How to Pursue and Gain the Truth (11)

Fellowship From the Brother Above – October 15, 2025 (Part Six)

II. Questions Regarding Life Entry

Question 10: During the process of preaching the gospel, some leaders and workers don’t focus on life entry. When their gospel work doesn’t get results, they always attribute the problem to a lack of potential gospel recipients or to the recipients’ lack of comprehension abilities. They wallow in their difficulties, constantly trying to justify themselves, and they don’t reflect on or come to know themselves. How can we guide them to learn to seek the truth in their duty, and to reflect on and come to know themselves when they encounter problems?

Answer: Tell me, is it not troublesome if leaders and workers don’t pursue the truth? (Yes.) In what way is it troublesome? First, if they don’t pursue the truth and don’t have the truth reality, they cannot solve real problems, and their performance of duty will certainly not get results. Second, will the people they lead be able to enter into the truth reality? (No.) In the Bible it says: “And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch(Matthew 15:14). Who is this referring to? Is it not talking about false leaders who don’t pursue the truth? False leaders are blind, and the pastors and elders of the religious world are also blind. When such people lead a church, they can end up leading everyone into a ditch. Is this not true? (It is.) Why do we say the pastors and elders of the religious world are blind? Almighty God has expressed so many truths, the gospel of the kingdom has spread to all the nations of the world, and God has done such great work, yet they cannot see any of it. Tell me, just how blind must they be? Is it an exaggeration to call them blind? (No, it’s not.) So why do we say that false leaders are blind? If they don’t pursue the truth in their duty, are they not blind? (They are.) If they encounter a difficulty in their duty and don’t reflect on themselves or seek the truth, then what’s the point of their doing their duty that way? They are not even qualified as service-doers. How much time do people have left to pursue the truth and do their duty? Eight years? Ten? No. There’s not even that much time. The disasters are growing ever greater. Will it not be a problem if you wait until the disasters are upon you to start pursuing the truth? (Yes.) So, if people don’t pursue the truth now, and when they encounter problems, they neither reflect on themselves nor seek the truth to resolve these problems, then are they not blind? (They are.) How should such a leader be dealt with? If they still don’t properly pursue the truth or seek the truth to resolve their own problems after you’ve fellowshipped with them and dissected their problems, then God’s chosen people should dismiss them at once. Most leaders elected in the past worked merely out of enthusiasm. Initially, everyone saw that they were very enthusiastic and so elected them as leaders. But as it turned out, after they were elected, they didn’t pursue the truth. They just did things out of enthusiasm and without principle, and their performance of duty yielded no real results. There are also brothers and sisters who, although they haven’t believed in God for long, seem to be pursuing the truth quite diligently, even more so in fact than those who have believed in God for a long time. So, tell me, when it’s time to elect leaders again, who should be elected? (Those who pursue the truth.) When leaders and workers work, they must constantly observe the people in the church. If brothers or sisters who have good comprehension and who pursue the truth are found, promoting these people to be leaders and workers is much better than keeping those who don’t do practical work, right? (Right.) Then you should promote these people at once. Whoever pursues the truth, whoever has the truth reality, and whoever gets results in their duty should be promoted to be a leader or worker. Is this a good principle to follow? (It is.) If a leader becomes complacent and content with the status quo after being made a leader, and they don’t pursue the truth or serve any real purpose, then are they not a false leader? Should they not be removed? (They should.) Is there any need to wait until an election to remove them? (No.) If you always insist on waiting for that date, waiting until election day to eliminate them, is this not just abiding by regulations? (It is.) Remember this, whenever any level of your decision-making groups discovers a leader or worker who does not do real work, who is just perfunctory in their duty, who just complains about how hard things are when problems arise instead of seeking the truth, and who cannot shoulder work no matter how they are helped, such a leader should be removed. When removing them, you should also fellowship a little with them. You can say, “If you weren’t a leader, God wouldn’t detest or eliminate you. But you became a leader and yet you didn’t pursue the truth or do real work. You have impacted the work of God’s house, caused brothers and sisters to stumble, and hindered their pursuit of the truth. You have brought harm to all of them. If this continues, it will provoke God’s anger.” If you fellowship with them in this way, it will be easier for them to submit. They might say, “Then please remove me at once. I am willing to submit to the arrangements of God’s house and be an ordinary follower.” Such a person still has some sense of reason. If you don’t do real work and your duty yields no results, and yet you cling to your position, are you not offending God? If you have any sense of reason, you should step down on your own initiative. Remember, if there are leaders or workers who are beyond help, who just complain about how hard things are and don’t do real work, then they are lost causes and must be dismissed and eliminated immediately. Don’t wait for them to lose the election. Do not abide by this regulation. If an election is still six months away, a huge amount of work will be held up in those six months, right? (Right.) All those who cannot do the work should be removed at once, and then brothers and sisters who pursue the truth should be chosen to step up and fill these roles. Is this not a good way of doing things? (It is.)

