How to Pursue and Gain the Truth (11)
Fellowship From the Brother Above – October 15, 2025 (Part Four)
I. Questions Regarding the Preaching of the Gospel
Question 1: Most followers of Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy do not read the Bible and instead just observe religious rituals. When we testify to them that God has returned, we fellowship that only God can express the truth, and that we can be certain that God has returned based on the truths expressed by Almighty God. However, they do not understand what the truth is, and we do not know how to explain what the truth is in a simple and clear way.
Answer: How should you fellowship on what the truth is? Defining “the truth” is an incredibly difficult task. No one can explain it clearly, not even the most highly educated intellectuals. But the words of Almighty God have made clear what “the truth” is. So what do God’s words say? (“God’s words, His requirements of man, and the reality of all positive things are the truth.” “The truth is the criterion for man’s self-conduct, actions, and worship of God” (The Word, Vol. 4. Exposing Antichrists. Item Eight: They Would Have Others Submit Only to Them, Not the Truth or God (Part Three)).) This is what God’s words say, but when you are fellowshipping with people about what the truth is, is it enough to just read God’s words? (No, it is not easy for people to understand what the truth is.) In that case, you must add some human explanations and understandings to make it easier for them to understand. Is that not so? (Yes.) So, to explain it in terms of human experience, the truth is the words God bestows upon people to be their life; it is the life reality that their normal humanity should possess, and the reality God has ordained for created mankind to live out. This is how you can explain the truth in terms of human experience. To say more and in greater detail, we actually have to go all the way back to the time of creation. When God created mankind, He said these words: “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness” (Genesis 1:26). There is a mystery in these words, “make man in Our image.” Mankind’s image is related to God’s image, and this relationship is particularly close. What did God call mankind after creating them? God said that mankind is His own flesh and blood, His own kin. Therefore, ever since mankind was corrupted by Satan, God has been doing everything in His power to save them, so that they could be of one heart and mind with Him. Now, God’s management plan is coming to an end, and God has already made a group of people who are of one heart and mind with Him. This group of people has been perfected through all the truths expressed by God in the last days. Does this not fulfill God’s prophecy, “make man in Our image”? (It does.) Then what is God’s image? Who can see God’s image? Who can imagine it? People cannot see God’s image, nor can they imagine it. But after God has expressed all the truths that people should possess, can you see God’s image based on these truths that He has expressed? (Yes.) Then what is God’s image? God’s image is righteousness, holiness, light, and the truth. God’s image can be confirmed through all the truths He has expressed. You can see His image from the truths He expresses; you can see that God is righteousness, God is holiness, God is light, and God is the truth. What God has and is is made manifest in His words. In the last days, God has expressed all these truths that enable mankind to attain salvation. Has God’s statement, “make man in Our image,” not been fulfilled? (It has.) These truths are the life that God has bestowed upon mankind. Did God express these truths when He created Adam and Eve? At that time, God did not express these truths. Only in the last days did God begin to express all the truths that mankind needs and to work on this group of people. If this group of people lives out the image of the truth, then they are truly human; they conform to God’s image. Is this not the most meaningful thing? (It is.) How exactly should you live so that you are truly human? How can you live so that you meet the standard of a true human being? How can you live in the most meaningful way? How can you live so that you gain the Creator’s approval? This has always been a mystery, and no one can answer these questions. Thinkers and writers cannot answer them, nor can scientists or theologians. No one can answer them. Only when God comes to work and express the truth can these matters be explained clearly. The Lord Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). In the last days, Almighty God also said: “God is the truth, the way, and the life. His words and His appearance exist concurrently, and His disposition and footsteps are shown publicly to mankind at all times” (The Word, Vol. 1. The Appearance and Work of God. Appendix 1: The Appearance of God Has Ushered in a New Age). What does God mean by these words? He points out the path for people and leads the way, so that they can enter into the truth reality He has expressed. Once you enter into the truth reality, you will have fulfilled the meaning of being human, and you will be clear on what kind of likeness you should live out and what standards you should live by. All this truth reality is only being expressed by God in the last days. When people enter into these truths, they live out the likeness of a true human being. This is the result achieved by God’s work in the last days, and only God can accomplish this work; no human is capable of it. Is that not so? (It is.) Once Almighty God expressed all these truths in the last days, those who love the truth feel, “These truths are so precious. They are the criteria for how to conduct ourselves, the very basis for our self-conduct. With