How Leaders and Workers Should Do Church Work (3)

Fellowship From the Brother Above – January 5, 2026 (Part Seven)

Question 8: Some brothers and sisters are unwilling to do the duty of preaching the gospel. When they are chosen for gospel work, they say that it is too difficult, and that finding potential gospel recipients is too hard and tiring, so they are unwilling. Although they reluctantly agree after being fellowshipped with, their attitude toward gospel work is still somewhat negative and passive, and some want to switch to other duties when they encounter failures or difficulties. How should this problem be resolved?

Answer: This problem must be resolved with the truth. First, you should know that your brothers and sisters chose you for gospel work because you have a gift for preaching the gospel; you are eloquent and have some insight, so you are suited for the work of preaching the gospel. This is what God requires of you. If you didn’t have this gift or eloquence, then brothers and sisters wouldn’t have chosen you for gospel work. Since everyone chose you, it shows that you are suited for this duty. So why are you making excuses? Why are you refusing God’s commission? You must seek the truth to reflect on and know yourself in this matter. This is no small thing. To refuse God’s commission is to rebel against God. It is an act of outrageous rebellion. Is it really that difficult to preach the gospel? Is it more difficult than being arrested by the great red dragon and enduring torture? When preaching the gospel, no one beats or scolds you, and you don’t have to suffer any great hardship. It’s simply that mankind is too corrupt and doesn’t accept the truth easily, which is why you have some difficulties. But are these difficulties impossible to resolve? We have God’s leadership and guidance, as well as the watering and provision of His words. As long as we sincerely pray to and rely on God, seek the truth and equip ourselves with it more, use a bit of wisdom, and are mindful of our methods, fellowshipping the truth more with potential gospel recipients, problems can always be resolved. So, how can you fellowship the truth to achieve good results in preaching the gospel? You must grasp what is vitally important to people and begin your fellowship from there. What is of vital importance to people? First, they want to gain blessings and enter the kingdom of heaven, and second, they fear death, and dying in the great catastrophes. We just need to grasp these two matters that are vitally important to them when fellowshipping the truth. If we do that, will preaching the gospel still be difficult? (No, it won’t.) If you know how to fellowship the truth, you won’t feel that preaching the gospel is difficult, but if you don’t know how to fellowship the truth, it naturally will be. If you only say useless things that people are unwilling to listen to, it won’t be easy for you to convert them. So, how should you speak to grasp what is vitally important to people? You can ask them, “The catastrophes are getting bigger and bigger—are you afraid of dying in them?” If they are afraid, you can fellowship with them, saying, “You’re afraid of dying in the catastrophes, but the Savior has come to save mankind from them and from death, so why don’t you accept Him?” Then you can read a couple of passages of God’s words to them. After hearing God’s words, they will understand, thinking, “Oh, the Savior has come. If I don’t accept Him, I will definitely die in the catastrophes, and if I die, won’t it all be over? I must accept Almighty God. Keeping myself alive is what’s most important. Plus, accepting Almighty God gives me the chance to enter the kingdom of heaven. This is a good thing, too. How can I miss out on something so great? I must accept Almighty God’s work of the last days!” This hits at what is most vitally important to people, because everyone is afraid of death and wants to gain blessings and enter the kingdom of heaven. If you fellowship with people in this way, it will be easy for them to accept what you tell them.

