How Leaders and Workers Should Do Church Work (1)

Fellowship From the Brother Above – November 25, 2025 (Part Six)

Question 4: Many brothers and sisters have encountered difficulties in finding potential gospel recipients, leading to a decline in the results of gospel preaching. How should we resolve this problem? In particular, how should we treat brothers and sisters who have believed in the Lord for a long time but cannot find potential gospel recipients?

Answer: If brothers and sisters have encountered difficulties in finding potential gospel recipients, then they must find practical paths forward. Is it not true that every brother and sister knows people who believe in the Lord? (It is.) Then among the people you know, which believer do you think can accept the truth and has the ability to comprehend the truth? Which person can be serious about the truth and is not a muddled believer? You should go over the people you are familiar with. Whether they are relatives, friends, or just acquaintances, you can preach the gospel to whoever can accept the truths expressed by Almighty God and has comprehension ability. If a person has comprehension ability and can accept the truth, but your relationship with them is not good and they may not be willing to listen to what you have to say, or you feel that you do not understand the truth and cannot preach the gospel to them, then you should find a brother or sister who does understand the truth to cooperate with you to preach to them, and you can just act as a guide. Because you do not understand the truth, if you are asked to preach the gospel and testify to others alone, you would not dare to, and you would not be able to answer their questions. So, you should find someone who understands the truth to cooperate with you in preaching the gospel. Will this not also achieve results? (It will.) Under normal circumstances, is preaching the gospel not just about preaching to the good people you know who sincerely believe in God? If you know two believers who are potential gospel recipients, then preach the gospel to these two people. If, in the end, only one is converted, then water that person well. After two or three months, when they understand some truth and are willing to preach the gospel and testify to God, they too will be able to find some potential gospel recipients among the people they know. If they bring in a pastor or a deacon, then the number of potential gospel recipients will not just be two or three, but dozens or even hundreds. This is how you should preach the gospel. The more you preach, the more potential recipients you’ll find, and the wider the gospel will spread. If some people do not preach the gospel after accepting Almighty God, saying, “I didn’t believe in the Lord Jesus before. I don’t know a single religious person, and I can’t find any potential gospel recipients,” is this reason valid? You may have never believed in the Lord, but among the nonbelievers you come into contact with, are there not some whose humanity is relatively good, and who can acknowledge that there is a God? You can preach the gospel to them as well. Nonbelievers with good humanity who believe there is a God are also potential gospel recipients. Therefore, not knowing people who believe in the Lord is not a reason or an excuse for not preaching the gospel. What is the main reason people do not preach the gospel? Under what circumstances do new believers begin to preach the gospel? Only when they understand some truths regarding visions and are certain about the true way can they preach the gospel. They say, “This is the true way! The words expressed by Almighty God have exposed mankind’s corrupt dispositions and pointed out the path by which to resolve these corrupt dispositions. This is God expressing the truth to cleanse and save man. God expresses these truths to make complete a group of people, so that these people may have a share in His kingdom. Revelation prophesies: ‘The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdom of our Lord, and of His Christ(Revelation 11:15). Christ’s kingdom is the destination for these people.” They are certain that this is indeed the true God coming to save man, and that by accepting this stage of work and gaining the truth, people can be saved and enter God’s kingdom. They feel in their heart, “I can’t just gain this salvation for myself. I must let my parents, children, relatives, and friends gain this salvation too, so that they too can all enter the kingdom one day.” Then they will start to preach the gospel to these people. Will they not then have found potential gospel recipients? Will the gospel work not then spread? Is this not the case? (Yes.) Therefore, to mobilize new believers to preach the gospel, you should fellowship on the truth with them more. Once they are clear about the truth, they will naturally be willing to preach the gospel. You won’t even need to tell them to preach the gospel, for they will preach to their family, relatives, and friends on their own initiative. If they are not clear about the truth and are not certain about God, then there’s no telling whether they themselves will be able to follow to the very end. If you ask them to preach the gospel, they won’t have that kind of faith. Is this not the case? (Yes.) Therefore, for those who are unwilling to preach the gospel, you should fellowship with them on the various truths concerning visions. When they understand the truth and are certain about God, you won’t need to say anything to them, for they will go out and preach the gospel on their own initiative.

Question 5: The decision-making groups in many regions of our country have not yet learned to do their duties independently. They rely too much on Chinese brothers and sisters, which hinders both the spread of the gospel and the cultivation of local new believers. How should we guide and help our brothers and sisters so that they no longer rely on the Chinese, but instead learn to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to complete God’s commission?

