How to Pursue and Gain the Truth (12)
Fellowship From the Brother Above – November 3, 2025 (Part Six)
Question 7: We’ve recently met some potential gospel recipients who understand the content we share before we testify to them about Almighty God, but after we testify to them about Almighty God, they stop coming to sermons, they don’t reply to messages, and they don’t pick up our calls. What should we say to these kinds of people to get them to come to sermons?
Answer: To resolve the problem that such people have, you have to say a few critical words before testifying to Almighty God. You can say, “We have read quite a lot today. Tell me, where do these words come from? Do they come from God? Do they come from the Spirit of the Lord Jesus? Do they come from the Spirit of truth? If the One expressing these words is the Spirit of truth, and not the flesh of the Lord Jesus, would you leave? If you really would, then you would be making a huge mistake. What mistake would you be making? If the Spirit of truth has come and you still care about the flesh He clothes Himself in, this is a huge mistake. As long as these words are expressed by the Spirit of truth, you should accept them immediately. If you don’t, and you refuse, what will the consequences be? You will be refusing the Spirit of truth and the opportunity to attain salvation.” How about giving them a lead-in like this first? (This is a good approach.) After this lead-in, you can then testify to them that these words are all expressed by Almighty God. Upon hearing “Almighty God,” they might not be able to accept what you are saying right away, saying, “Then I won’t believe in these words!” But then they will ponder, “These words are expressed by the Spirit of truth. If I don’t believe in them, I would be betraying God and unable to welcome the Lord. I’d end up being condemned and eliminated by the Lord. That would be disastrous!” You see, this lead-in you gave is powerful. It takes effect in their heart. When they hear you testify to Almighty God, they will remember what you said. Then will they still dare to refuse Almighty God? Those who truly love the truth will not. If their heart fears God in the slightest, they won’t dare refuse Almighty God, unless they are a disbeliever, a devil. Is this not correct? (It is.) So how should you give this lead-in? What should you say? You must first say, “If these words are expressed by the Spirit of truth, but you always have notions about this incarnate God and refuse to accept Him, what consequences will this bring about?” Then you should bring out the words the Lord Jesus spoke to Thomas: “Because you have seen Me, you have believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” Fellowship on this with them. Is this a good way to fellowship? (Yes.) Of those who followed the Lord Jesus in the beginning, not a single one was able to recognize that the Lord Jesus was the incarnate God. Not a single one. Although Peter said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16), this was from the revelation of the Holy Spirit, not something he recognized himself. Peter had been following the Lord even before he received this revelation. Tell me, since he didn’t know the Lord Jesus was the incarnate God, why did he keep following Him? He did so to gain the truth. Likewise, many of those who followed the Lord at that time did not know that the Lord Jesus was the incarnate God either. They simply determined that the Lord Jesus was the greatest of prophets and chose to follow Him. It can be said that they were all interested in the truth, or they were able to recognize that the Lord Jesus was from God when they saw that the Lord Jesus had authority and power. Therefore, although they were not certain that the Lord Jesus was God, they all followed Him. They thought, “The words spoken by the Lord Jesus have authority and power, so we should believe in Him and follow Him.” Even if they still had some uncertainty in their hearts about the identity of the Lord Jesus, and even if Judaism said that the Lord Jesus was a man and not God, they still followed Him. You see, the fact that these people followed the Lord Jesus shows that they had some faith in Him. Is this not true? (It is.) But when the Lord Jesus was nailed to the cross, everyone was revealed. True believers and false believers alike were all revealed. Let’s talk about those following Almighty God today. Tell me, do these people all know God? Of course not. Although some people do not know God or pursue the truth, one thing is certain: They are certain that this is the true way. So even if the church sends them to a B group or clears them out or expels them, they still believe in God and keep on doing their duty, and they won’t return to the religious world. Some even say, “The church has expelled me, but God hasn’t. I’ll keep on reading God’s words!” What is going on here? Are they one hundred percent certain that Almighty God is God? Although they aren’t one hundred percent certain, they are at least ninety percent certain, thinking to themselves, “This is indeed the true way. Even if I am expelled, I must still believe, and I must still follow Almighty God!” This is the attitude that many Chinese people who have been cleared out or expelled have. Also, there are some people who, no matter how I prune them, or how harshly I speak to them, will not leave. What are they thinking? “You can prune me however you like, just as long as you don’t expel me.” To be precise, although these people do not love the truth, they have been conquered by God’s words and by the truth. Is this not so? (It is.) If people are conquered by God’s words, this result can be achieved: No matter how they are treated or pruned, they will not withdraw. This can be seen in God’s chosen people in China, but not necessarily in other countries yet. If I were to really prune this latter group the way I prune the Chinese, some might have notions, and some might stop believing. Then would such people count as having been conquered by God’s words? (No.) Some people say this when I prune them: “I believe in God, not man!” What kind of attitude is this? It is true that you believe in God, but you must know from whom my pruning of you comes. Does it come from man or from God? (From God.) But this person simply cannot recognize this. They think, “I believe in God, not man!” What they mean by this is, “I believe in God, not you, so I don’t have to accept your pruning.” In their heart, they are resisting being pruned. Is it not utterly absurd and foolish of them to say this? They don’t know God’s work or submit in the slightest. Has such a person been conquered by God’s words? (No.) If a person has truly been conquered by God’s words, then no matter whether God’s work accords with their notions or not, they will not resist, and they will be able to be accepting and submissive.