Some potential gospel recipients may have heard negative propaganda and are unwilling to accept the gospel because of its influence. You must thoroughly dissect this negative propaganda for them, letting them know that it consists of nothing but fabricated rumors, and then it will be easy for them to accept the gospel. You can say, “When the Lord Jesus was preaching and working, there was also a lot of negative propaganda. Some people said the Lord Jesus was an illegitimate child and didn’t acknowledge that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit. The leaders of Judaism also fabricated many rumors about Him, resulting in very few people in all of Judaism believing in the Lord. For the past two thousand years of the Age of Grace, many Christian experts and scholars have preached the gospel to the Jewish people, but they have never been able to breach this fortress, and to this day, they still do not believe in the Lord Jesus. But no matter how misleading these rumors were, they could not hinder God’s work, and the gospel of the Lord Jesus still spread throughout the world. Therefore, we must not base our investigation of the true way on negative propaganda and rumors.” If you say this, they will ponder what you have said and think, “That’s right. When the Lord Jesus came to work, there was a lot of negative propaganda, but the words of the Lord Jesus are the truth, and the Lord Jesus is the true God. Today, Almighty God has expressed a hundred or even a thousand times more truths than the Lord Jesus did. This proves even more that Almighty God is the appearance of the true God. I must not listen to negative propaganda anymore.” You can then fellowship with them further, “If you listen to negative propaganda, by the time Almighty God’s work is done and the great catastrophes come, God will have changed His image and returned to Zion. At that point, it will be of no use for you to weep, gnash your teeth, or beat your breast in despair because when God became incarnate to work and save man, you did not accept His work. By the time the spiritual body of God appears publicly, it will be too late for you to accept His work. Your end will have come, which is to say, the time for you to go to hell and be punished will have arrived.” After hearing this, they won’t dare to believe in negative propaganda anymore. Then, you can read a couple more passages of Almighty God’s words to them. When they hear that these words are the truth and the voice of God, they will be able to accept them. Or you can fellowship with them like this, “When the Lord Jesus became flesh and appeared to work, many people were skeptical, and they weren’t certain that the Lord Jesus was the Messiah. It wasn’t until they saw the Lord Jesus rise from the dead, appear to people for forty days, and then ascend to heaven that they became completely certain that the Lord Jesus was the true God, and only then could they truly follow and testify to the Lord. As for those who did not accept the Lord Jesus and who resisted and persecuted Him, they all ended up being punished and going to hell. Just like Judas, who betrayed the Lord Jesus and whose belly burst open and intestines spilled out—for him it was too late for regret, and his retribution came in full. Almighty God is now expressing the truth to work and save man. If you do not properly accept and pursue the truth, and believe Satan’s negative propaganda and rumors instead, it will be too late for regret when God changes His image. The gate of salvation will have been closed, and by that point, it will be futile for you to accept it. Therefore, for people to accept God’s work and be able to forsake things and expend themselves for God during His time of incarnation is true faith, and it is most blessed by God. Some people say, ‘I will accept God when the spiritual body of God appears.’ This is utterly foolish. If you really wait until the spiritual body of God appears to believe in and accept Him, then destruction and punishment will be yours. People need to believe in and accept God by faith during the work of God’s incarnation. When the spiritual body of God appears and everyone can see Him, will faith still be required of you? Believing only after you have seen is believing by sight, not by faith. The arrival of God’s spiritual body means that God’s work of salvation has ended, and that the day of God’s public appearance to reward the good and punish the wicked has come. To accept only then is to be condemned, and your time of death will have come.” Once you have fellowshipped these truths clearly, they will listen and then say, “Now I understand completely. I won’t listen to any more negative propaganda. The words of Almighty God are the truth. Besides God, who can express the truth? No human can do so. Almighty God is the incarnate God, and I must hurry to follow Him.” Tell me, since the creation of the world, has any person been able to express the truth? No. Not a single one. It’s already impressive if a person can speak a few words that are in line with the truth, so how could any person possibly express so much truth? Even the Lord Jesus did not express this much truth. With Almighty God having expressed so much truth, if you still cannot see that He is the appearance of God Himself, or that Almighty God has a divine essence, then you are utterly blind!

