520 God Will Bless Those Who Sincerely Pursue the Truth

Verse 1

What is discipline by the Holy Spirit?

What is blame born of man’s will?

What is guidance from the Holy Spirit?

The arrangement of an environment?

What is God’s words enlightening within?

If you’re not clear about these things,

you’ll have no discernment.

Chorus

God will not mistreat those sincerely seeking Him

or anyone who lives Him out and bears witness.

He will not curse a person able to sincerely thirst for truth.

Verse 2

You should know what comes from the Spirit,

what rebellion is, how to obey God’s word,

escaping your rebelliousness.

If you understand these things,

you’ll have a foundation;

when something happens,

you’ll have truth to compare to,

with suitable visions grounding you,

principled in all you do,

acting according to the truth,

enlightened and blessed by God.

Chorus

God will not mistreat those sincerely seeking Him

or anyone who lives Him out and bears witness.

He will not curse a person able to sincerely thirst for truth.

Verse 3

When eating and drinking God’s words,

if you see your true condition

and pay attention to your practice

and your own understanding,

then when you meet a problem,

you will be enlightened,

gain understanding and discernment,

and have a path of practice.

Bridge

A person with truth is unlikely to be deceived,

or cause disruptions, acting excessively.

Because of truth he’s protected

and gains more understanding, more paths to practice,

more chances for the Holy Spirit’s work and perfection.

Chorus

God will not mistreat those sincerely seeking Him

or anyone who lives Him out and bears witness.

He will not curse a person able to sincerely thirst for truth.
