How Leaders and Workers Should Do Church Work (4)
Fellowship From the Brother Above – February 2, 2026 (Part Eight)
Question 17: Some gospel directors have pretty good caliber, a decent level of professional skills, and are worth cultivating, but they are affected by family life and fluctuations in their state, and their attitude toward work is not very stable. This has led to slow progress in cultivating them to shoulder the work independently. How can we fellowship with them so that they can develop a burden and a sense of responsibility and strive upward, without putting too much pressure on them?
Answer: To resolve this kind of problem, you must water them with the truth earnestly; once they understand the truth, all problems will disappear. Those who do not understand the truth are always constrained and swayed by various people, events, and things, and cannot fully dedicate themselves to doing their duty. Some people have good caliber and are worth cultivating, but may be affected by family entanglements and cannot expend themselves for God earnestly, while others are affected by negative emotions and corrupt states and always lack the drive to do their duty. How should these problems be resolved? They must be resolved by understanding the truth. Once people understand the truth, they can forsake anything and endure any suffering. If you asked them to endure suffering for themselves, they wouldn’t be able to do it, but if you asked them to endure suffering to satisfy God, that wouldn’t be a problem; they would even be willing to die for God. Tell me, if a person is even able to die for God, what difficulty can still hold them back? Therefore, when people don’t bear a burden in their duty, this is because they do not understand the truth clearly; they cannot see how great God’s love and God’s salvation are, and they cannot see how great God’s blessings are. Therefore, they bear no burden in their hearts to expend themselves for God. So, fellowship with them on this aspect of the truth, on how much of a price God has paid in His work of saving man and how great God’s love for man is. After fellowshipping this, ask them, “God has shed so much of His heart’s blood to save man, yet you still have no reaction and remain indifferent, unwilling to forsake things and expend yourself for God—you are not at all considerate of God’s intentions. Do you have a conscience or not?” Anyone with a conscience would weep in remorse upon hearing this, and would hate themselves and even slap their own face. At this point, what could they not forsake? What could still affect or constrain them? What could entangle them? Nothing would be able to affect, constrain, or entangle them anymore. What, then, causes people to have little faith? A limited understanding of the truth. As people understand the truth more, their faith will naturally grow, and they will be able to resolve any problem. If someone does not understand the truth, and you ask them, “Exactly how great is God’s love?” an average person would be unable to explain it thoroughly. So, exactly how great is God’s love? What exactly is God’s love? Is God’s love limited to giving people grace? Is it okay to comprehend it this way? (No.) As for exactly how great God’s love is, we must understand it like this: First, we are corrupt humans, and corrupt humans all betray and resist God. Against this background, God has twice become incarnate and come among mankind in order to save us from Satan’s influence and to save us from dying, enduring all kinds of suffering and humiliation to express so many truths. God has paid such a great price to save man. Think about it—is this not God’s love? (It is.) Then how great is this love? This love is truly great! Second, the blessings God gives to man are truly great. God has bestowed upon you eternal blessings, the blessings of the kingdom of heaven, and the blessings of eternal life. Has God not bestowed so many truths upon man just so that man can gain the truth, survive, and live forever? Tell me, how great are the blessings God gives to man? How great is God’s love? If you truly have knowledge of God’s love, would you be willing to do a little duty? Would you be willing to suffer a little to expend yourself for God and bear witness for God? (Yes.) If a person truly recognizes, “God’s love is so great and God’s blessings are so great that we are not even worthy to enjoy them; even if we were to offer up our lives to God, it wouldn’t be enough to repay God’s love,” then what difficulty would they be unable to overcome? What problem would they be unable to resolve? Some people say, “I would be willing to expend myself for God even if I had to eat husks and wild weeds, and I would even be willing to give up all fleshly enjoyments. As long as I can expend myself for God, that’s enough.” Once they truly recognize God’s love, they have the drive to expend themselves for God, and all their problems are resolved. Therefore, in testifying to God, you must testify to God’s love, God’s grace and blessings for man, and the beautiful destination God bestows upon man. If someone truly understands these things, they will be moved and weep, feeling that they are unworthy. At that time, they will say, “Nothing I have is of any value; my most valuable thing is this life of mine. Although my life is also worthless in God’s eyes, I have nothing else of value, so I can only offer my life to God and expend myself for God for the rest of my days! What can I not forsake or give up in order to do the duty of a created being well?” You see, has their faith not grown? When they understand the truth, their faith grows, and they become able to give everything to expend themselves for God. Therefore, let’s water people with the truth more; once they understand the truth, these problems will be easy to resolve. Regardless of what their caliber is like, once they understand the truth clearly, they will have faith, and once they have faith, any difficulty can be resolved. If you ask someone who truly has the faith to expend themselves for God, “You have chosen to expend yourself for God and will no longer earn money, so your living conditions may not be as good in the future. Is that okay?” they will say, “Yes, I can endure this bit of suffering. I don’t need to eat fancy food or buy nice clothes to wear.” You see, once they have faith, they can endure this suffering. Some sisters used to love wearing makeup and dressing up, often using high-end cosmetics, but after choosing to expend themselves for God, they no longer earned money to buy cosmetics and stopped focusing on makeup. They felt that it was nothing to endure this minor suffering in expending themselves for God. Tell me, what does it matter if your flesh suffers a little? In fact, you have not suffered any loss; on the contrary, your life has grown and you have gained much in your spirit. If you were asked to choose a way of life, which one would you choose? (I’d choose for the flesh to suffer while I gain much in my spirit.) Is it good for some people to always focus on wearing makeup and dressing up? If you apply your mind to makeup and dressing up, will you still have time to do your duty well? I tell you, simplify the matters of life as much as possible. I never dress up or use any cosmetics; usually, I just simply wash my face and that’s it. I also dress simply. I don’t think about what new or high-end clothes to wear; if my old clothes can still be worn, I will keep wearing them, as long as they are dignified and decent. I’m not picky about food, either. I don’t like eating fancy cuisine, just ordinary home-cooked meals. When brothers and sisters give me some good tea, I’m not used to drinking it; if I’m thirsty, I just drink some water. My life is just that simple, which allows me to free up more time for work.