Question 8: The opening remarks we make when testifying are very important, and they directly affect whether potential gospel recipients will continue to come to sermons. Although we emphasize the importance of welcoming the Lord’s return and the consequences of failing to welcome the Lord in our opening remarks, our approach is rather one-dimensional, and our words fail to get to the crux of the matter. We would like to seek your advice on this matter. What should we say in our opening remarks to get to the key points? Could you also tell us about some good ways to open our sermons?
Answer: What is a good way to open your sermons when testifying? “You have all seen the current state of the world. Is it not true that the disasters are getting bigger and bigger? Though disasters are getting bigger and bigger, people still haven’t welcomed the Lord. What does this mean?” How about opening your sermons with this? (This is a good approach.) How should we go into more detail on this topic? “If you fail to welcome the Lord, this means that your belief in God has failed. If you fail to welcome the Spirit of truth and gain all the truths He expresses, you will be eliminated.” How about putting it like that? Some people say, “Only when we welcome the Lord who descends on a cloud after the catastrophes will we have truly welcomed the Lord Jesus’ return.” But did the Lord tell people to welcome Him when He descends on a cloud after the catastrophes? He did not. What did the Lord Jesus say? “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet him” (Matthew 25:6). The Lord told people that at midnight, the bridegroom would come, and they should go out to meet him. “Midnight” refers to the darkest time in the world before the great catastrophes descend. If you can be watchful and prepare oil at this time, you will be able to welcome the bridegroom and attend the feast of the kingdom of heaven, and you will be blessed. This is the path by which to welcome the Lord. The Lord never said, “I will descend on a cloud, and you will be blessed and become worthy of entering the kingdom of heaven when you see Me descend on a cloud.” The Lord Jesus never said that. Furthermore, if the Lord were to return in the last days by descending on a cloud, would people still need to be watchful and prepare oil? If the Lord did this, everyone would see Him, so there would be no need to be watchful or prepare oil. Why did the Lord Jesus tell people to be watchful and prepare oil? It is because the Lord first descends in secret before the catastrophes to work, but people do not know the Lord and have too many notions and imaginings about welcoming the Lord. People are very liable to miss the opportunity to welcome the Lord, to miss this golden opportunity, and so the Lord told people to be watchful and prepare oil. This is the Lord Jesus’ reminder to people, and without it people would not be able to welcome the Lord. So what are the consequences of people not being able to welcome the Lord? If people fail to welcome the Lord before or during the catastrophes, they will fall into darkness and weep and gnash their teeth. The most important prophecy the Lord Jesus spoke to His disciples was “When He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13). This verse means that the Spirit of truth will come and guide people into all truth during the world’s darkest hour. If you have welcomed this God who expresses the truth, you are blessed. The Almighty God we have welcomed today is the Spirit of truth who has come. He has expressed all the truths required for man to attain salvation. All those who can welcome Almighty God and enter into all these truths are the most blessed, and they have a share in the kingdom of heaven. If you fail to welcome Almighty God who expresses the truth, and you just wait to welcome the Lord Jesus who publicly descends on a cloud, then when the Lord publicly descends on a cloud, you will be punished. Look at what the Lord Jesus said to Thomas: “Because you have seen Me, you have believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed” (John 20:29). Was this not God’s judgment of Thomas? Was this not a condemnation of Thomas? (It was.) This was God judging and condemning Thomas. If you fellowship these words clearly to potential gospel recipients, those with heart and spirit will take these words to heart and investigate the true way seriously. Is this a good way to open sermons? (It is.) This is one way of opening sermons.
