185 How God Sees Mankind

Verse 1

Once Jesus witnessed man’s life in sin,

His heart filled with a strong desire—

to let men be free from their struggling.

He must soon bear their sins on the cross.

These were Jesus’ thoughts once He’d lived with men

and felt their misery of living in sin.

Pre-chorus 1

That the incarnate God could have this will for all of man—

is this a disposition that an average mortal has?

Chorus

He will always see mankind

through eyes which are divine,

from the heights of His position as Creator.

He will always see mankind

through God’s essence and mind,

not through eyes of corrupt or average people.

Verse 2

Though on the surface God takes man’s form,

learns their knowledge, the language they speak,

though He uses man’s ways to express His thoughts,

He sees humans in ways man can’t see.

His view of things’ essence is not the same

as the view of the corrupt human race.

Pre-chorus 2

His perspective and the elevation at which He stands

is something unattainable for any corrupt man.

Chorus

He will always see mankind

through eyes which are divine,

from the heights of His position as Creator.

He will always see mankind

through God’s essence and mind,

not through eyes of corrupt or average people.

Bridge

Because God Himself is the truth

and His flesh also has God’s essence,

His thoughts as a man are truth,

and so are His expressions.

No matter how lowly His flesh is,

how people treat Him with contempt,

His attitude and thoughts towards man

can’t be copied or possessed.

Chorus

He will always see mankind

through eyes which are divine,

from the heights of His position as Creator.

He will always see mankind

through God’s essence and mind,

not through eyes of corrupt or average people.