Tell me, if a church has leaders and workers who pursue the truth, is it not most blessed by God? (It is.) Leaders and workers who pursue the truth walk the right path and have the work of the Holy Spirit, so they are able to water God’s chosen people in their church well. If someone can water a church well, causing more of God’s chosen people to rise up and do their duty, and cultivate more people to be leaders and workers and preach the gospel and testify, then this is the greatest of good deeds. Such a person is most blessed by God; they are a pillar in the church. Without them, the church would be like a heap of loose sand, unable to get any work going, and the brothers and sisters would bear no burden in their duty, making it very difficult for the church to keep going. Only with this person there doing the work can the church work progress normally—they are a pillar of the church. Now, there are some leaders and workers around the world who are truly quite good and have spiritual understanding. They all pursue the truth and strive toward it. These people are all pillars; they have been raised up by God. By pursuing the truth in this way, and by doing their duty and paying a price, they will all eventually be used by God. The caliber of these people is no worse than mine, and some have even better caliber than me. Although the truths they understand now are a bit shallow, this is not a problem. After all, they have only believed in God for a few years. If they experience for a few more years, they will certainly make progress faster than I did. It could be said that for them, believing in God for eight or ten years is equivalent to us believing in God for several decades; they make progress so quickly! Now is the time to suffer and pay a price in pursuing the truth and doing your duty. If you hurry to suffer and pay a price in pursuing the truth and doing your duty now, and endure all suffering to satisfy God, then you are sure to gain more truth and more blessings in the future. If you cannot suffer and pay a price to pursue the truth and do your duty well now, you will regret it for the rest of your life and will be left with eternal regrets. One day, when the kingdom of Christ is realized, you will say tearfully, “Oh God, I didn’t do my duty well. I owe You too much. At the most critical time for doing my duty, I was greedy for fleshly enjoyments and didn’t spend more time doing my duty. I paid too small a price to complete Your commission. Oh God, I am not worthy to enter Your kingdom, and I am not worthy to receive Your blessings.” At that time, you will be filled with remorse and will weep bitterly. At the end of 1991, God’s chosen people in mainland China underwent the three-month trial of the service-doers. At that time, God said that His chosen people in China were all service-doers. One passage said: “In China, apart from My firstborn sons and My people, all the others are the offspring of the great red dragon and are to be discarded. You must all understand, China is after all a nation cursed by Me, and a few of My people there are nothing more than those that render service for My future work. To say it another way, apart from My firstborn sons, there is no one else—they are all to perish” (The Word, Vol. 1. The Appearance and Work of God. Utterances of Christ in the Beginning, Chapter 95). People cried out loud when they heard these words, saying, “God says we are service-doers. This means God loathes us and doesn’t want us anymore. We’re finished; we’re going to hell and cannot be saved!” People were suddenly plunged into painful refinement. They all felt negative and weak in their hearts, and they were disheartened and disappointed. They even complained about God, and none were willing to be service-doers. They endured this for three months, suffering as if they were at death’s door and shedding countless tears before they finally submitted, saying, “Since God says we are service-doers, then let us be service-doers willingly. In any case, we are descendants of the great red dragon. God has already exalted us by allowing us to hear His words and experience His work today. Even if we die after we finish rendering our service, it will be worth it.” When people became willing to render service, the work of the Holy Spirit shifted, and God spoke again, turning all the service-doers into God’s people. Many people wept as they held God’s words, feeling that they were unworthy. They said, “We owe God so much! During the trial of the service-doers, we were negative and weak, and we complained about God, feeling that God was unfair to us. How could we have been so rebellious and so lacking in reason? Only now do we understand that this was God’s way of working—that God was doing this to try us, to cleanse us of our intention to obtain blessings. This is God’s love!” When people saw that the trial of the service-doers was God’s love, they all wept with remorse and hated themselves, regretting that they had not pursued the truth and left behind too many regrets and debts in the trial. Therefore, if you do not earnestly pursue the truth and do your duty, many of you will also feel the same regret when one day God’s kingdom is realized. If you have believed in Almighty God for several years and still cannot do your duty, there will come a time when you feel remorse and weep bitterly. When that time comes, you will certainly feel eternal regret and remorse. At that time, you will regret not expending yourself for God, not showing devotion to God, and not pursuing the truth earnestly. You will feel that you are not worthy to receive blessings and are not worthy of being called a human. But it will be useless to regret it then; God’s work will be over, and the door of grace will have already closed. If you have clearly understood this matter now, then you must hurry to pay the price to pursue the truth, and hurry to pay the price to do your duty well and satisfy God!
