How to Pursue and Gain the Truth (12)
Fellowship From the Brother Above – November 3, 2025 (Part Three)
How does God achieve results through expressing the truth to judge and cleanse man? Does God have people stand before Him one by one to be judged? (No.) God has never said, “Come before Me, for I will judge you now.” This isn’t how God judges man. God simply has people read His words, accept the truth, and accept His judgment and chastisement. He has people earnestly read His words and earnestly pursue the truth. As long as people pursue the truth, they are accepting judgment and chastisement, and they can cast off their corrupt dispositions to attain salvation and survive. Most of God’s chosen people have begun to focus on reading God’s words. When they read God’s words, they feel judged and their consciences are reproached. They begin to know and reflect on themselves, and they discover that they have corrupt dispositions. The moment you discover that you have corrupt dispositions, you realize, “No wonder I could never resolve my sinning when I believed in the Lord Jesus in the Age of Grace. I was always sinning by day and confessing by night, and I spent my days in a cycle of sinning and confessing. It turns out that I actually have corrupt dispositions within me. So when can I cast off these corrupt dispositions?” You see, when people realize they have corrupt dispositions, is this not the beginning of their entry into God’s words? (It is.) In the Age of Grace, the Lord Jesus promised man: “When He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13). These words have already been fulfilled in the last days. Most of those who have accepted Almighty God and eaten and drunk God’s words for a year or two, or even three to five years, have realized that they have corrupt dispositions. This is accepting the judgment and chastisement of God’s words. Some people have not only come to know their corrupt dispositions, but have also borne experiential testimonies of casting off corrupt dispositions and overcoming Satan. That Almighty God’s work can have such results is enough to prove that Almighty God is the Spirit of truth who has come, and that the Lord Jesus’ prophecy has been fulfilled. In the on-the-scene reports on church life in various countries, each episode features two or three people sharing their experiential testimonies. There are experiential testimonies of knowing oneself and casting off corrupt dispositions, and experiential testimonies of understanding God’s intentions and standing firm in testimony amid trials. These experiential testimonies are the initial results achieved by people accepting judgment and chastisement. One day, when the disasters become greater, the trials and refinement people will have to experience will be greater, and they will be able to bear testimony that is even more resounding. What is meant by a testimony that is even more resounding? It means that you will have gained the truth, entered into the truth reality, and gained God’s approval. This is a testimony that is even more resounding. You see, the testimony Abraham bore was approved of and blessed by God. That was the greatest blessing! The testimony Job bore also gained God’s approval, so God said Job was a perfect man who feared God and shunned evil. Tell me, is it not a truly precious thing for a person to gain God’s approval in this life? Can such a thing be bought with money? God’s approval cannot be bought with any amount of money. Only those who bear resounding testimony can gain it. Abraham and Job suffered so much pain in their trials, and in the end, they were able to stand firm in their testimony, and so they gained God’s approval. So, where is the evidence of having gained the truth in one’s belief in God? It depends on whether the testimony you bear for God is resounding. A person’s testimony says it all. Then how can the phrase “Only by pursuing the truth can one survive” be realized? By pursuing the truth, people can resolve their corrupt dispositions. By pursuing the truth, people come to do their duty in a way that is up to standard. By pursuing the truth, people achieve true submission to God. Finally, by pursuing the truth, people can come to love God to the utmost. When people gain such stature, resounding testimony will follow. No matter what trials or temptations befall you, you will be able to bear resounding testimony. If you have resounding testimony, you will have gained the truth and you will be a person who follows God’s will. God’s work on you will be completed, you will have gained God’s approval, and you will be able to survive. Is this testimony not absolutely crucial? (It is.) The ultimate result we want to achieve in pursuing the truth is to be able to bear resounding testimony for God. This testimony is the evidence and basis for people gaining God’s approval. God determines your outcome based on whether you have testimony. Whether you have testimony proves whether you have the truth. Is this not practical? (It is.) God is most practical in His approval of people. God evaluates people according to their testimony. God does not speak empty, unfounded words. The saints approved of by God throughout the ages all had God’s words as evidence. God approved of them based on the testimonies they bore. For example, God approved of Abraham because of the testimony he bore. God asked Abraham to offer up his only son Isaac, and he was able to submit and offer up Isaac. When God saw Abraham’s submission, He approved of him. This testimony of Abraham’s was extraordinary. Ordinary people could not bear such a testimony. Many times, you do not know why certain situations befall you, but they contain God’s good intentions. God’s good intention is for you to bear testimony to shame Satan. If you seek the truth and stand firm in your testimony, then God’s work on you has achieved results and God is satisfied. From the time people begin to accept God’s work of the last days until they