572 Those Who Doubt and Speculate About God Are the Most Deceitful

Verse 1

God delights in those not suspicious of others

and those who readily accept the truth.

He shows great care for them;

in His eyes they’re honest.

If you’re deceitful, you’ll be guarded

and doubt all men and things.

Then your faith will be built on suspicion.

God could never acknowledge this faith.

Lacking true faith, you’re even more devoid of true love.

Chorus

If you doubt God and speculate about Him,

then you are surely a most deceitful person.

Verse 2

You question if God can be like man,

deeply sinful and of petty character,

devoid of reason, no fairness or justice,

cunning and vicious, pleased by evil and darkness.

Don’t people who believe this lack knowledge of God?

Such faith is nothing short of sin!

Chorus

If you doubt God and speculate about Him,

then you are surely a most deceitful person.

Bridge

Some believe flattery earns God’s favor,

and those who lack such skills

won’t be liked in the house of God.

Is this the only knowledge

you’ve gained over the years?

More than misunderstandings,

you blaspheme God’s Spirit and Heaven.

That’s why God says your faith

will make you stray further

and be in greater opposition against Him.

You’ve seen many truths through God’s work.

Do you know what God has heard?

How many among you are willing to accept the truth?

Chorus

If you doubt God and speculate about Him,

then you are surely a most deceitful person.
