134 God’s Essence Is Immutable
Chorus
God’s disposition and substance are immutable.
Changes in His name and work
don’t mean His substance has changed.
Verse 1
If you say God’s work can’t change, then how would He be able
to finish His six-thousand-year management plan?
You know God is immutable, but did you also know
God is always new and He is never, never old?
Verse 2
If He can’t change, then how did He lead man to today?
And how has He done the work of two ages?
His work always moves forward, His inherent disposition
is gradually revealed to all mankind.
Chorus
Oh, God’s disposition and substance are immutable.
Changes in His name and work
don’t mean His substance has changed.
In other words, God will always be God,
and this, this will never, never change.
Verse 3
God’s disposition was hidden from man in the beginning.
Man simply had no knowledge of Him.
So God uses His work to reveal it to man.
But this does not mean it changes every age.
Verse 4
It’s not that it changes for God’s will is changing.
Rather, it’s revealed step by step, so man may know Him.
But this is not proof that God’s disposition
is not inherent or has changed by ages.
Chorus
Oh, God’s disposition and substance are immutable.
Changes in His name and work
don’t mean His substance has changed.
In other words, God will always be God,
and this, this will never, never change.
Bridge
Oh, God reveals to man what He is by the ages,
as one age can’t express His entire disposition.
“God is always new, never old” refers to His work.
“God is immutable” refers to what He has and is,
what He has and is.
Verse 5
You can’t make 6,000-year work hinge upon one point,
or curb it with dead words—such is man’s stupidity.
God is not as simple as man imagines,
and His work cannot linger in any, any one age, in any one age.
Chorus
God’s disposition and substance are immutable.
Changes in His name and work
don’t mean His substance has changed.
In other words, God will always be God,
and this, this will never, never change.
