How blessed are those who love God;

they enjoy the work and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Reading God’s words,

they are enlightened and illuminated;

there is light in their hearts,

and they have a path to follow.

How joyous it is to turn their backs on the flesh,

leave behind the secular world, and live before God.

Mindful of God’s will, performing their duty well,

their souls are gratified and at peace.

How blessed are those who love God;

they are often attended by judgment and chastisement.

Accepting judgment, they are cleansed,

and changes in their disposition bring glory unto God.

How blessed are those who love God;

they take His will as their heavenly vocation.

Practicing the truth and obeying God,

they fear God and live amid the light.

How blessed are those who love God.

they receive His trials and perfection.

With Him by their side through pain and adversity,

they taste how real is His love.

Escaping the influence of Satan,

they are of one heart and mind with God.

Through refinement, their love becomes more pure,

and forever they exalt God and testify to Him.

How blessed are those who love God;

they surrender to His arrangements

in good times and bad.

They loyally follow God unto death

and expend their whole lives for Him.

How blessed are those who love God;

they worship Him in spirit and in truth.

They become His intimates,

receiving His promises and blessings.

How blessed are those who love God.