There is another way to open sermons. “Tell me, was God’s work to save mankind completed with the work of redemption done in the Age of Grace? Was the work of the Age of Grace the final stage of God’s work to save mankind? Is there another stage of salvation work in the last days? The Lord Jesus prophesied: ‘When He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth’ (John 16:13). From this prophecy of the Lord, we can determine that the Lord’s return in the last days is to do a stage of salvation work. God will express the truth and lead people into all truth. So when does God do this work? Is it when He publicly descends on a cloud? (No.) If we wait until the Lord publicly descends on a cloud, the great catastrophes will be over, and the outcome of each type of person will have been revealed. Would the Lord still need to do the work of saving people at this point? By that time, God’s salvation work will have long since ended. In the last days, God first becomes flesh to work in secret to save people, and then after the catastrophes, He will publicly descend on a cloud to appear to people and condemn and punish all those who resist Him. Although the great catastrophes have begun already, the devastating catastrophes that will destroy mankind have not yet descended, but they are not far off. Once the devastating catastrophes that will destroy mankind descend, God will immediately change form and leave the earth. At that time, the gate of grace will close, and the work of saving people will be completely finished. So if you wait until the Lord publicly descends on a cloud to welcome Him, it will be too late. That will be the day you are condemned by God, the day of your perdition and destruction.” After you say this, read the potential gospel recipients some of God’s words relating to this. If they have spiritual understanding, they will then realize, “So these are the steps of God’s work in the last days. Now I see. God becoming flesh and descending in secret is a different matter from His publicly descending on a cloud. In the last days, the Lord first descends in secret to do a stage of salvation work, and after the catastrophes, He will descend on a cloud to appear to people publicly. If people just wait to welcome the Lord descending on a cloud, they will miss God’s salvation work, and they are sure to end up being eliminated and condemned.” If you fellowship these words clearly to them, will you not achieve results? (Yes.) I tell you, once they understand these things in their heart, no matter what aspect of the truth you fellowship with them, they will be able to take it to heart and listen with earnestness. They will feel that the words you fellowship are crucial and in relation to their life and death, and that if they don’t listen to or accept this fellowship, there is no saving them. So how about using this as an opening? (This is a good approach.) You should mainly discuss the difference between the two methods: God descending in secret and God publicly descending on a cloud. Why must people accept the Lord’s secret descent and not sit and wait for the Lord to descend on a cloud? Because accepting the Lord’s secret descent is symbolic of a person being blessed, while not accepting the Lord’s secret descent and sitting and waiting for the Lord to descend on a cloud is symbolic of a person being set for woe. If you have welcomed the Son of man who expresses the truth, you are most blessed. You have followed an ordinary Son of man with normal humanity; you are able to believe in Him, follow Him, and even follow Him to the very end simply because He expresses the truth. This is what it means to have faith. Such people are wise virgins, and they are truly blessed! Can people follow to the end without faith? Many people hear that God has incarnated and that He has taken on a female image, or they hear nonbelievers and religious people condemning Almighty God as an ordinary person, and so they refuse to investigate the true way. No matter how you fellowship, they simply won’t listen. In what way do such people have faith? In what way do they love the truth? These are the most foolish people, the most foolish virgins.
Question 9: When preaching the gospel, we talk about how God does not repeat His work, and about how false christs can only imitate the work God has done by performing some signs and wonders. Some potential gospel recipients then ask, “Pastors and elders can also heal the sick and cast out demons. When they pray for sick people, they recover. Is this done by evil spirits?” How can we answer such a question with wisdom so that potential gospel recipients do not become confused?
