764 To Love God, You Must Experience His Loveliness

Verse 1

If people believe in God

and experience words of God

with a heart that reveres Him,

they’ll have God’s salvation and love.

These people can witness to God,

they live the truth and they witness

God’s being and disposition.

They see God’s love, live amidst it.

Chorus

If people wish to love God,

they must taste God’s loveliness,

they must see God’s loveliness;

only then can there be roused in them

a heart that loves God

and loyally expends for God.

Verse 2

God won’t make people love Him

by words or imagination.

He doesn’t force people but lets them

love Him of their own volition.

He makes them see how He’s lovely

in His words and the work He does,

and after that there is born inside them

a true love for God.

Pre-chorus

Only this way can people bear

a true testimony to God.

They don’t love God from being urged,

nor on emotional impulse.

Chorus

If people wish to love God,

they must taste God’s loveliness,

they must see God’s loveliness;

only then can there be roused in them

a heart that loves God

and loyally expends for God.

Bridge

They love God because they see

how He’s lovely,

they see there’s so much of Him

that’s loveworthy.

They’ve seen God’s salvation, wisdom,

His wondrous deeds.

And this is why they praise God

and yearn for Him,

aroused in them such passion

that they couldn’t survive without gaining God.

Chorus

If people wish to love God,

they must taste God’s loveliness,

they must see God’s loveliness;

only then can there be roused in them

a heart that loves God

and loyally expends for God,

and loyally expends for God.
