, so I’m not doing it. I’ll just keep quiet. You’ve spoken in vain!” Treating God’s words as being spoken in vain—that’s how some leaders behave. Other leaders are deliberately contrarian. Even when they know God’s words, they don’t implement them. They won’t listen to God’s words. Even when the man used by the Holy Spirit “translates” God’s words into plain language and communicate to them, conveying the meaning of God’s words using plain language and dialects, they still don’t accept. When other people then use words to deal with them to uncover the facts and prune, still they refuse to practice. Eventually, the house of God exhausts its means, and judges them directly, using administrative means to resolve the issue, “Do it again and you will be expelled.” Only when the word “expelled” is uttered do they cease such behavior. What is such a man? Without mentioning expelling, he’d continue his behavior and refuse to listen, but when expelling is mentioned, he becomes frightened. Would you say such people practice the words of God? Are people who don’t practice the words of God not devils and Satan? They are genuine devils and Satans! Therefore, we can say with certainty that among all those performing their duties, a portion is devils and Satans. They are typical service-doers, and such people don’t obtain the truth easily, because they always disrespect, judge, defy, and trample on the words of God, and even conflict, oppose, and hate the words of God. So, is it excessive to say that those people are devils and Satans? Considering their performance, disposition, and attitude, we can say so without the slightest excessiveness. Some people don’t take it this way. When I’ve finished speaking, what they hear is, “The brother above arbitrarily convicts God’s chosen people! That’s pure exaggeration!” What kind of people say this? Devils and Satans. Remember those who make such utterances and look at their endings, see if they suffer retribution for that later, and you’ll know whether they are devils and Satans. You may not see anything happening now, but don’t be impatient. The period when a person performs their duties is only to reveal the person. If a devil or Satan appears and is suddenly killed by lightning, another devil or Satan appears and is suddenly killed by the plague, and another devil or Satan appears and is suddenly killed by illness, then none would dare behave in foolish ways that reveal themselves, and God’s work would appear to be supernatural. Would God do that? God can’t do that, because God works through normal means. People are here communicating God’s words, and outwardly it’s people who are doing work, but even when people are working, it is the Holy Spirit who leads and arranges. It is the Holy Spirit who enlightens and illuminates. Therefore, it is undoubtedly the truth, the Holy Spirit, and Christ is in power in the church. For Christ to be in power, it means that God’s words are in power. For God’s words to be in power, it means that the Holy Spirit is in power. For the Holy Spirit to be in power, it means that God is in power. For Christ to be in power, it means that God is in power. Some people say, “Since God is in power, how is it that there is this devil or Satan still doing evil and defying, and not dead?” He’s not dead. Does that mean that God isn’t in power? That’s the meaning of revealing a person, and this is the wisdom of God. Some people just can’t see this thing. People who don’t understand spiritual matters can’t understand anything! Today, aren’t all forms of the devil Satan basically being revealed? What shall be the ending for these people? It’s basically already determined.
Some say, “This passage of God’s words is to make us deal with our transgressions. There are some people who have some corrupt expressions or who do evil and resist God and have been convicted. They have been determined to be devils and Satans. If their transgressions have been resolved, can they still be saved?” How do you think about such matters? If truly the transgressions have been resolved, of course salvation can be obtained. Nonetheless, are people whose transgressions can be settled in the majority or in the minority? That’s difficult to tell. For a man who delights in the truth, no matter how you judge and chastise him, or how you determine him to be a devil or Satan, it’s alright. He can submit and accept, eventually achieve change, and be saved. For he who has not been determined to be a devil or Satan, but doesn’t implement the truth, doesn’t accept the truth, and does no major wickedness outwardly, can he eventually be saved? No. Why? Because he lacks the truth! That’s why we say outwardly many people have been pruned and dealt with, and have gone through trials, they have committed many transgressions, but because they pursue the truth, can accept the truth, and submit to the truth, their life dispositions are changed, their past transgressions are solved. They no longer commit transgressions. Such people are not condemned, and will receive God’s praise. Eventually, they shall be saved. The words of God say: “Regardless of how man may have opposed God in the past, when man comes to understand the purpose of God’s work and dedicates his efforts to satisfying God, God will wipe clean all of his former sins. As long as man seeks the truth and practices the truth, God will not keep in mind what he has done. Moreover, it is on the basis of man’s practice of the truth that God justifies him. This is the righteousness of God.” Therefore, regardless of the number of transgressions, what matters is whether people can accept the truth, can submit to the truth, and achieve change in life disposition. This is the most important thing! We must believe in God’s words. God’s words are the truth. All things are accomplished in accordance with God’s words. God accomplishes everything and decides each person’s ending in accordance with God’s words, and this is the absolute truth.
This sermon about the passage of God’s word “Transgressions Will Lead Man to Hell” ends here. Goodbye!