Answer: God does not repeat His work, and in the last days, God does not come to repeat His work either. This repeated work includes the work of crucifixion done by the Lord Jesus, as well as the work of performing signs and wonders, healing the sick, and casting out demons. God already did these works in the Age of Grace, and so when He comes in the last days, He will not do them again. So what work does God come to do in the last days? It is to express the truth, guide people into all truth, and perfect a group of people who are of one heart and mind with God. This is the work God does in the last days. What God does in the last days is the most meaningful work, the work of thoroughly saving mankind. These potential gospel recipients you speak of asked, “Pastors and elders can heal the sick and cast out demons, so is this done by evil spirits?” To be precise, yes, this is done by evil spirits. This is because in the last days, the Holy Spirit no longer does this work, and only evil spirits will imitate the work God has done already. However, there are cases where some believers, when they fall ill, pray to God to seek His intentions. They understand that this is God trying and refining them, come to know God’s work somewhat, submit to God in their illness without complaining, and finally their illness is healed. If they have this experiential testimony, then their being healed is the work of the Holy Spirit. But when pastors heal the sick and cast out demons, this is done by evil spirits, because the Holy Spirit has long since stopped doing this work. God does not repeat His work, for repeated work is of no meaning. However, there is no need for you to fellowship on this matter in detail with them. There is no meaning in going into this matter in depth. Just ask them, “Though a pastor may heal a person’s sickness and cast out their demons, can that person’s corrupt dispositions be cleansed? Can they attain salvation?” (No.) Their satanic disposition has not been removed, and they have not broken free from Satan’s influence, so they cannot attain salvation. In the last days, God wants to thoroughly cleanse and save people, so God will not do the work of performing signs and wonders, healing the sick, or casting out demons again. Doing such works again is of no meaning, and God does not do work that is of no meaning or value. In reality, God can heal the sick and cast out demons with a single thought. This is nothing to Him. But resolving people’s corrupt dispositions is truly difficult. Not only must God express many truths to work and save people, but people also need to be able to accept the truth and God’s work, and then they must experience many trials and refinements before they can cast off their corrupt dispositions. This takes a long period of experiencing things. In God’s eyes, it’s easier to raise the dead than it is to cleanse people’s corrupt dispositions. When the Lord Jesus raised Lazarus, He just simply said: “Lazarus, come forth” (John 11:43) and Lazarus then came forth from his tomb. He resolved the matter of death with a single sentence. But can a person’s corrupt dispositions be resolved with just one sentence? (No.) This requires God to speak many words, and people must also experience judgment, chastisement, trials, and refinement for a long time. It can be said that resolving people’s corrupt dispositions is harder than performing any sign or wonder. God expresses the truth to cleanse and perfect a group of people. This is the most difficult work since the creation of the world. This is a massive project, just like the creation of the heavens and earth and all things. Therefore, when God’s words say: “And thus does God embark upon a great enterprise,” this is in reference to the work of judgment and chastisement that God does to cleanse and save people. This work is not simple! Once this work is completed, God’s great work will be accomplished, God will be fully glorified, and Satan will be thoroughly shamed and defeated! This is because cleansing people’s corrupt dispositions is what shames Satan the most. Satan knows that it resists God and rebels against God the most. After corrupting mankind, it planted its satanic disposition within people. It believes that God cannot solve this problem. It does not believe that as long as people accept all the truths expressed by God, the corrupt dispositions within them can be cleansed. It thinks that if God resolves the satanic disposition of corrupt mankind, then it too can be saved. But God does not save Satan. God only saves corrupt mankind. God’s work to save corrupt mankind today is primarily to cleanse mankind’s corrupt dispositions. You see, many of those who have accepted Almighty God’s work of the last days have borne experiential testimonies of their corrupt dispositions being cleansed. They have been able to rebel against Satan, practice the truth, and satisfy God. This is what shames Satan the most, and at the same time, it is what best bears witness to and glorifies God. Tell me, is this work of judgment and cleansing that God does in the last days not of immense significance? (It is.) This is the greatest and most meaningful work since the creation of the world! Is this a good way to answer this question? (Yes.)
Question 10: After hearing us testify, a potential gospel recipient was able to understand what we said to him, but he still found it unbelievable that after two thousand years, God has returned now and that he just so happened to have caught up with it. As such, he’s still uncertain as to whether God has returned. How should we fellowship to help him accept the true way?
Answer: This potential gospel recipient finds it unbelievable that after two thousand years, he just so happened to have caught up with the Lord’s return. Is it wrong for him to have caught up with the Lord’s return and received God’s salvation of the last days? What a blessed thing it is for people to have the fortune to welcome the Lord’s return! All those who hunger and thirst for righteousness long to welcome the Lord. Once they welcome the Lord, they become ecstatic and rush to tell everyone! So why does this person find it unbelievable that he has caught up with the Lord’s return, and not have the courage to be certain that the Lord has returned? Does he feel that he should suffer woe and not receive blessings? Is that why he therefore feels it is not right that he can welcome the Lord’s return and receive God’s blessings? Is that what he means? Do you know what meaning is hidden in his words? (He does not believe that God has returned. His view is the same as Thomas’.) He simply does not believe that the Lord has returned in the flesh. He thinks the Lord’s return should be the appearance of a spiritual body. If he were to see the Lord’s spiritual body return, he would believe. So those words of his are just an excuse. He is a disbeliever. He does not know that the truth comes from God or that Almighty God expressing so many truths is sufficient proof that He is the incarnate God. He does not acknowledge this fact. Even if this person accepted the true way now, he wouldn’t be able to believe for long, because he doesn’t accept the truth.