Question 11: I am willing to fulfill my duty, but I’ve discovered that my intentions in doing so are wrong. Nothing I do is for the sake of satisfying God’s intentions, but instead, everything I do is just in the hope of receiving others’ praise and approval. How can I resolve this problem?

Answer: The person who asked this question is quite reasonable. They’ve realized that their intentions in doing their duty are wrong and they want to seek the truth to resolve this. First, you must figure out whether you place excessive importance on vanity and face, or if you love God. If a person does not have a heart that loves God, how can they satisfy Him? The intentions of people who place too much importance on vanity and face are wrong, and God does not approve of anything they do. Is this statement easy to understand? Someone who doesn’t have spiritual understanding cannot comprehend these words. They might say, “God won’t approve just because my intentions are wrong? Intentions are the most hidden things; if I don’t speak of them or expose them, who could possibly know about them?” Is this right? (No.) Such a person does not know that God scrutinizes the human heart and innermost being. They do not know that God is almighty. To what extent is God almighty? To what extent does God scrutinize the human heart and innermost being? This is a mystery and a truth. If you can see through this matter, you will have a God-fearing heart, and you will not dare to deceive God. Let me tell you the extent to which God scrutinizes the human heart and innermost being. God knows every thought you have the moment it arises. He even knows what thoughts you will have before you even have them. God also knows what thoughts you will have and what things you will do when you encounter something several days or even several years from now. It’s not that God doesn’t know your thoughts before they have come forth or that God only knows your thoughts after they arise, but that He knows them even before they are formed. To what depth, would you say, does God scrutinize the human heart? God knows the thoughts you haven’t yet had, and He also knows what will happen in the future. God knows the things in your very bones that you yourself are completely unaware of, and He knows what you will be capable of doing in the future and what the consequences of these actions will be. This is the extent to which God scrutinizes the human heart and innermost being. Can you see through this matter now? (Somewhat.) If you truly experience this to the point of being able to see through it, then you will have a God-fearing heart. How does a God-fearing heart come to be? First, you recognize that God scrutinizes the human heart and innermost being, and that He knows every thought in the human heart, and this is absolutely true. When you have experienced this matter to this degree, you will be utterly convinced of God’s almightiness and His scrutiny of the human heart and innermost being, and a God-fearing heart will naturally come to be. Second, when you see God’s righteous disposition revealed, and when God unleashes His wrath, you can also come to have a God-fearing heart. If you then also experience the judgment, chastisement, chastening, and discipline of God’s words, then this will be even better, and your God-fearing heart will become even stronger. Do you understand? (We do.) Furthermore, experiencing God’s work is not just about experiencing the things that happen to you. The larger proportion of this is about seeing what happens to others, what they have gained from those things, and what you in turn have gained from hearing their experiential testimony. This is what is meant by “indirect gain.” What is indirect gain? It is when you gain from the experiences of others that you yourself have not gone through and reap harvests from harvests that you yourself have not sown. This is indirect gain. Some people say, “What others experience has nothing to do with me. If I haven’t experienced it, then it doesn’t count as a gain to me.” Is this correct? (No.) That’s just wrong. You see, some people go through an experience and gain no truth from it, but other brothers and sisters learn of their experience, and they seek the truth through what happened to these people, and in the end, these other brothers and sisters gain the truth. Tell me, the person who had the experience learned no lesson, yet onlookers did. What’s going on here? The onlookers know how to gain the truth. So how exactly is the truth gained? If you only gain the truth from the things that happen to you, then the truth you gain will be very limited. You must also gain insights from many more people and from their experiences, and then add this to what you have gained from your own experiences. In this way, won’t the truth you gain be much richer? (It will.) So, do you know