these truths, we have a direction and a goal in our self-conduct, and we know what we should pursue and what we should gain.” God’s sheep hear God’s voice, and the sheep who are chosen by God can recognize just how precious these truths are. Now, I see some of God’s chosen people from around the world sharing experiential testimonies in their church life; they give very good testimonies. Some brothers and sisters say, “The greatest thing I’ve gained from my belief in Almighty God is that I have come to know my own corrupt dispositions by eating and drinking His words, and I feel that my corrupt dispositions are changing.” Is this not a precious experiential understanding? This is a gain from believing in Almighty God. They have only believed in Almighty God for a few years, and yet they have already gained a change in their disposition. That’s an extraordinary thing! People could believe for thousands of years in the Age of Law and the Age of Grace and never achieve this result, but in the Age of Kingdom, they have achieved it after believing in God for just a few years. This is the result achieved by the truth! A change in disposition is leagues beyond a change in behavior; it is the highest form of change. To achieve a change in disposition in your belief in God is the greatest change, a change that involves your very substance and essence. This change is truly extraordinary; it is equivalent to the experience of being resurrected from the dead. Can we say this? (Yes.) It might seem like a bit of an exaggeration to describe it in this way, but it’s not contrary to the facts, and it’s quite fitting, is it not? (It is.) Is that about enough regarding “what the truth is” in the first question? (It is.)
Question 2: People in some countries are under a lot of pressure in their lives. When we talk about how the work of judgment can cleanse people’s sins, they do not feel this is what they need, and some of them stop coming afterward. How should we fellowship so they can understand that God using the truth to do the work of judgment can solve all of people’s problems, including the problems in their lives?
Answer: What are religious people most concerned about when they investigate the true way? They are most concerned about whether this way will allow them to enter the kingdom of heaven, survive the great catastrophes, and receive rewards. These are the topics they care about most. They are not concerned about what a sinful nature is, how to have their sins cleansed, how to achieve a change in disposition, how to gain the truth, or how to attain salvation. They don’t care about these topics; in fact, these are the topics they like discussing the least. So, when you talk about these things while preaching the gospel, they find it uninteresting and don’t want to listen anymore. But if you were to say, “Just believe in Almighty God earnestly, and as long as you do some good things, God will take you to the kingdom of heaven,” they would immediately perk up. What is the problem here? Such people believe in God only to seek benefits and blessings. If you testify to them by saying, “Almighty God has come in the last days to express the truth and do the work of judgment to completely save mankind, and to cleanse their corrupt dispositions so they can fully escape Satan’s influence. Only by accepting God’s judgment and chastisement and having your corrupt dispositions cleansed and changed can you be brought into the kingdom of heaven by God”—if you testify to them that this is the process of entering the kingdom, what will they say? “There’s so much involved in entering the kingdom of heaven! You have to accept the truth, accept judgment, chastisement, trials, and refinements, and even cast off your corrupt dispositions and achieve submission to God before you can enter. That’s way too much trouble, and it’s completely different from what we imagined. We just figured that when the Lord returned, He would instantly rapture us into the air, and we’d be in heaven!” You see, their imaginings are so vague and simplistic. Most religious people believe in God just to eat their fill of loaves; it’s all for the sake of receiving blessings and entering the kingdom of heaven. They aren’t interested in the truth, so when you fellowship with them that entering the kingdom of heaven involves an actual process of experiencing judgment and chastisement, and requires gaining so many truths, they lose interest, get put off, and stop coming to the sermons. Is that not how it is? (It is.) So, is there any way to get such people to accept the truth? If they don’t love the truth, no one can make them accept it. Therefore, you shouldn’t waste your effort on those who do not love or accept the truth. Instead, you should find ways to gain those who have comprehension ability and who love the truth. When you preach the gospel, focus on the most crucial topics, the ones people are most concerned about. For example, you must fellowship on topics like how to welcome the Lord, the relationship between accepting God’s work of judgment in the last days and welcoming the Lord and entering the kingdom of heaven, as well as the consequences of not accepting God’s judgment in the last days. You need to help them understand that if they do not accept the Son of man who expresses the truth in the last days and do not accept the work of judgment done by God, then the kingdom of heaven will have nothing to do with them and they will have no share in it. All their hopes in believing in the Lord will come to nothing. Only those who accept Almighty God’s work of judgment in the last days have hope of attaining salvation and entering the kingdom of heaven. If you fellowship these things clearly with them, won’t it be easier for them to accept? (It will.)
