The Above’s Answers to the Questions of God’s Chosen People From Around the World (2)
Fellowship From the Brother Above – April 15, 2025 (Part Two)
Question 3: Some potential gospel recipients have participated in many testifying sessions, but they still feel that if God has come, it should be as the Spirit of God coming among man—this is the only thing that counts as God’s return. How should we fellowship so that potential gospel recipients can see more clearly that God has indeed returned in the flesh?
Answer: This person is convinced of one thing: If God has come, He should have come as the Spirit of God, and the Spirit of God should work among everyone; that only then would it truly be God’s return. What does he mean by this? He means that if God has returned, it must be the Spirit of God that has come; that is, the Holy Spirit working among man and working on every person. Can the work of the Holy Spirit represent God’s coming? God’s coming refers to His becoming flesh to appear and work, so people can see and come into contact with Him. It does not refer to the Holy Spirit coming, whom people cannot see or touch; that is not what it means. If he says that God’s coming refers to the Holy Spirit’s coming, you should ask him, “Do you know when the Holy Spirit descended to earth to work?” How many years did the Holy Spirit work on earth during the Age of Law? From the time the heavens and earth were created, the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters, and the Holy Spirit was already working on earth. In the Age of Grace, the Holy Spirit descended at Pentecost and continued to work for two thousand years. These people think that the coming of the Holy Spirit means God has come. But God has always been on earth—would there be any need for Him to return? There would be no need for God to return. So, is what he says correct? (No.) Then how exactly should we explain God’s coming? When we say “God has come,” this refers either to the appearance of God’s spiritual body or the appearance of the incarnate God. Only when God appears in these two ways can it be said that God has come. You cannot refer to the Holy Spirit working among man as God having come; this statement is untenable. The Spirit of God appeared to man several times in the Age of Law, but Moses never said that God had come. Furthermore, in the Age of Grace, the Holy Spirit descended at Pentecost, but could you say that God had come after Pentecost? Nobody says this. The descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost can only be described as the Holy Spirit working among man; no one would say it was God coming, appearing, and working. Therefore, the potential gospel recipient who raised this question has an inaccurate definition of God’s coming. He thinks that the coming of the Holy Spirit is the coming of God, but can you see the Holy Spirit? Who can see the Holy Spirit? No one can see the Holy Spirit. People all know that the Holy Spirit works among man, but no one can see Him. That means that God’s prophecy about His return absolutely does not refer to the Holy Spirit working among man. God’s coming refers either to the coming of God’s spiritual body, or to God becoming flesh and coming among man to appear and work, with tangible form that people can see and touch; this is the true meaning of God’s coming. It’s just like when the Lord Jesus became flesh to appear and work in the Age of Grace—that was God’s coming. Therefore, this potential gospel recipient is unclear about the truth concerning God’s return, and he insists on seeing the Spirit of God come before he will acknowledge that God has returned. You can fellowship with him, “What were the Lord Jesus’ prophesies about God’s return? The Lord Jesus prophesied that His return would be ‘as the Son of man,’ that it would be ‘the coming of the Son of man.’ The Lord Jesus never said that His return would be the coming of the Spirit of God; He did not say this even once. Instead, the Lord Jesus prophesied that His return would be ‘the coming of the Son of man’—this is mentioned in many places in the Bible. Therefore, it is beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Lord Jesus’ return is the coming of the Son of man. You say that the coming of the Holy Spirit is the coming of God. Well, the Holy Spirit has been working on earth for so many years, but has your life disposition changed? Have you cast off your sinful nature and achieved sanctification? Have you been made perfect? You haven’t achieved any of these things, so why do you think that the coming of the Holy Spirit means God has come, and that you therefore don’t need to accept the work of the returned God? That the Holy Spirit is working on earth does not mean God has come. There are principles to the Holy Spirit’s work on earth. The Holy Spirit does some work according to what God has predestined and according to the steps of God’s work; that is, the Holy Spirit only does some work to cooperate with the truths expressed by God or to cooperate with the work of the incarnate God. It cannot be said that the Holy Spirit working on earth means God has already come; this comprehension is wrong.” Is it good to fellowship with him in this way? (Yes.)
Question 4: When preaching the gospel, we testify to potential gospel recipients that God has already returned. After hearing this, some feel that God might have returned, but they also feel that the things we are fellowshipping are too new. They have never heard them before, and the pastors and elders in the churches have never preached like this. Therefore, they are not sure if what we are testifying to is the true way. How should we fellowship to resolve this issue?
