696 You Must Know How to Experience God’s Work

Verse 1

Most people don’t know

how to experience God’s work.

When they have an issue,

they don’t know what to do.

They’re unable to lead spiritual lives.

You must take God’s words

and work into daily life.

Chorus

If you don’t experience God’s work,

then you will never be perfected.

When you can experience it

and ponder it any time, any place,

when you can leave the shepherds

and live independently,

reliant on God, seeing His deeds,

only then will God’s will be achieved.

Verse 2

Sometimes God gives you a feeling

where you lose joy and His presence,

you’re plunged into darkness;

this is a refinement.

When all you do goes wrong,

this is God’s discipline.

No one sees your rebellious acts,

but God surely does.

Pre-chorus 1

He’ll surely discipline you.

The Spirit’s work is detailed.

He observes words, thoughts and actions,

giving man awareness within.

Chorus

If you don’t experience God’s work,

then you will never be perfected.

When you can experience it

and ponder it any time, any place,

when you can leave the shepherds

and live independently,

reliant on God, seeing His deeds,

only then will God’s will be achieved.

Verse 3

Something you do goes wrong,

then another, and another.

Gradually you’ll understand

the work of the Holy Spirit.

Through much discipline,

you will learn what’s in line with His will,

in the end rightly responding

to His guidance within you.

Pre-chorus 2

Sometimes you’ll be rebellious,

thus rebuked by God from within.

This all comes from God’s discipline.

Chorus

If you don’t experience God’s work,

then you will never be perfected.

When you can experience it

and ponder it any time, any place,

when you can leave the shepherds

and live independently,

reliant on God, seeing His deeds,

only then will God’s will be achieved.

Outro

If you slight God’s word and work,

He will pay you no mind.

But the more seriously you take them,

the more He’ll enlighten you.