how to gain the truth in this way? If you do, the truth you gain will be rich. If you don’t, and you only rely on your own experiences, then your progress in entering into the truth reality will be slow. Do you listen to others’ experiential testimonies? Suppose that you see a good experiential testimony from a brother or sister and can recognize, “This is a good experiential testimony. This is the work and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Although I haven’t gone through this myself, by listening to their experience, I’ve come to understand some truth and God’s intentions, and I’ve also found a path of practice and gained a little knowledge of God. It’s as if I’ve experienced what they have myself.” Is this not indirect gain? (It is.) You’re benefiting from someone else’s positive experience. By means of others encountering things and experiencing God’s work, you have benefited. Is this not benefiting from someone else’s positive experience? (It is.) So, do you watch others’ experiential testimonies? (We do.) When you do, do you ponder their experiences with your hearts? Every time you see someone else’s experiential testimony, you must ponder, “This situation they experienced was set up by God. In what context did God set up this situation for them? What result was this meant to achieve? During this process, how did they pray to God and seek the truth? In the end, how did the Holy Spirit’s work guide and enlighten them, enabling them to practice the truth and stand firm in their testimony?” If you can ponder in this way, you will be able to gain something from their experience. Although you haven’t yet experienced what they have, through the Holy Spirit’s work in them and through their experiential testimony, you have gained insight. God’s work on any person in the church is meant for all of God’s chosen people to see God’s work, understand God’s intentions, and reap the same harvest from that person’s experience. This is God’s intention and desire. When God works on any one person, it is equivalent to Him working on His chosen people in all of the churches. If you focus on seeking the truth and learning lessons from others’ experiences, then you too can gain a harvest. Therefore, we must understand God’s intentions and learn to gain the truth from the experiences of others. Many people say, “The great catastrophes are about to descend and there isn’t much time left to experience God’s work. How long will it take for me to experience and gain so many truths? Is there any kind of shortcut?” Have you figured out what this shortcut is? (Yes.) Firstly, you must read more of God’s words yourself, learn lessons from everything that befalls you, and gain the truth bestowed by God. Secondly, observe how the Holy Spirit works in all of God’s chosen people and what lessons they have learned. We can also gain the truth from the experiences of others. This is indirect gain. If you can find and enter into these two shortcuts, you will gain twice as much. Won’t your life thus grow more quickly? If you can gain indirectly from the experiential testimonies of one hundred people in the church, in addition to what you’ve gained from your own experience, that’s one hundred and one gains. Is this not a great harvest? (It is.) That is a huge harvest. Some people don’t believe this. They say, “That’s their experience, not mine. I’ve only gained a little from listening to it. Can my stature grow that way?” Let me tell you, although you haven’t experienced what they have, you have pondered their experience, received some illumination, and gained some harvest. If their stature grows an inch because of their experience, then yours can grow half an inch. Do you believe that? What you gain from their experience can pave the way and lay the foundation for your next experience. Is this not correct? (It is.) Is this not a harvest? (It is.) So, have you gained anything from listening to my fellowship today? (Yes.) But you haven’t yet experienced the things I’ve fellowshipped about, so what is your harvest? (We now have more paths of practice.) (Your fellowship has laid a foundation for our future experiences.) That’s the key point. My fellowship has laid a foundation for your future experiences. What do you think of me watering you? (We’ve gained a lot indirectly. We’re taking a shortcut.) In my sermons, do I speak any words and doctrines? (No.) I speak only practical words and words from the heart. This way of fellowshipping and preaching that I use is the simplest method: speaking from the heart, just chatting. Through chatting, all sorts of problems get resolved. Do you know how to fellowship in this way? (Not yet.) Then you must practice more. In your daily lives, you must focus on entering into the truth reality. Only when you have the truth reality can you fellowship with practical understanding.

