919 God’s Creation Should Obey His Authority

Verse 1

God’s a consuming fire who won’t stand offense.

Man has no right to interfere or critique

His work and words, they must obey them,

because man was created by Him.

Chorus

God is the Lord, the Lord of creation,

using His authority to reign over His people.

All creatures should obey it,

do what He asks with reverence,

should not reason, not reason or resist.

Verse 2

Though you’re bold, presumptuous, disobey God’s words,

He meets your rebelliousness with tolerance.

He will keep His temper, carry on His work,

not caring about maggots writhing in dung.

Chorus

God is the Lord, the Lord of creation,

using His authority to reign over His people.

All creatures should obey it,

do what He asks with reverence,

should not reason, not reason or resist.

Bridge

God puts up with all He loathes

for the sake of the will of God

until His utterances are complete,

until His very last moment.

Chorus

God is the Lord, the Lord of creation,

using His authority to reign over His people.

All creatures should obey it,

do what He asks with reverence,

should not reason, not reason or resist.