Some people always encounter obstacles in their duties, and they are afraid of this and that. When they encounter a little difficulty, they become negative, slack off, and shirk their duties. Once God’s work is finished and the great catastrophes descend, your time of death will have arrived. Does this scare you? If it does, then hurry up and do your duty. You must have resolve and say to yourself, “No matter how hard it is to preach the gospel, I will not be afraid. Isn’t preaching the gospel just testifying to people? Although not many among corrupt mankind can accept the truth, it’s not as if none of them will, right? If I testify to ten people and gain five or six, that’s fine. Even if I only end up saving one soul from death, that will still be a good deed!” Now that God’s work is about to end, the time has come to prepare good deeds. No matter how much money you offer, it is not as valuable as bringing a single soul before God. Saving one soul from death is the greatest good deed, and it is most remembered and approved of by God. But when some people encounter a little difficulty, they no longer want to preach the gospel. Such people do not have true faith. Do you know how great the blessings are that you can gain from preaching the gospel? When you preach the gospel, God is with you. First, it enables you to understand the truth clearly and thoroughly, and second, it enables you to see God’s wisdom, almightiness, and deeds, and that you are not doing this work alone, but that God is with you. What a great blessing this is! The more difficulties you encounter when preaching the gospel, the more you will pray to and rely on God, and the more of God’s deeds you will see. You will then be able to know God and come face-to-face with Him, and you will gain faith in Him. In addition, the more you preach the gospel, the better you will become at discerning all kinds of people. You will become able to discern what kind of people have the ability to comprehend the truth and are of good caliber, and what kind of people lack this ability and are muddleheaded. You will also be able to discern what kind of people love the truth and are God’s sheep, and what kind of people hate the truth and are devils. The more you preach the gospel, the more discerning you will become, and the more discerning you are, the wiser you will be, and the wiser you are, the better your results in preaching the gospel will be. What do we mean when we often say, “There are God’s blessings in preaching the gospel”? It means that when you preach the gospel, God is with you, standing by your side. When you have difficulties and pray to God, He works and guides you, opening up a path for you. God acts to reveal His wondrous deeds to you, giving you more opportunities to see them and come to know Him. At the same time, by encountering all kinds of people and problems in preaching the gospel, you will have the opportunity to seek and equip yourself with various aspects of the truth, and gradually, you will come to understand these aspects of the truth clearly and thoroughly, you will discern all types of people, and you will know how to use the truth to resolve problems. Therefore, performing the duty of preaching the gospel is the most blessed thing, and through this, a person’s life grows rapidly. But if you do not know how to rely on God or seek the truth, you will not do this duty well. In the course of your duties, if you rely on God, you will be able to see His deeds, that God is your support, that God is truly almighty, and that God is love and salvation. This brings about knowledge of God. Therefore, the more difficulties you have in your duty, the more opportunities you will have to pray to God, rely on God, and to seek the truth. When people don’t have any difficulties in their duties, they feel they are somewhat capable, so they rely on themselves and do not come before God to rely on Him. The more difficulties a person has in their duties, the more they are compelled to rely on God. The more you rely on God, the more you can see His deeds; the more you rely on God, the more you feel how almighty He is; and the more you rely on God, the more deeply you will know Him. By experiencing God’s work in this way, doesn’t a person’s life grow very quickly? (Yes.) Remember: By performing whichever duty that allows you to prepare the most good deeds, whichever duty that is most blessed by God, and whichever duty that is most in accordance with God’s intentions—the blessings you receive will be greater and the truths you understand will be more numerous. The more truths you understand, the greater your harvest will be, and ultimately, you will be able to attain salvation and be made perfect.

Question 9: Some church leaders responsible for watering work are not very supportive of gospel work, nor do they cooperate with the leaders responsible for gospel work to drive the church’s gospel work forward. How should this problem be resolved through fellowship?

Answer: Watering and gospel work may seem different, but are there any contradictions or conflicts between the two? (No.) There are not. So what is the purpose of watering work? Isn’t it to enable people to understand the truth so they can preach the gospel and testify to God? If you water a person of good caliber for a while, they can then preach the gospel and testify to God. Therefore, those responsible for watering work should cooperate with those responsible for gospel work. They should ask gospel workers more about the difficulties they have and fellowship the truth with them in a timely manner to resolve these difficulties. If you resolve the difficulties of the gospel workers so that they can actively preach the gospel and testify to God, has your watering work not achieved its results? (Yes.) In addition, there is a key principle in watering the church, which is that those who do important duties must be watered as a priority. Gospel work is a crucial work of God’s house. It is the center and focus of all work. Therefore, those who do the duty of preaching the gospel must be watered as a priority. Leaders and workers should devote more time and energy to watering those who preach the gospel. As for those who do not do any duty, it is enough for them to attend gatherings and live the church life normally. There is no need for them to be prioritized in watering. All of you responsible for watering work must remember that the focus of your work is to water those who preach the gospel and those who are about to be cultivated for this purpose. Watering these people well is both the center and fundamental task of watering work. Leaders and workers responsible for watering work should cooperate with those responsible for gospel work to prioritize the watering and cultivation of those who preach the gospel and testify. What do you think of arranging things this way? (It’s good.) Tell me, if leaders and workers spend their days watering those who do not love the truth, do not pursue the truth, and do not do their duties, will any results be achieved? It’s like watering a fake flower every day—is it going to grow? No matter how much you water a fake flower, it’s of no use, and it won’t grow. So is it not a waste of effort to water those who do not love the truth and do not do their duties? (It is.) Let’s look at another example. Suppose you want to eat eggs, but when raising chickens, you feed the roosters nutritious food while having the hens eat chaff. Are the hens going to lay eggs regularly if you do this? (No.) You must focus on feeding the hens well. Only when the hens have sufficient nutrition can they lay eggs on a regular basis. If you put all your focus on the roosters, causing the hens to be unable to lay eggs on a regular basis, isn’t this foolish and ignorant? (Yes.) There are many people in the church who do not pursue the truth, are always negative and weak, and do not do their duties. Do leaders and workers still need to prioritize watering them? (No.) Some people say, “We must treat these people with love too. If we water them and they grow, the church’s work will be easy to do.” Is this correct? (No.) Most of these people lack spiritual understanding. They are nothing but walking corpses and no matter how much you water them, they will not pursue the truth. Those who truly should be watered as a priority are those who pursue the truth, those who preach the gospel and testify, and those who are worth cultivating. These people need watering the most. If you water these people well, they will be able to understand the truth and do their duties well, and they will be able to preach the gospel and gain people. Then the church’s work will be done well. In my work, I mainly water leaders and workers, those who preach the gospel and testify, and those who sincerely expend themselves for God. If a person doesn’t expend themselves for God at all, and after believing in God for eight or ten years is still spiritually numb and dull as a corpse, not knowing to pursue the truth, I do not waste my effort on them. If, as leaders and workers, you do not know who to focus the bulk of your energy on or who you should water and support, then you do not know how to prioritize matters by importance. You lack wisdom in your work, and you do not understand God’s intentions. Often, God’s intentions are not made explicit, and they can only be sensed, not put into words. If you don’t understand God’s intentions at all, then you are utterly ignorant, and lack comprehension ability.