Answer: A potential gospel recipient feels that the things we are fellowshipping are too new, that they have never heard them before, and so they are not sure whether this is the true way. They are being quite honest in saying this. This is because in the last days, God has come to do a stage of new work and to express words that have never been spoken before throughout the ages. Therefore, the words spoken by God in His work of the last days are all words that people have never heard before, and people feel they are exceptionally fresh and new when they hear them. It is precisely the fact that people have never heard these words before that proves this is God’s appearance and work. If we said this was God’s appearance and work, but the words He spoke were things people had heard before, and the people hearing them did not feel they were fresh and new but rather felt they were old, then that would prove that this was not God’s appearance and work. Why is this? Because only God can express the truth; no one apart from Him can express the truth. Additionally, another characteristic of God’s work is that He never does repetitive work and never speaks repetitive words. Therefore, this stage of work in the last days gives people the sense it is fresh and new. The words God speaks in each stage are new, and He never repeats Himself. The characteristic of God’s work is that it is always new and never old. But when a potential gospel recipient feels that our fellowship is too new, that they have never heard it before, and that the pastors in the churches haven’t preached this way either, then they are not sure whether this is the true way. They are being honest in saying this. Not having heard these truths, they do not know whether they are the truth or whether they come from God. Therefore, no matter how much knowledge or prestige humans have, their comprehension of the truth is very superficial. In the face of the truth, people are always infants, and they can never grasp the truth. Whether they are intellectuals or high officials and nobles, they cannot grasp the truth. Then how do people feel after reading the truths expressed by Almighty God? They feel that God’s words are too lofty, that God’s words are too new, that there is no such language in the entire world, and that such truths have never existed before. The fact that people have this feeling is actually all the more proof that these are God’s words and utterances, and that this work is being done by God Himself; this is why they have such an effect. What if these words were so shallow that anyone could grasp them, or if they were things everyone had heard before? Then people would not believe that this is God’s appearance and work. It is precisely because these truths are things people have never heard before, and because they are profound and no one can fully understand them, that they are proven to be God’s words and God’s voice. Some people feel that these words are too new, that pastors have not preached them, and that they have not heard them before, and so they doubt whether these words are the truth and whether they were spoken by God. What is the problem here? Having no comprehension ability. Can we say this? (Yes.) Then how do people with comprehension ability comprehend these words when they read them? Take most of God’s chosen people around the world for example—when they accepted this stage of work, how did they comprehend Almighty God’s words when they read them? Realizing that they had never heard these words of Almighty God before, that they were exceptionally fresh and new, and that they were all the truth and God’s voice, they determined that Almighty God is the Lord Jesus returned and that He is the incarnate Son of man. Therefore, they accepted God’s work of the last days. These are people with comprehension ability. Only God can express the truth; apart from Him, no one can express the truth. Tell me, can the chief priests and theologians of Judaism, who understand the Bible the best, grasp the truths expressed by God today? (No.) They cannot. Upon seeing God’s present words, they just keep shaking their heads, saying, “I’ve never heard these words before. These words are too new. Where on earth do they come from? Who could speak these words? These words are not in the Bible. They seem even deeper than the words in the Old Testament.” They cannot grasp Almighty God’s words. The biblical experts and scholars of Judaism cannot grasp the truths expressed by God today. What does this prove? Is mankind not too insignificant and ignorant in the face of the truth? (It is.) No matter how much knowledge corrupt humans have, or how much theology they have studied, they cannot grasp God’s words or the truth. Without the work of the Holy Spirit, it would be no easy matter for people to gain the truth and achieve knowledge of God. Any intellectual or doctor of theology is insignificant, ignorant, pitiful, and foolish when faced with the truth. Is this correct? (It is.) If those religious pastors, biblical experts, and theologians were to hear me say this, they definitely would not be able to accept it. They would say I am belittling them. In fact, I am not belittling them at all. They are too backward—they are thousands of years behind us. Having experienced God’s work for so many years, when we look back at the Bible, we feel its words are too shallow. This is especially so when we read those epistles written by Paul in the New Testament—they are far too shallow, and some of his words even contain deviations. What is the greatest deviation in the epistles written by Paul? He did not know God’s work, nor did he know the Lord’s work of redemption. So, did the epistles he wrote testify to God? They did not testify to God; they fall far short of that. Then can those epistles he wrote prove that he had the truth? Can they prove that he had knowledge of the Lord Jesus? They cannot prove it; they fall so far short!
