How to Pursue and Gain the Truth (1)

Fellowship From the Brother Above – January 21, 2025 (Part Five)

Let’s get into the main topic. What does pursuing the truth refer to? How does one pursue the truth? Perhaps most people have some concept of this, and they say, “We just need to read more of God’s words. As long as we understand God’s words, we will have understood the truth, and those who understand the truth are all people who pursue the truth.” This is too simple an explanation. Then what is the specific path of practice for pursuing the truth? How does one enter into the pursuit of the truth? These are things that you must understand. Some people say that pursuing the truth means constantly putting effort into the truth, and everyone knows this. But how can you understand and enter into the truth, what results can be achieved by understanding the truth, what difficulties must be resolved to understand the truth, and in particular, what difficulties are there in practicing the truth? Should these problems and difficulties be resolved? (They should.) Pursuing and gaining the truth is no simple matter. Look at how many words God has spoken on the topic of “On the Pursuit of the Truth.” Volume 6 of The Word Appears in the Flesh is all about this matter, Volume 7 is also about this matter, and volumes 8 and 9 will also be about this matter. There are so many topics and so much content related to pursuing the truth. These words of God are truly precious. They are the words that God’s people must read to be perfected by God and to enter into the truth reality. The words spoken by God are all truths that people must understand and enter into, and it will not do for you to read them less.

Let’s first talk about the matter of pursuing the truth. To pursue the truth, one must first understand the truth. Wherein lies the difficulty of understanding the truth? There are many difficulties. After years of studying the various things taught in school and society, people become filled with satanic things, such as Satan’s fallacies, erroneous views on things, and all kinds of absurd heresies and fallacies. Many of these things come to be accepted by people and become their life. Is this not a fact? (It is.) Then if you have so many absurd pieces of knowledge and learning and fallacious views on things inside you, can these things not hinder you from accepting the truth? Can they not make you deny the truth? (They can.) Let’s take an example. Why is it so difficult for religious people to accept the work of Almighty God? What is the main hindrance? (They have many notions and imaginings about God, and their dispositions are particularly arrogant. As soon as God’s work doesn’t align with their notions and imaginings, they begin clinging to their notions and imaginings, and they resist and condemn God’s work.) This is the first major difficulty. Some people in the religious world say, “The words of Almighty God that you speak of and your views deny the entire foundation of the last two thousand years of the Christian faith. How can we accept these things? We Christians believe in the Lord based on the Bible, and God is a Trinity. You have overturned all of this, so we cannot accept it.” What problems have you discovered in these words? (Their dispositions are truly arrogant.) What else? They treat the entire theological system of Christianity as if it were the Lord Himself, as if it were the most holy truth that cannot be denied. Therefore, as soon as they hear that the words of Almighty God are not in line with their faith, they refuse to accept them and resist and condemn them. Look, is this not a difficulty for people in accepting the truth? This religious notion, this theological system of religious belief, is the greatest hindrance to people’s belief in God. It can be said that the Bible has become their greatest difficulty and greatest hindrance in believing in God. Then some people say, “How can the Bible become a difficulty for people in believing in God?” The Bible itself is without sin, but if you cling to the work that God has already done which is recorded in the Bible as if it were the truth, and you do not accept God’s new work, does this not become a difficulty? Does it not become a hindrance? Every stage of God’s work is new, and God does not repeat His work. Religious people believe, “The Bible represents God, and God’s words are all in the Bible. Outside the Bible, there are no more of God’s words, and God’s words have all been spoken.” Is this view correct? Can the Bible truly represent God? It cannot. The Bible only represents the work God did in the Age of Law and the Age of Grace, and it records some of the simple truths that God expressed in the first two ages. The deeper and higher truths still have to be expressed in the Age of Kingdom. God is the source of the truth, and God’s words and God’s wisdom are infinite and inexhaustible, and will forever be unfathomable to mankind. The limited words recorded in the Bible, when compared with God’s life essence, are like a drop in the ocean, like speaking to a child. They are relatively shallow, and God still has many higher and deeper truths that He has not yet expressed. Looked at in this way, how can the Bible represent God? It cannot. Objectively speaking, the Bible can only represent the simplest words that God spoke to the early human race. The deeper truths for saving mankind from the influence of Satan have only just been expressed. But you say that the limited words in the Bible represent God, that God can only say that much, and has only that much truth, and that God has no other higher or deeper truths. Are you not denying God by saying this? You