Question 10: The waterers aren’t putting enough effort into their work. They have not stimulated their brothers’ and sisters’ drive to preach the gospel, resulting in very few potential gospel recipients being provided in the church, which has affected the progress of the gospel work. Some waterers are not supportive of gospel work, and even say, “If there are potential gospel recipients, we’ll preach to them, but if not, we won’t.” How should this be resolved?

Answer: Those who water the church must remember this one point: The purpose of watering the church is to enable new believers to become certain about the true way and to rise up sooner to preach the gospel and testify to God. To achieve this, you must first clearly fellowship on the truths of visions to new believers as soon as possible. In addition, have those with experiential testimonies share them. When everyone hears more testimonies, they will be able to understand some truths and become certain about God. Then they will be driven in their belief in God and be willing to preach the gospel to their family, friends, and acquaintances. If they lack drive in their belief in God, still have notions about God, and are not yet certain about God, will they be willing to preach the gospel? (No.) Tell me, why is it that some people are unwilling to expend themselves for God? Do they not want to gain blessings? (They do.) Then why are they unwilling to expend themselves for God? It is because they are not yet certain about God. They still have notions and doubts about Him, and so they are unwilling to expend themselves for Him. If they were certain that Almighty God is the true God and knew that expending themselves for God brings great blessings—blessings that no amount of money can buy—then they would have long since forsaken everything to expend themselves for God. They can weigh the pros and cons themselves and know what is and isn’t important. Isn’t the reason they are not expending themselves for God simply because they are not yet certain about God? (Yes.) Therefore, the reason for there being so few potential gospel recipients being provided in the church is that the waterers have not watered their brothers and sisters well. If people are not certain about Almighty God, they won’t want to preach the gospel to their relatives and friends. If you truly water the brothers and sisters well and they become certain about God, even if you don’t mobilize them, they will find ways to preach the gospel and do their duties themselves. Take offerings as an example. For all these years, God’s house has never preached about making offerings and has repeatedly emphasized that new believers and the poor are not allowed to make them. Yet in mainland China, there are still many people who want to make offerings, with some even living frugally to do so. Why is this? Isn’t it simply because they have become certain about God? They feel, “My circumstances don’t permit me to go overseas to preach the gospel and testify to God, and in China I face being suppressed and arrested by the CCP, so I can’t do much of a duty. I only have this money, so if I don’t offer it to God and do something for the spreading of the kingdom gospel, I will be indebted to God! I must offer all my money to God; this is my sincerity.” You see, when people become certain about God in their hearts and become convinced that Almighty God is the one true God, they will think of any way they can possibly expend themselves for God. Never mind preaching the gospel and offering money—they would even lay down their lives. Some people in the church are unwilling to preach the gospel to their relatives and friends, and the root of this problem is that we haven’t watered them well with the truth, so they are not certain about Almighty God. If you truly water them and provide for them well and they become certain about God, would they be unwilling to support the gospel work? Which brother or sister doesn’t have relatives and friends who are potential gospel recipients? Everyone does. If you truly water your brothers and sisters well and enable them to become certain about God, what obstacles or problems could they still have in preaching the gospel? What things could they still be reluctant to part with or be unable to forsake? Would they still be afraid of suffering and hardship? The only reason they have so many difficulties is because they are not certain about God. If they were certain about God, they would be able to forsake anything, offer anything, endure any suffering, and even lay down their lives. None of these things would be a problem anymore.