In this stage of work in the last days, God has expressed tens of millions of words, testifying so clearly to God’s disposition, what God has and is, and the three stages of God’s work. After reading the words expressed by Almighty God, not only have we come to know the three stages of God’s work, but we also have some knowledge of God’s disposition and what God has and is, in addition to His attitude toward various kinds of people and how He determines the outcomes of various kinds of people. We have also seen clearly that God’s disposition is righteous and holy, and we have seen especially clearly how God saves mankind—by leading mankind step by step through the three stages of His work. God’s way of saving mankind is so practical. It is something people can grasp and experience, and this shows us God’s great power. Therefore, the words expressed by God in the last days are incredibly important for perfecting mankind, and they are absolutely crucial for mankind in achieving knowledge of God, sanctification, and compatibility with God. Once you finish reading these words and understand the truth, you will have knowledge of your corrupt dispositions and be able to cast them off. Once you finish reading these words and have true knowledge of God, you will be able to prostrate yourself before God and truly worship Him. Some people say, “I have read a lot of God’s words, so why haven’t I cast off my corruption?” Because your understanding of the truth is too shallow, and you still do not know your corrupt dispositions. When you truly have knowledge of your corrupt dispositions, one result you will achieve naturally is hating yourself. When you reveal a corrupt disposition, you will feel a sense of shame, loathing, and disgust in your heart, and you will hate yourself. Anyone who reveals a corrupt disposition but feels nothing about it in their heart does not understand the truth. If you truly understand the truth, the moment you reveal a corrupt disposition, speak adulterated words, or tell lies to deceive people or deceive God, you will feel self-loathing in your heart. Therefore, if you truly understand the truth, do you still need others to prune and expose you? The moment you reveal a corrupt disposition, you will immediately realize it in your heart. When you are about to tell a lie, you will realize that it is a lie and stop immediately before the words even leave your mouth or when they are only half spoken. You don’t need others to prune you—you will realize yourself and repent. Therefore, a person who truly understands the truth can cast off their corrupt dispositions and achieve repentance and change. If you truly love the truth and truly understand the truth, it is absolutely impossible for you not to repent and change; you are bound to repent and change. Then if some people say, “I understand some truths, but why can I not practice them?” what is the problem here? First of all, they definitely do not love or accept the truth. They have only understood doctrines and regulations from God’s words, and their understanding of them is very shallow. We can say that they do not truly understand the truth, so they cannot practice it. What result is achieved when someone truly understands the truth? When someone truly understands the truth, they can fear, praise, and exalt God. This result can be achieved if someone truly understands the truth. If someone only understands doctrines and does not understand the truth, then they will not have a heart that worships, submits to, or fears God in the slightest. They will still live by their corrupt dispositions and by their knowledge and doctrines. That’s why the result achieved by truly understanding the truth is different. Simply understanding doctrines is not the same as understanding the truth. Once you understand the truth, the moment you reveal a corrupt disposition, you will immediately realize it in your heart; upon realizing it, you will immediately want to repent and change. This is the very process I have experienced myself. When I reveal a corrupt disposition, I realize it myself without constantly needing others to prune or expose me. Having done church work for so many years, I have a clear sense in my heart of what work should be done and when. When it is time to do a certain task, I take the initiative to do it myself. I don’t need others to constantly encourage, guide, or prompt me; none of this is necessary. I have a clear sense of what I should do in my heart. I do things in whatever way accords with the principles, in whatever way yields good results, and in whatever way is beneficial to the work of God’s house and aligns with God’s intentions. I know all of these things in my heart, so do I still need others to teach me? (No.) This is the kind of result that understanding the truth can achieve—it enables you to act according to the principles. People who do not understand the truth cannot do these things; they are unable to act according to the principles, and they are unable to ensure that all their actions are beneficial to the work of God’s house. Tell me, what is the characteristic of the way people who do not understand the truth do things? They cling to regulations. They stick to doing things the way they did before, and they will not change their methods. The results these people achieve are much poorer. If people can only cling to regulations, can they manage to act according to the principles? (No.) Then why do some people still persist in clinging to regulations, without changing at all? Because they do not understand the truth and cannot see things clearly. It is just like when we preach the gospel to religious people—they cling to many absurd views. Preaching the gospel to these people is not easy because they do not have spiritual understanding and do not understand the Bible. If they were people with reason, even if they did not understand the Bible, they would have self-awareness and wouldn’t delimit things blindly. But these people not only do not understand the Bible, they are also so bold as to delimit things blindly. When you fellowship the truth with them, they do not accept it. They stubbornly stick to their own ideas and always say, “Our pastor said so.” This is being foolish beyond any cure. Tell me, are such foolish people wanted in the kingdom of heaven? (No.) They are not wanted in the kingdom of heaven, because such people cannot understand the truth and can never achieve compatibility with God; they will forever resist God. There are two dimensions to the phrase “being compatible with God” here: One is being compatible with God in reality, which means being compatible with Christ. Christ is the embodiment of God, so being compatible with Christ is being compatible with God. The other is being compatible with God in eternity, which means being compatible with the Spirit of God. But if you cannot achieve compatibility with Christ right now in reality and in church life, then you will never be able to achieve compatibility with God in the kingdom of heaven. Is this not the case? (It is.) Therefore, people who have no spiritual understanding are in great trouble. They cannot accept the truth, and they will never achieve compatibility with God.