can finally bear the most resounding testimony, how much suffering must they endure and how much of a price must they pay? If people do not suffer or pay a price, can they gain the truth? Once people gain the truth, they can bear testimony. Can people bear testimony without gaining the truth? (They cannot.) The entire religious world has believed in the Lord Jesus for two thousand years, but who among them has borne testimony? How many among them have knowledge of God? How many among them, upon reading Almighty God’s words, can say, “I have heard God’s voice, and I must turn to Almighty God”? Not many. Thus, this one matter of God becoming flesh and expressing the truth has revealed the entire religious world. Not a single person in the religious world has testimony, and not a single person truly knows the Lord Jesus. If people truly knew the Lord Jesus, why do they not recognize Him now that He has returned to the flesh? Is the Spirit of the incarnate Almighty God not the Spirit of the Lord Jesus? Is this not the Spirit of God? God is just wearing a different flesh. Is God wearing a different flesh not equivalent to Him changing clothes? If people do not recognize God just because He has changed clothes, do they really know God? They do not. Not a single person in the entire religious world knows the Lord Jesus, and not a single person knows God incarnate. How is it that Almighty God is able to express so many truths? Whose Spirit is the Spirit of Almighty God? Is this the Spirit of Jehovah God or the Spirit of the Lord Jesus? Can religious people explain this clearly? They cannot. Yet they neither seek nor investigate the matter of such magnitude as Almighty God expressing the truth. They blindly pass verdict on Almighty God just because He is completely ordinary in appearance, saying He is not Christ or God, and they stubbornly refuse to accept Almighty God’s work of the last days. Are these people not revealed and eliminated? (They are.) The truth reveals all. This is absolutely true.
Are you clear on which problems can be resolved in pursuing the truth? The first problem that is resolved is that of corrupt dispositions. You become able to cast off your corrupt dispositions and live by the truth. The second problem that is resolved is that of being unable to be honest. You become able to cast off your crooked and deceitful dispositions and stop telling lies or engaging in deception. The third problem that is resolved is that of all issues related to not doing your duty in a way that is up to standard. You stop being perfunctory in your duties, and you become able to adhere to truth principles and do your duty in a way that is up to standard. The fourth problem that is resolved is that of people lacking discernment. You become able to discern all kinds of people, such as antichrists, evil people, disbelievers, and others that are of Satan’s ilk, so you won’t be misled or controlled by Satan. The fifth problem that is resolved is that of being unable to submit to God or follow His will. You become able to submit to God and follow His will no matter the situation, and you become able to bear testimony for God. Pursuing the truth can resolve these major problems. Being unable to be honest, unable to submit to God, and unable to follow God’s will are all major problems. And if your corrupt dispositions are not resolved, saying that you are willing to follow God’s will and submit to God is nothing but empty words, lies, and deception. I once met an old Christian who said that he had believed in the Lord for many years, suffered much, and paid a great price, and that he loved the Lord most and knew the Lord best. However, when I testified to him that Almighty God is the returned Lord, he did not accept it, and he did not accept the truth at all. Tell me, for someone like this who does not accept the truth to say that he loves the Lord most—is this not a case of not knowing oneself? Do religious people who do not know themselves not do the most foolish things? (They do.) Why is it that people do foolish things? It is because they do not have the truth. Those without the truth are foolish, ignorant, and stupid. Is this not so? (It is.) This is absolutely true. Tell me, are intellectuals and scientists smart? (No, they are stupid.) They are definitely not smart. They do not understand any truth. They only understand a little about science, which is of little use. Tell me, can people come to know themselves through knowledge? Can it resolve their corrupt dispositions? (No, knowledge only makes people more arrogant.) Can people practice the truth through knowledge? Can they accept God’s commission in this way? (No.) Can people come to know God through knowledge? Can they achieve true love for God in this way? (Even less so.) None of these things can be achieved through knowledge. Paul had knowledge, he preached the gospel effectively, and he had the enlightenment and illumination of the Holy Spirit, but he himself had no life entry. How did he end up? He became the greatest and most infamous antichrist of the last two thousand years. There is this danger when intellectuals work. If they pursue the truth, the more they work, the more truth they will understand, and the more they will be able to accord with God’s intentions. But if they do not pursue the truth, they will only rely on their gifts and knowledge in their work. The more knowledge they possess, the more arrogant and self-righteous they become. The more knowledge they possess, the more they resist God. In the end, they will become antichrists and be punished like Paul. Do you believe this? (Yes.) So, will you still idolize intellectuals? (No.) Intellectuals are the most dangerous people. Why do I say this? In what way are intellectuals dangerous? Intellectuals are the most arrogant and self-righteous people of all, and they are the most prone to resisting God. This is why intellectuals are most dangerous. Is this not the case? (It is.) Then how