Question 3: When we talk about the need to be sanctified to enter the kingdom of heaven, potential gospel recipients will say, “As long as a person lives in the flesh, they can never stop sinning.” They have doubts about the point that one must be sanctified to enter the kingdom of heaven. How should we answer this question?
Answer: They say that “As long as a person lives in the flesh, they can never stop sinning.” Does that statement hold water? (No.) If what they said were true, then people could never stop sinning, so how could God’s work of salvation ever be accomplished? It would be impossible. That statement of theirs is simply not valid. Is it true that people cannot stop sinning? Tell me, did Job sin? Did Abraham sin? I tell you, they did not commit those kinds of sins in their conduct; they were free of sins in their conduct. But were there times when they developed notions? And when they did, were they maybe a bit rebellious? Yes, they had this problem too. Because they also had corrupt dispositions, it was inevitable that when they encountered things and didn’t have knowledge of God, they would have some notions, view things based on their imaginings, and sometimes become a bit negative or rebellious. That sort of thing did happen. But they did not sin in their conduct; you couldn’t find any faults in their conduct. Take Job, for example. His children often feasted lavishly, but he never participated. He would also frequently offer sacrifices for them. Job had a God-fearing heart and he also had love for others, so he did not sin. Then there’s Abraham. Look at the biblical record of Abraham—the humanity he lived out and his faith in and submission to God were beyond what ordinary people could achieve. The act of Abraham offering Isaac is something no one in the last days could do. It can be said that Job and Abraham were the people with the most faith in and submission to God. They were also the best and kindest people of that age. They simply did not engage in sinful conduct. Can we say this? (Yes.) So, do you know what sinning is? Actually, in God’s eyes, sinning refers to rebelling against God, judging God, resisting God, and blaspheming God. In the Age of Law, for example, although people were restrained by the Ten Commandments and over six hundred laws, most of them still sinned in their conduct. Only a few who had kind humanity and were God-fearing and submissive could manage not to sin. People like Abraham and Job basically did not sin in their conduct. Is that not how it was? (Yes.) However, even though they were kind-hearted and did not sin in their conduct, there were still aspects of God they did not know, and they still had corrupt dispositions. This is a fact no one can deny. Therefore, God expresses the truth and does the work of judgment in the last days to cleanse people’s corrupt dispositions and to solve the problem of sinning at its very root. If people can truly accept all the truths expressed by God and accept God’s judgment and chastisement, they will come to have knowledge of God’s righteous disposition. Tell me, when a person has knowledge of God’s righteous disposition, what result will be achieved? The most important thing is that they will have a God-fearing heart. When a person truly has a God-fearing heart, they will no longer do evil; they will shun evil. So, doesn’t that mean such a person has been cleansed? (Yes.) Job was able to fear God and shun evil, and so he was a perfect human. What does this term “perfect human” refer to? It refers to a person who no longer does anything bad or evil, and is able to fear God and shun evil; that’s what it means to become a perfect human. So what is the path to becoming a perfect person? You must possess a God-fearing heart. This is the most fundamental and crucial thing. Job never experienced judgment and chastisement, but because he had a God-fearing heart, he shunned all evil deeds. You see, having a God-fearing heart can solve many problems. If you have a God-fearing heart and truly achieve not doing evil—you do no evil deeds whatsoever—then God will say you are a perfect person. Some people lack a God-fearing heart, so they always want to judge and condemn the people, events, and things they cannot see clearly. They are jealous of those who are better than them and belittle them. This is acting by corrupt dispositions; it is sinning. Therefore, if your corrupt dispositions are not resolved, they will cause you to casually judge and pass verdicts on things, and that is a very serious matter. Only by accepting God’s judgment and chastisement in the last days and coming to have knowledge and fear of God can you manage not to speak or act rashly when it comes to things you cannot see clearly. This is what it means to truly stop sinning.
Question 4: After listening to us testify, potential gospel recipients come to understand that in the last days, God appears and works in the incarnation and has opened the little scroll, but they still ask us who wrote the book The Word Appears in the Flesh. We fellowship with them that the words in this book were personally expressed by the incarnate God, but some of them still do not quite understand. How can we fellowship on this topic in a way that is easier for people to understand?