Answer: When people first find God, their stature is too small and they do not yet know how to eat and drink God’s words independently, so they need a crutch. They need help, support, and the leadership and provision of others. But once they can eat and drink God’s words and seek the truth on their own, should their crutch not be thrown aside? (Yes.) If the coworkers in a decision-making group can cooperate together to resolve problems in church life and the problems and difficulties brothers and sisters encounter in preaching the gospel, then they can be independent. But right now, you want to be independent but are not able, is that not so? (Yes.) Then half of the Chinese brothers and sisters who are supporting you can be withdrawn first. The remaining will only do some of the main work, and the less important work will be handed over to you to do yourselves. In this way, you can practice doing the work. After practicing like this for a while, once you are capable of independence, you can fully stand on your own two feet. Are there currently any members of decision-making groups anywhere who can undertake work independently? As long as you have the faith to shoulder work, you can be independent. If you cannot yet work independently, then the Chinese will not be withdrawn for the time being. Once you can be independent, the Chinese can be withdrawn.

Question 6: There is a decision-making group leader who feels that they are under a lot of pressure because they have too much work to do and they want to resign. How should we resolve this problem?

Answer: For a new believer to feel a lot of pressure and want to resign when they first start shouldering such a large quantity of work is a state that most people will have. We must fellowship on the truth properly to help and support them, so that they can have faith in their duty and not resign due to a moment of negativity and weakness. If their actual circumstances do not permit them to do so much work and they don’t have that much time to do their duty, then let them shoulder a little less work. Do not let them shoulder too much work or too heavy a load. If their load is lightened in this way, will they not stop being negative? (They will.) So, on the one hand, you should fellowship on the truth to help and support them, and on the other, you should lighten their burden a little according to their actual situation. Have them shoulder one or two tasks that they can currently handle. If they shoulder these tasks without feeling that they are too difficult or heavy, then they will not become negative.

Question 7: I caused damage to the work because I was irresponsible and perfunctory in my duty. However, when the upper-level leader asked me if I encountered any problems in my duty, I was always concerned about losing face and I wasn’t willing to open up and fellowship about my state and difficulties. How should I understand and resolve this problem?

Answer: Constantly being concerned about losing face and unable to be simple and open is being constrained by one’s corrupt disposition. If you are constrained by your corrupt disposition and do not do your duty well, delaying the work of God’s house, what will the consequences be? The consequences will be serious. To not do one’s duty well is to let God down and to become indebted to God. Having done this, we cannot account for ourselves before God, and our conscience will be condemned and tormented. This pain is truly great, and living becomes suffering. Therefore, it is bad for people to always be concerned about losing face. Never delay major matters because you are concerned about losing face. Regarding this problem, you should pray to God earnestly, practice being simple and open, and speak the truth. In addition, there will definitely be problems when corrupt mankind does work. There will be revelations of corruption and states of irresponsibility. But are these private matters that are too embarrassing to mention? (No.) If there are problems in your work or you reveal some corruption and you cannot bring yourself to speak about it, then you are in trouble, and you will not be able to do your work. There is nothing that you cannot bring yourself to speak about regarding difficulties encountered or corrupt dispositions revealed in work. Opening up about difficulties is not asking you to expose your private matters, but is for the sake of seeking the truth. Besides, everyone has these difficulties, problems, and revelations of corruption, and no one will look down on you because of this. If you find it very difficult to open up, then pray to God earnestly. Without you even realizing it, God will guide you, and you will be able to overcome the constraints of your concern for losing face.

Question 8: What is the minimum standard for electing members of a regional decision-making group?

Answer: The minimum standard for a member of a regional decision-making group is that they can fellowship on the truth to resolve problems. That is, they can fellowship on the truth to resolve the general problems that exist in the church, and the results of their fellowshipping on the truth to resolve problems are the best. Only such a person can be a regional leader. So, if you see someone whose results in fellowshipping on the truth to resolve problems are the best, then they are suited to be a regional leader, and they are qualified to be elected as a member of a regional decision-making group. So what is the standard for electing members of a pastoral area decision-making group? The most critical thing is that this person can steer things in the right direction. No matter what major issues arise, they can make accurate decisions to ensure that deviations do not appear in the work. This is the requirement for electing members of a pastoral area decision-making group, and this standard is the highest. However, to be a member of a regional decision-making group, a person only needs to be able to fellowship on the truth to resolve problems. Then what is the standard for being a member of a district decision-making group or a church leader? It doesn’t matter if the experiential understanding fellowshipped by a member of a district decision-making group is a bit shallow, but at the very least, they must be able to speak words and doctrines in a relatively concrete and comprehensive way. This allows them to serve as a member of a district decision-making group. A church leader should at the very least be enthusiastic and have a sense of burden. In addition, they must be a right person. This is the kind of person who can take on the work of a church leader. No matter which level of leader or worker is being elected, it must first be guaranteed that they are a right person. If they are not a right person, then they absolutely cannot serve as a leader or worker at any level in God’s house. So what kind of person is not a right person? If a person is dishonest, never tells the truth, always hides things and hems and haws when speaking, only says half of what they mean, and is not simple and open, then such a person is too deceitful and overly calculating. They are not trustworthy and cannot serve as a leader or worker at any level in God’s house. If you interact with someone and never dare to open your heart to them, always feeling that they are unreliable and not daring to tell them anything, then such a person cannot serve as a leader or worker at any level, because they are not a right person.