is it that intellectuals come to resist God the most? It is because they treat knowledge as the truth, so they dare to resist the truth expressed by God. This is where intellectuals are the most arrogant and stupid. The pursuit of knowledge only ever makes people increasingly arrogant, stupid, and resistant to God. Can you see this matter clearly? (We can.) If people pursue the truth, these problems can be resolved. Do you now know which kinds of problems pursuing the truth mainly resolves? First, it resolves the problem of corrupt dispositions. Second, it resolves the problem of being unable to be honest—resolving people’s crookedness, deceitfulness, deception, and disguises, as well as their lies, empty words, and boastfulness. Third, it resolves all the problems that hinder people from doing their duty in a way that is up to standard. Fourth, it resolves the problem of people lacking discernment, allowing people to see through all kinds of people and treat them according to principles. Fifth, it resolves the problem that hinders people from submitting to God and following God’s will, allowing people to complete God’s commission and bear resounding testimony for God. These five kinds of problems can only be resolved by pursuing the truth. The pursuit of the truth can resolve all of people’s problems and enable them to follow God’s will and submit to God. Those who do not pursue the truth will accomplish nothing. They can do nothing by themselves. For example, you want to submit to God, but when things befall you that do not accord with your notions, you just cannot submit, and you may even misunderstand God and complain about God. Is there true submission in this? To want to submit to God without pursuing the truth is nothing but wishful thinking. Thus, only pursuing the truth can resolve all of people’s problems. Pursuing the truth is truly meaningful. So when God says “God wishes mankind will pursue the truth and survive,” He is telling people that survival is achieved through the pursuit of the truth. You cannot survive if you do not pursue the truth. The great catastrophes have already begun, and the disasters to come will only get bigger and bigger. No matter which disaster strikes, many people will die. When plagues strike, people will die. When famines strike, people will die. When wars break out, even more people will die, and when great earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur, even more people will die. A large volcanic eruption can cover half a country in volcanic ash, and when that time comes, people won’t even be able to get a sip of clean tap water. The disasters to come will be truly great. If people do not pursue the truth, they will be in big trouble. Who knows which disaster might take their life one day. Therefore, there is only one way for people to survive, and that is to pursue the truth.
People understand why they must pursue the truth now, but how exactly should they do so in a way that can bring about practical results? Should we fellowship on this matter? (Yes.) As we just discussed, what is the first problem that pursuing the truth resolves? (It resolves our corrupt dispositions.) Then to resolve your corrupt dispositions, which of God’s words should you eat and drink? First, you must eat and drink the words of God that judge and chastise man, the words in which God exposes man’s corrupt dispositions and exposes man’s nature essence. After eating and drinking these words of God, you should then reflect on and know yourself. When you truly know yourself, you will become much more compliant, much more well-behaved, and not so insolent. You will be able to do things with your feet on the ground and conduct yourself honestly. Is this not the case? (It is.) Then to what degree must you know yourself to achieve this? There are details to be explained in this. First, you must realize that you have corrupt dispositions. Realizing that you have corrupt dispositions is the shallowest degree of knowing yourself. This is not enough to cast off corrupt dispositions or practice the truth. You must know yourself more deeply, understanding which corrupt disposition is most serious in you, and which corrupt disposition basically dominates your life and controls everything about you. You must know these things thoroughly to achieve results. Some people say, “My arrogant disposition is just too severe. Because I have some knowledge and gifts, I submit to no one. My arrogance knows no bounds.” Then how can a person know their arrogant disposition more deeply? You must reflect on the consequences that are brought about when you rely on your arrogant disposition in your duty and interactions with others. If you have an arrogant disposition, can you cooperate with others? Who can you get along with? If you cannot get along with anyone, then is your relationship with God normal? (No.) Is this not a problem? (It is.) If a person is arrogant to the point of losing their conscience and reason and is no longer restrained by rationality, is this not boundless arrogance? (It is.) Then what can someone whose arrogance knows no bounds say? What consequences can this arrogance bring? Such people are capable of saying anything that lacks reason. They cannot get along with anyone peacefully or treat them equally. They constantly want to be above others, to lecture people, suppress people, constrain people, and control people, treating them like slaves. Does such a person have normal humanity? (No.) If they cannot get along with people, can they submit to God? (No.) Some people say, “I can submit to the God in heaven.” Is that true submission to God? You can submit to the God in heaven because you know the God in heaven is almighty and can destroy man with a single word, so you dare not disobey, but can you submit to the incarnate God? If you were to come into contact with the incarnate God, it would not take three days before you would despise God. Within five days you would be lecturing