Answer: If a potential gospel recipient doesn’t know who wrote the book The Word Appears in the Flesh, then you should ask them, “Tell me, what kind of person could write this book? Could a scientist write it? An author? A literary figure? A linguist? A religious theologian? Could the experts and scholars who study the Bible, or the pastors and elders write it? No one among all of corrupt mankind could have written this book. The words in this book were all expressed by Almighty God, and they were all written by Almighty God. This is sufficient to show that Almighty God is the incarnate God. What is there left to doubt? If you don’t acknowledge that these words were expressed by Almighty God, then tell me, who else could express these truths? Absolutely no one else can express the truth. Is that not so?” What do you think of answering the question this way? (It’s a good way to answer it.)
Question 5: After we testify to the name of Almighty God, some potential gospel recipients are able to understand what we are talking about, but they don’t clearly state whether they accept it, saying only that they want to listen some more. Besides testifying to the truths expressed by God and the results of His work, what other ways can we use to help this kind of person determine that what we are speaking of is the appearance and work of God?
Answer: Some potential gospel recipients have only been listening to sermons for a few days and can’t yet be certain that what you are speaking of is the appearance and work of God. Is this not perfectly normal? Tell me, can a child recognize their parents just a few months after they’re born? (No.) Then how old do they have to be to recognize their parents? (Three to five years old.) By the time they’re three to five, they will know who their parents are. Is this not the case? (Yes, this is a normal process.) When people investigate the true way, they have only just learned that the incarnate God has appeared to work, and they have only just come into contact with the truths He has expressed. Can they cast aside their notions and accept it after just a few days of listening to sermons? Can they see clearly what God’s work is all about? Is this achievable? (No.) Can they reach the point of fully acknowledging in their hearts that the Lord has returned and that Almighty God is the return of the Lord Jesus? Can this result be achieved? (No.) So, do you have any surefire method that can make them immediately understand that God has truly returned? (No.) There is no such method. So how should this problem be resolved? (By reading more of God’s words to them and fellowshipping more on God’s words. After a while, they will know that God has returned.) That’s right. The solution is to have potential gospel recipients attend more gatherings, listen to more sermons, and hear more of Almighty God’s words. If they then read more of God’s words on their own, after a few months, they will be able to understand some truths. They will then be certain that Almighty God is the Lord Jesus returned, and there won’t be a shadow of a doubt in their hearts. Tell me, when people accept God’s work, join the church, and begin to live the church life, are their hearts free of all questions and notions? (No, they still have notions in their hearts.) Then if they still have notions in their hearts, how is it that they are still able to accept God’s work? What’s going on here? (They accept God’s work because after listening to the sermons, they feel that what is being said is right, and they feel that the words of Almighty God are the truth. But the questions and notions in their hearts can only be truly resolved after a period of eating, drinking, and experiencing God’s words.) That’s right. This is a normal phenomenon. Everyone goes through this process when accepting God’s work. Do you now understand how this problem should be resolved? Read more of Almighty God’s words to these potential gospel recipients and have them listen to more sermons. If one of them says, “I didn’t quite understand, but I’d like to keep listening,” then they can continue to listen. They can listen to these sermons for a month or two. We shouldn’t restrict their listening to sermons. What if you were to say, “Others accepted the gospel after listening for eight days, but you have been listening for ten and still don’t understand. You lack spiritual understanding, so we’re not going to preach to you anymore.” Would that be good? (No.) You must be patient. People’s caliber varies, and the time it takes for them to accept the truth also varies. Some people have better caliber and quicker comprehension, and they can become certain of God’s return after eight days of listening to sermons. Others have poorer caliber and are slower to comprehend. They might listen for a month and still not fully understand, but they are willing to investigate. In that case, we must give them time to listen to more sermons. Believing in God is a momentous matter. Who can make such a decision lightly or rashly? Right? (Right.) It’s like two people who are dating. If they want to get married after only knowing each other for eight days, would that be acceptable? (No.) Why not? (It would be too rash. They still don’t know each other.) In those eight days, can the two of them get to know each other just by talking a lot? (No.) People can only truly get to know one another after spending time together. Some people are introverted and don’t talk much. To grasp their personality and temperament, you might need to be around them for a year or two. If you want to see through to their nature essence and understand what kind of person they truly are, you might not be able to, even after ten or twenty years. How long does it take to see clearly whether a person pursues the truth? (Three to five years.) Some people can be seen through in a few days, others in perhaps a year or two. But some people are more reserved and cunning, hiding their true selves, so they are not easy to see through. Tell me, is the essence of a devil king easy to see through? (No, it’s not.) How many years would you need to see through a devil king? How many years would you need to see through a scheming and calculating person? You couldn’t see through such a person even after three to five years. You can only see through them when a major event reveals them. Without a specific event to reveal them, we can’t see through them. Seeing through a person is no simple matter, and becoming certain of God’s work is even less so. Some people have comprehension ability and some caliber, and after listening to a few days of fellowship and testimony, they are close to acceptance. At the very least, they can acknowledge that this is the true way and are willing to join the church. But this does not mean that they no longer have any doubts or notions. After they join church life, they still need to continue reading God’s words. After a period of experience, once they understand the truths of God’s work in the last days, they will have no more notions and will be absolutely certain. This is the normal pattern. Is this not the case? (It is.)
