287 Does Man Control His Own Fate?

Intro

Since God has led you to this point,

He has made arrangements that are fit.

If He told you His plans and aims,

would you honestly know these things?

Verse 1

God is well acquainted with thoughts

coming from man’s mind, his heart’s wish.

Who has never looked for ways out?

Who’s never thought of their prospects?

Yet though man’s possessed of a rich

and a dazzling intellect,

who could predict, after the ages,

the present would turn out like this?

Is this fruit of your own efforts?

Payment for your tireless strain?

Is it the beautiful tableau

that your mind has portrayed?

Chorus

Who of the whole of mankind

is not cared for in the Almighty’s eyes?

Who doesn’t live in the midst

of what the Almighty destined?

Whose birth, death come from their choice?

Whose birth, death come from their choice?

Does man control his own fate?

Verse 2

Without God’s leading, who’d have a way

outside of what He has arranged?

Is it man’s imaginings and wishes

that have brought him to today?

Many live life, their hopes unmet.

Is it due to faults in their thoughts?

Many live with unforeseen joy.

Is this from not wanting a lot?

Many people cry out for death,

yet it is far away from them.

Many wish to be strong, fearing death,

yet it draws near, consuming them.

Chorus

Who of the whole of mankind

is not cared for in the Almighty’s eyes?

Who doesn’t live in the midst

of what the Almighty destined?

Whose birth, death come from their choice?

Whose birth, death come from their choice?

Does man control his own fate?

Bridge

Many wail, sob, look to the skies.

Many fall to what tempts, fail trials.

God doesn’t appear before man,

but many fear to behold Him,

afraid that He will strike them down.

Does man truly know Him or not?

Does man truly know?

Chorus

Who of the whole of mankind

is not cared for in the Almighty’s eyes?

Who doesn’t live in the midst

of what the Almighty destined?

Whose birth, death come from their choice?

Whose birth, death come from their choice?

Does man control his own fate?