are using the Bible to deny God! With this being said, is it not a fact that the Bible has become the greatest hindrance for people to accept God’s new work? (It has.) So, if religious people use the Bible as a basis to resist God’s work, how are you to refute them? (I would ask them in return, “Do you believe in God or the Bible?”) This is an appropriate method. You can also say, “The Bible cannot completely represent God. It can only represent a ten-thousandth part of God. God still has many infinite truths that He has not yet spoken. Just as with the small amount of knowledge a person learns in primary school—can this represent all of that person’s learning? It cannot. Far from it.” Religious people take the Bible as God’s entire expression, and believe that in saving mankind, God has only expressed those words, and that outside the Bible, there are no more of His words to be found. Is this not the greatest misunderstanding of God’s work? Is this not the greatest absurdity of the religious world? This is the gravest judgment toward God; it is a serious judgment and delimitation of God, and it is the most ignorant manifestation of mankind! No wonder these people cannot be saved in the end. Where did they fail? They failed due to their religious notions. God’s words have exposed many of these kinds of problems, and many of the essential words of God have exposed the Pharisees’ God-resisting essence. How does God do this? The Pharisees not only made the mistake of judging and delimiting God, but their essence hated the truth. This is the root of it. If you are a person who loves the truth, after reading the words of Almighty God, you will say, “Oh, the little bit of truth we understood in the Bible before was too shallow. The words of Almighty God are deeper and higher truths. I accept this stage of Almighty God’s work.” Is this not very simple? Why do many people in the religious world not accept Almighty God? The root cause is that their nature is averse to and hates the truth. If a person has this nature of being averse to and hating the truth, then this is like a cancer that cannot be cured, and they are marked for death, right? (Right.) God does not save them.

Some people who believe in God keep having notions about Him. They say, “As soon as I see the normal humanity of Almighty God, I have doubts and confusion in my heart. Is my belief really correct?” They spend their days wavering. Later, after reading more of Almighty God’s words and understanding some of the truth about the incarnation, they finally realize that God clothing Himself in normal human flesh is the incarnation. The aspect of normal humanity is actually God’s wisdom. God clothes Himself in normal humanity to work in secret. This aspect of normal humanity is just a cover, just like God disguising Himself as a human, but He has a divine essence, and His ability to express the truth is a revelation of His divine essence. Therefore, to know God, it is sufficient to focus on the truths He expresses. The aspect of His humanity is the normal humanity that people should emulate and know. Then how should the nobility or lowliness of normal humanity be judged? Is it measured by the level of knowledge one has or by the presence or absence of the truth in a person? (By the presence or absence of the truth.) Normal humanity has nothing to do with one’s level of knowledge. A person with normal humanity with the truth reality as its life is the noblest kind of person. A person with normal humanity with knowledge as its sovereign and life is the type of person that resists God. Is that not so? (It is.) For example, you see that I am average-looking, not tall, and that my level of education isn’t that high, so you think that such a person isn’t noble and cannot be the man used by the Holy Spirit. You characterize such a person in this way. Is this characterization correct? (No.) In the past, some people characterized me in this way. After they accepted Almighty God, they said, “I believe in Almighty God, but I do not believe in the man used by the Holy Spirit, because he is not God. He is also part of corrupt mankind, just like us.” There are also some people who I pruned for violating principles in their actions, and I asked them, “Do you accept this or not?” and they finally stated their position by saying, “I submit to God,” answering me with these few words. How was this answer? They said, “I submit to God.” This statement is also correct, but do you know what is hidden in these words? (Defiance and dissatisfaction.) When they said, “I submit to God,” the hidden meaning was actually: “I do not accept what you say, because you are not God.” That is what was meant. But they did not say this directly. Instead, they just said, “I submit to God.” They didn’t dare to say the true words that followed, “I do not submit to you, I will not listen to you,” and they covered it up with the words “submit to God.” Aren’t such people very clever with words? Some people say, “The man used by the Holy Spirit also has to read God’s words, and the sermons he preaches at gatherings are all based on the words of Almighty God. We also read God’s words, and we can also fellowship based on the words of Almighty God. Why should we listen to him?” Why does this voice sound like the voice of the two hundred and fifty leaders who resisted Moses? Tell me, how should I treat this kind of person? I say to them, “Then do as you please. If you do not listen, then do not listen. If you are willing to listen to God’s words, that is even better. I hope you can gain the truth from God.” Some people do not listen to my sermons. They say, “I’ll just read God’s words.” And what is the result of