Question 6: To help potential gospel recipients gain discernment of pastors and elders, we sometimes dissect the matter of the Pharisees nailing the Lord Jesus to the cross. However, some religious people can’t connect these two matters to discern the leaders of today’s religious world. Instead, they say we are judging pastors and elders. How can we fellowship with wisdom and enable potential gospel recipients to gain discernment of pastors and elders?
Answer: You need to list the deeds of the Pharisees that the Lord Jesus dissected, and then fellowship on and thoroughly dissect the essence of those deeds for them. They will then be able to make comparisons and gain discernment of pastors and elders. If you don’t take what the Pharisees did and dissect it clearly, you won’t achieve the desired result. You must also list the manifestations of the Pharisees’ hypocrisy so that potential gospel recipients can see that the pastors and elders of today’s religious world are just as hypocritical. When listing those manifestations, you must speak in a realistic and practical way. Seeing how concretely and practically you dissect the Pharisees will enable potential gospel recipients to connect the two and gain discernment of pastors and elders. They will say, “How is it that the Pharisees’ behavior that you are dissecting sounds exactly the same as the usual behavior of our pastors and elders?” You should also explain to them why the Pharisees resisted and condemned the Lord Jesus so frantically. The Lord Jesus only expressed the truth and performed signs and wonders, so why did the Pharisees resist and condemn the Lord so frantically? They didn’t acknowledge that the Lord Jesus was the incarnate God, that He was Christ. They could have just not believed in Him, so why did they have to nail Him to the cross? What is the issue here? Weren’t they incredibly vicious? (Yes.) The Lord Jesus did nothing to harm their interests. He only expressed truths that would lead people to repent and forgave their sins. Why did they harbor such great hatred for Him? What was the nature of this issue? Once you have thoroughly explained these details, the religious people will ask, “Why did they nail the Lord Jesus to the cross? The Lord Jesus never did anything wrong, and He had no personal grudge against Judaism. Why did they hate Him so much?” You should let the potential gospel recipients analyze and dissect this matter for themselves. Let them answer this question, and they will start to ponder the root of the issue. After they have pondered it, you can then say, “Today, Almighty God has expressed so many truths. Why do the leaders of the religious world so frantically condemn, resist, and blaspheme Almighty God? What’s going on here? Does this not represent their nature essence? Those who believe in the Lord talk most about love, patience, and forgiveness. They can even pray for and bless the CCP, this demonic group that is the most vicious and God-resisting in the world. So why are they so hateful and hostile toward Almighty God? What’s going on here?” What do you think of fellowshipping this way? (This is a good way to fellowship. It makes them think.) You must present the facts and let them do the analysis. If you have laid out all these facts with examples and explained them thoroughly, and they still don’t accept it or reflect, and they still believe you are judging pastors and elders, then you should say, “Why do the pastors and elders judge and condemn Almighty God? What’s going on here? Is it not a great sin for them to do so? Almighty God has expressed so many truths in the last days. If pastors and elders truly loved the Lord in their hearts and truly yearned for the Lord’s return, they should seek and investigate the work of Almighty God in the last days. But why do they not do this, and instead they judge and condemn Him? Is it not a great sin for them to judge and condemn Almighty God? What is the nature of this?” What do you think of saying this to them? (It’s good.)
