777 Emulate Peter’s Experience
Verse 1
The great refinement Peter got
was because of the things he did.
He felt he owed God too much,
he couldn’t make it up to Him.
He saw that mankind is corrupt,
so he had a guilty conscience.
Verse 2
Jesus said many things to him,
there was so little he figured out.
Sometimes he opposed and rebelled.
Till Jesus was nailed to the cross,
then Peter awakened with guilt.
At last no wrong thought he’d permit.
Pre-chorus 1
After he underwent God’s work,
he gained discernment and insight,
grasped the principles of service,
and honored what Jesus assigned.
Chorus
The reason he was a model
was because he suffered the most,
what he went through was successful.
So if you walk the path that way,
then not a single creature
can take your blessings away,
not a single creature
can take your blessings away.
Verse 3
Peter knew his state very well,
and he was deeply aware of
the holiness of the Lord,
and so from all Peter’s knowledge,
his heart of love for the Lord grew,
and he focused on his life more.
Verse 4
Due to this he suffered hardships.
It seemed he was so ill at times,
and he would seem nigh to death’s door.
Being refined so many times,
he understood himself much more,
developing true love for the Lord.
Pre-chorus 2
His life underwent refinement,
and in chastisement it was spent.
His experience was different,
his love beat those not perfected.
Chorus
The reason he was a model
was because he suffered the most,
what he went through was successful.
So if you walk the path that way,
then not a single creature
can take your blessings away,
not a single creature
can take your blessings away.