Question 9: When leaders and deacons are too strict with brothers and sisters, how should I fellowship to help them understand how to treat brothers and sisters correctly?

Answer: What is the stature of new believers? They are currently infants. At this stage, we must care for them with love. To put it bluntly, we should coax them as parents do their children, and we shouldn’t be too strict with them. Only when they have some stature, that is, when they at least understand some truths, can you be a little strict with them if they act in violation of the truth principles. Therefore, being strict with people should be based on their ability to accept this strictness. Only then can results be achieved. If your strictness with them does not achieve good results, and instead produces negative effects and makes them negative, then your strictness lacks principle and is unwise. If, after you treat them strictly, the results achieved are quite good, and they become more active and energetic in their duties, then your strict approach was correct. In fact, there is nothing wrong with being a little strict when problems are found in brothers and sisters, but you should choose an appropriate way to treat them based on whether they have stature and whether they can bear it. If they have some stature and can bear being pruned, only then can you be a little stricter with them. If they cannot bear being pruned, then you cannot be strict with them, and you should treat them with some wisdom.

Question 10: I would like to know how to converse wisely with various types of people in the church.

Answer: What is wisdom? Wisdom is an effective method adopted to achieve positive results. This is wisdom. If you use a method that achieves poor results and brings about adverse consequences, then such a method is unwise. Let me give an example. If you want to date someone but they do not agree to go out with you, and you try and use force to demand that they marry you, is this wise? (No.) Why not? Because by using force, not only will they not like you, but they will be disgusted by you and distance themselves from you, and no matter how you pursue them, you will not win them over. This method brings about such bad consequences, so it is unwise. But if you adopt a method that can achieve positive results and benefit God’s chosen people and the church’s work without any negative effects, then this is wise. If the method you adopt ultimately achieves poor results, then it is not wise. If it even brings about adverse consequences and disrupts and disturbs the work, then it is foolish. Therefore, if you want to converse wisely with various types of people, you should consider how to speak in a way that they can accept and that can achieve positive results. If you can adopt different ways of speaking to converse with them based on their different statures, this is being wise.

Question 11: Some waterers are not very effective in watering newcomers because they give up easily on those who do not attend gatherings regularly. Even though we have fellowshipped that mankind is deeply corrupted and that we should have love for newcomers and often care for and support them, these waterers still have not changed, resulting in newcomers eventually stopping attending gatherings. How should we better resolve this problem?

Answer: You should fellowship clearly with them about whether acting this way accords with God’s intentions or not, whether their deeds are good or evil, and whether their actions are approved of or detested by God. You should fellowship with them about these things. Fellowship about the consequences of acting in this way, and let them know that doing so will damage the work of God’s house, and that by doing so they are not doing their duty, but instead doing evil and harming God’s chosen people. Let them know that not only will God not approve of them, He will also detest and eliminate them. Because they have harmed those newcomers who have just accepted God’s work, causing them to leave God, such people are preventing God’s will from being carried out in their duty, and they have gone against God’s intentions. If they do not repent, they will be cursed by God. God will treat them as evildoers, and the outcome of this treatment will be more serious than that of those who withdraw and stop believing. After you have told them this in fellowship, if they can listen, accept, and are willing to repent, then keep them in this duty for the time being. If they do not listen or repent, then dismiss them immediately and replace them with loving people to water the newcomers. Is this a good approach to take? (Yes.) It’s like if you had a child but didn’t have the energy to take care of them, so you hired a nanny to take care of the child, but she didn’t take good care of the child and even hurt the child. How would you feel? Would you hate her? (Yes.) Then how would you resolve this matter? (I’d send her away and not hire her again.) Therefore, for this type of person who can harm brothers and sisters, if you fellowship on the truth and prune them but they do not accept it, dismiss them immediately and do not have them water newcomers anymore. Such people do not accept the truth, so it is useless for you to continue fellowshipping on the truth with them. Hurry up and choose good and loving people to water newcomers.

Question 12: There is a gospel preacher whom everyone says has a poor humanity, but considering that he can testify, we still make use of him. In the last few months, the results of his testifying have been inconsistent. Every time we gather, the state of his that he fellowships about is always negative. Sometimes when we point out his problems, he makes lots of excuses to try and justify himself. How should we handle him?

Answer: If such a person is effective in his duty, you should first help and support him normally and continue to make use of him to testify. It is better to have someone who is effective in his duty than someone who is not. If you can find someone who is more effective in their duty than him, has a good humanity, and can accept the truth, that would be even better, and you can reassign him. If you can’t find anyone better than him, then don’t be too strict with him for the time being, and don’t speak too harshly to him. Read God’s words and fellowship on the truth with him little by little, and perhaps his state will gradually improve. If, after you have fellowshipped with him a few times, his state turns around a bit and the results of his duty improve little by little, then he will be able to do his duty well. If, after you have fellowshipped with him a few times, he still hasn’t changed, does not accept the truth, his negative state hasn’t changed at all, and his duty hasn’t yielded any results whatsoever, then you must find someone better to replace him. Is it good to practice in this way? (Yes.)