God, and in ten you would be trying to make God listen to you. Is this not the devil Satan revealing its true colors? Would you not do these things? It’s hard to say. It is impossible for someone whose arrogance knows no bounds to want to get along with God. You are too arrogant and you have gone beyond the scope of reason, and so you are capable of doing anything. Tell me, is such an arrogant disposition easy to resolve? How many truths must one understand to resolve it? How many truths must one understand to achieve submission to God? For man to submit to God is the hardest thing, and the difficulty lies mainly in man’s overwhelming arrogance and self-righteousness. If people can resolve their arrogance and self-righteousness, there will pretty much be no hindrance to their submission to God. Is this not so? (It is.) What is the first result achieved by resolving an arrogant disposition? It is being able to get along with others. Going a bit deeper, the second result is being able to endure humiliation and unfair treatment from others, without being unreasonable or resisting. This achieves basic submission to God. Before, you were arrogant beyond compare and submitted to no one, and you forced everyone to listen to you. Now, if others judge or bully you, you can endure it and be tolerant, and no matter how wronged you feel, you do not resist. Is this easy to achieve? (No.) For people to humble themselves to this extent, how many years of judgment must they experience, and to what degree must they know themselves? Is it enough just to acknowledge that one has corrupt dispositions? (No.) You must also experience God’s discipline. It will not do without God’s discipline. After you have been chastened and disciplined by God, you will have some knowledge of God, and you will say, “God is truly almighty. God’s righteous disposition brooks no offense. I revealed an arrogant disposition, and my words and actions were completely devoid of reason, so it was right for God’s discipline to come upon me. If I do not repent, it will be all too easy for God to reveal me and make me fail and fall. For God, this is just a matter of a single thought.” With this knowledge, you will have some fear of God, and the next time you reveal a corrupt disposition, you will consciously rebel against it. Therefore, resolving corrupt dispositions requires a person to experience the judgment and chastisement of God’s words. This is the most basic thing. When you come to know yourself by experiencing the judgment of God’s words, you should quickly pray to God, “Oh God, today I read Your words and recognized my corruption. Thank You for Your grace and blessing.” The next day, you read another passage of God’s words and recognize a certain aspect of your corrupt disposition, and you continue to pray to God, “Oh God, today I recognized my corruption again, but I still do not know the essence of my corruption. I have not yet seen through to my nature essence. Please continue to enlighten and illuminate me.” This is how you should experience God’s work. Every time you gain some knowledge of your corrupt disposition, you make progress. Perhaps this progress is not obvious to you, and sometimes you still reveal arrogance and feel that you are better than others, and it may seem to you as if you haven’t changed much. But you must persist in prayer, “Oh God, today I revealed arrogance again in my interactions with others. The words I spoke lacked reason, and were of no benefit to others. This does not glorify You. It seems that knowing my arrogance only from Your words is not enough, and I need Your discipline to come upon me. Oh God, please discipline me.” This is how you should experience God’s work. In one respect, by eating and drinking God’s words, you come to understand God’s words and gain knowledge of yourself. In another respect, God will arrange situations to reveal your corruption, exposing your nature essence for you to see, so that you will have more knowledge of yourself, and your knowledge will be deeper. Therefore, when being chastened, disciplined, tried, and refined, you should quickly pray to God, “Oh God, my previous knowledge of myself was very superficial. This trial has revealed me. I realized that I am arrogant and lacking in reason. When things befall me, I still complain to You. I do not truly submit to You. I am utterly filthy and corrupt. Oh God, I thank You. This trial that has befallen me is Your grace upon me, and it allows me to know myself better. But I feel that my knowledge of myself is not deep enough, and that it is not thorough. Please continue to guide me, continue to arrange situations to reveal me, and allow me to experience more profound judgment and chastisement, as well as trials and refinement, so that I may know myself more deeply.” If you can pray like this often, God will fulfill your prayer. God will let things befall you according to your stature, using them to reveal you and judge you, so that you may know yourself more deeply. If you experience God’s work in this way, when your corrupt dispositions have been exposed sufficiently and you have come to know yourself sufficiently, you will feel, “I am so very corrupt! I used to think I was better than ordinary people, but now I see that my corruption is truly deep and that I am filled with satanic dispositions. How can I have so many satanic dispositions? Am I not a living Satan? Am I not a devil?” When you can know yourself in this way, then when you cooperate with others, you will feel that everyone is better than you, and you will see that everyone has strengths and things worth emulating. By this point, will you not be able to get along with others? (Yes.) Will you still try to argue your point before God? Will you still have notions? (No.) In this way, will your corrupt dispositions not have been cleansed? Therefore, starting by knowing your own corrupt dispositions to experience God’s work is the fastest way for your life to grow.