this? They do not have the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit. God’s words are straightforward and easy to understand, but when they read God’s words, they do not have the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit. As a result, even after reading God’s words for ten or twenty years, they still have not entered the truth reality. Therefore, you must have the correct mindset in your belief in God. For one thing, you must believe in the incarnate God and submit to Him with a God-fearing heart. For another, in administrative affairs, you must also submit to the man used by the Holy Spirit. Do not analyze right or wrong. In the seventh of The Ten Administrative Decrees That Must Be Obeyed by God’s Chosen People in the Age of Kingdom, Almighty God clearly stipulates: “In work and matters of the church, apart from submitting to God, follow the instructions of the man who is used by the Holy Spirit in everything. Even the slightest infraction is unacceptable. Be absolute in your compliance, and do not analyze right or wrong; what is right or wrong has nothing to do with you. You must concern yourself only with total submission.” Submitting to the leadership of the man used by the Holy Spirit is stipulated in the ten administrative decrees. If you violate the administrative decrees and offend God’s disposition, you are making a great mistake, and the Holy Spirit will not work on you. Look at the two hundred and fifty leaders who resisted Moses in the Age of Law in the Old Testament. In reality, the Bible does not record how they resisted Moses or condemned Moses. They just said, “Has Jehovah indeed spoken only by Moses? Has He not spoken also by us?” (Numbers 12:2). Does this count as condemning Moses? But God was angry, and God gave Moses authority, and through Moses, He performed a sign and a wonder. The earth opened up and swallowed them alive, plunging them into Hades. You see, this is just how serious violating the administrative decrees is. This is something you must understand. Therefore, you must have a God-fearing heart. Do not judge things you cannot see through, and do not speak rashly. Furthermore, the man used by the Holy Spirit doesn’t express the truth. Rather, he leads God’s chosen people to experience God’s work, and he leads God’s chosen people to eat and drink God’s words and enter the truth reality. This is a person who cooperates with God’s work. Then where does the work of this person come from? It comes from his being used by the Holy Spirit. Is being used by the Holy Spirit the same as an ordinary believer receiving a little enlightenment from the Holy Spirit? (No.) What is the difference? Ordinary people cannot see through to this. Since this person is referred to as the man used by the Holy Spirit, what he does therefore represents a part of the Holy Spirit’s work. Apart from the work of the incarnate God, it is the Holy Spirit working on the man used by God. God has entrusted all the administrative affairs of the church and how God’s chosen people should eat and drink God’s words and enter the truth reality, as well as how to spread the gospel and how to cleanse the church to create an environment with the truth for God’s chosen people, to the man used by God and to the leaders and workers cultivated by God’s house. The man used by God has the work and leadership of the Holy Spirit, so he gains much more than ordinary people among God’s chosen who receive only a little enlightenment from the Holy Spirit. Some people do not accept the leadership of the man used by the Holy Spirit; they say, “I can also gain the truth from God’s words.” This isn’t wrong, but how much of God’s words can you grasp? How much enlightenment from God can you receive? If you do not accept the work of the man used by the Holy Spirit, then the work of the Holy Spirit you receive will be much less, and you will not be able to attain salvation or be made perfect at all. There are many of God’s words that people can only understand through the fellowship of the man used by the Holy Spirit. He tells you his experiential knowledge, he interprets the meaning of God’s words for you, and thus you come to understand. If he did not interpret, fellowship, and lead you, what you would gain would be very, very little. If you were to depart from the leadership of this person, it would probably be very difficult for you to be perfected in your belief in God, and what you would gain would be very limited. If you are under the leadership of this person, and you also submit to God’s work, and you also submit to the man used by the Holy Spirit, and you accept the truth and God’s perfection, then it will be easy for you to be perfected and to be able to walk the path of being saved and perfected by God. Is this not absolutely crucial? (It is.) You must see through these things. Therefore, if you want to pursue the truth, you must understand and grasp God’s administrative decrees. First, you must absolutely submit to the incarnate God. There are many details in this, that is, the commandments say what things people cannot do to God, what words people cannot say, and what mindsets people should not have. Also, the ten administrative decrees say what people should pay attention to regarding the man used by the Holy Spirit, and how to submit to him. After you have come to understand these commandments and administrative decrees, it will be much easier for you to pursue the truth and enter reality. You will have a path, your heart will become bright, you will know how to practice, and you will gain the work of the Holy Spirit. That is how it is. Next, let’s talk about how to pursue the truth, shall we? (Alright.)