Question 12: I know that the primary duty of a leader or worker is to fellowship on the truth to resolve problems, but I am severely lacking in this area. How can I enter into the truth reality more quickly and perform the primary duty of a leader or worker well?

Answer: Although you have become leaders and workers, your stature is not much different from that of ordinary brothers and sisters. Perhaps your caliber is a little better, or perhaps you have believed in God for longer than others, and this is why everyone chose you to be leaders and workers. But you must not forget that even as a leader or worker, you are still an ordinary believer. Your stature is the same as an ordinary believer’s; it won’t grow overnight. However, once you become a leader or worker, the burden on your shoulders is different from that of an ordinary believer. You are responsible for taking the lead and showing the way, and you are also responsible for resolving the various difficulties of brothers and sisters. If you feel that you are lacking in many ways, then you must work hard earlier on to compensate for your limitations. You must put more effort into the truth: read more of God’s words, equip yourself more with the truth, and listen to more sermons and fellowship. This will benefit the brothers and sisters and the work of the church. This means the price you pay cannot be the same as everyone else’s. You must get up earlier than others, suffer a bit more, and seek the truth more. After putting this effort into your pursuit for a period of time, and after you have experienced many things, learned to seek the truth, and become able to resolve problems, and you have a true experiential testimony, you will have finally made it through this hurdle. How many years does it generally take to overcome this hurdle? At least a year or so. In about a year, you will at the very least be able to resolve small, immediate problems and overcome small, immediate hurdles. It’s just that there will still be some major problems and hurdles that you won’t know how to handle, so you must always put in the effort. Then how should this effort be applied? For example, if there is someone in the church who is not attentive in their duty, how do you resolve this problem? You must seek the truth and ponder why they are not attentive in their duty, where the root of the problem lies, and what corrupt disposition is controlling them. If you cannot see through these things on your own, you can fellowship with other leaders and workers to thoroughly discern the root of the problem, and then find a few passages of God’s words that address that root. Once all of these things are prepared, you then read these passages of God’s words to them, fellowship on this aspect of the truth until it is clear, and dissect the essence of the problem. This will achieve results. If they accept the truth, they will say, “What you said is exactly right. That’s just how it is,” and their attitude toward their duty may begin to change. You see, by following this path to practice and fellowship on the truth, you can resolve problems. If you can resolve a dozen or so common and widespread problems by fellowshipping on the truth, then you will know how to resolve general problems. Once you can resolve twenty or thirty problems by fellowshipping on the truth, and the results are quite good, it can be said that you will not have many difficulties in your current work. And if you can reach the point of resolving these twenty or thirty problems, will your growth in this one year not be great? (It will.) It is sure to be great, because to resolve these problems, you will have equipped yourself with a lot of truths. Just like when nonbelievers are about to take an exam, don’t they also have to review their notes a few days in advance? (Yes.) You must also prepare beforehand in order to resolve problems. You must first equip yourself with the relevant truth and ponder it thoroughly before fellowshipping with others. This way, you will get better results. If you’re not getting very good results when you’re resolving problems on your own, then two or three of you can partner up to fellowship. One of you says a little, then another says a little. You each speak a portion, and together you can fellowship on the matter at hand thoroughly and resolve the problem completely. Isn’t that also good? After partnering up for a period of time, you will be able to resolve problems independently. Will your stature not have grown by then? (It will have.) Remember, as leaders and workers, you must do your homework and make preparations before holding a gathering to resolve problems. If you don’t prepare well, the gathering may fail. You must make thorough preparations. You must be clear in your heart about which passages of God’s words you are to read and about which aspects of the truth you are to fellowship on. In addition, you must know and see through to the essence of the problem to be resolved, to the point where you can fellowship on it thoroughly. If all these preparations have been made, the gathering will achieve results. If you don’t prepare at all, neglect your proper duties, sleep in and engage in idle chatter all day, and go out for strolls when you have nothing to do, and then at the gathering you just preach some simple words and doctrines, and you are unable to see through anything or dissect it thoroughly, and the passages of God’s words you choose are not very accurate, then you will not resolve problems. This is just being perfunctory and going through the motions. Therefore, you must do your homework for every gathering. Never fight a battle you’re not prepared for. Ensure that every gathering yields results and can resolve real problems. In this way, each gathering will be of great benefit to God’s chosen people. This is leading God’s chosen people into the truth reality. The more problems you resolve, the more of the truth reality God’s chosen people will enter into, and the deeper their life entry will be. If you resolve too few problems, then their life entry will certainly be very shallow, and at most, they will only understand some words and doctrines. So, do you do your homework thoroughly for every gathering? Do you prepare fully? This is something every leader and worker should enter into. You must do your homework thoroughly for every gathering. Your own understanding of the truth is already shallow, so if you then fail to do your homework thoroughly, aren’t you just bringing harm to people as a leader? Aren’t you holding things up? Leaders and workers must be able to identify problems from the actual situation in the church, see which problems ought to be resolved, and then quickly seek the truth to see through to the root of the problems and find the necessary passages of God’s words. Once all this homework is done, you can resolve the problem in a single gathering. After you have resolved the problem, if the brothers and sisters say, “This gathering was really good, we gained so much! My problem has truly been resolved!” then this proves that your gathering was very good and that it achieved practical results. Some people ask, “Why can’t we resolve problems in our gatherings?” It’s because you haven’t prepared or done your homework, and so you can’t resolve problems. Some people ask, “Doesn’t the Holy Spirit work to resolve people’s problems?” The Holy Spirit’s work requires human cooperation. You must do the preparatory work that you ought to do. If you don’t prepare and just wait for the Holy Spirit to work unilaterally, the Holy Spirit will not act in that way. He will not do anything supernatural. You must cooperate in a practical way for the Holy Spirit to work and to guide you in resolving problems. Is this not how it is? (It is.) In the past, I was able to resolve many problems in every gathering, but some problems were not fellowshipped on very clearly or resolved very thoroughly. Afterward, I still had to do my homework and ponder how to resolve the problems completely. Once I had figured it out, I would hold another gathering and resolve the problems completely, so that the brothers and sisters were perfectly clear on them. Sometimes, a problem wasn’t completely resolved even after two gatherings, so I would find another opportunity to hold another one, determined to resolve the problem completely. If everyone said they were clear on it, then I would stop fellowshipping on it. This is the spirit of not resting until the problem is thoroughly resolved. Do you have this kind of resolve in your work? If you don’t, you cannot be a good leader. Do you think it’s possible to fellowship on the truth thoroughly without paying a price? If you don’t pay a price or put in the effort to ponder, and you are perfunctory in your duty, the Holy Spirit will not work on you or enlighten you. You will not achieve any results in your duty, and you will be holding up the work of God’s house. Do you understand? (We do.)
