582 Only the Honest Can Perform Their Duty Satisfactorily

Verse 1

When fulfilling your duty, examine yourself:

Are things done on principle, up to standard?

Have you tried to shirk responsibilities,

performed your work in a careless manner?

Once you’ve checked all these and your attitude,

it will be easier fulfilling your duty.

Pre-chorus 1

Whatever you face while doing your duty—weakness, negativity,

a bad mood after being dealt with—you should treat it properly.

You must seek the truth, understand God’s will.

You’ll have a path to practice by doing these things.

Chorus

To fulfill one’s duties up to standard,

one must persist with practicing the truth.

And it’s vital to act with principle.

These are things only honest people can do.

Verse 2

To do a good job fulfilling your duty,

you must not be affected by your mood.

No matter how negative, weak you are feeling,

practice the truth in all that you do.

Do this strictly and stick to the principles,

you’ll be liked by God and approved of by people.

Pre-chorus 2

So you will take responsibility, fulfill your duties properly.

You’ll fully live out the likeness of a genuine person.

You’ll be purified, transformed through your duties.

You can be said to be honest in God’s eyes.

Chorus

To fulfill one’s duties up to standard,

one must persist with practicing the truth.

And it’s vital to act with principle.

These are things only honest people can do.
