How to Pursue and Gain the Truth (8)

Fellowship From the Brother Above – August 15, 2025 (Part Two)

Now, when I preach to you, I center my sermons on the topic of “How to Pursue and Gain the Truth.” In every gathering, I fellowship on one or two aspects of the truth related to this topic. Is this an appropriate way for me to fellowship? (Yes.) This topic is so important for people’s pursuit of the truth, is it not? (It is.) You see that when I usually hold gatherings and fellowship with you, it’s generally in a conversational way. This is different from the way religious pastors preach, isn’t it? (It is.) Which way of preaching do you prefer? (The conversational way.) That’s right, you all prefer the conversational way. When I fellowship in a conversational way, I sometimes will ask you questions. Will you actively answer what I ask of you? (We will.) Don’t worry about this, thinking, “Will this disrupt the order of the sermon? Will it make it hard for people to be clear on the content of the sermon?” It won’t. The atmosphere of our gatherings should be a bit more lively, and there should be some dialogue. It’s great for everyone to chime in. I like this conversational style of preaching and fellowship. I don’t like to give long monologues. Fellowshipping like that is dry, dull, and uninteresting. Tell me, what’s good about me preaching in this conversational way? (The atmosphere of the gathering is relaxed and lively, and through this conversational, back-and-forth style, you can also fellowship based on our reactions.) The main thing is that with this conversational, back-and-forth style, you’re less likely to forget what you’ve heard. Only then can these words enter your hearts and achieve real results. If it’s just one person giving a long monologue, you get tired of listening, and the words won’t enter your hearts; they’ll just go in one ear and out the other, and in the end, you won’t remember a single sentence they’ve said. Is this not the case? (It is.) And the person preaching in this way also gets tired. If we use a conversational style to preach, this problem can be avoided. Therefore, it’s better to preach in a conversational, back-and-forth style. I like to chat and have conversations with you. In over three decades of working, I have always fellowshipped on the truth in this way. What do you think of the results that have come about from this? (They’re good.) So when you hold gatherings and fellowship with the brothers and sisters, do you also do so in a conversational way? (No.) Are you willing to put this conversational way into practice? (Yes.) There are quite a few who are willing. That’s great. So you should train yourselves in this aspect, learn to chat, and learn to have conversations.

We just mentioned that in the Age of Grace, although the vast majority of people suffered much hardship in expending themselves and working for the Lord, in the end, they were all eliminated because they did not pursue the truth and acted based on their corrupt dispositions. God condemned these people as workers of iniquity, and workers of iniquity are, in fact, people who resist God. Tell me, is it not true that the essence of all the evil that people do is resistance to God? (It is.) Is it not hostility toward the truth? (It is.) Therefore, workers of iniquity all resist God. They do not submit to God at all, and their belief in God and their service are a complete failure. These failed people all walk the path of Paul. Paul is the most classic example of such people. So today, what path should the leaders and workers of God’s house choose in serving God and doing their duty? Is this not a crucial matter? (It is.) This matter is truly crucial and important! So what path are you willing to walk? The path of Peter or the path of Paul? The path you walk determines your ultimate outcome and destination. If you walk the path of Paul, then the duty you do is just rendering service, and God will not approve of it. If, in the end, your service is not even up to standard, you will be eliminated. If you walk the path of Peter, although you may occasionally transgress or reveal corruption, you can reflect on and know yourself and truly repent, and in the end, you will have gained the truth and entered into reality. This will meet with God’s approval, and God will say that you pursue the truth, and that you walk the path of Peter. The path of Peter has two notable characteristics, which is to say that there are two most crucial aspects to his type of pursuit. Do you know what they are? One is reflecting on and knowing oneself, and the other is seeking to love God. You see, the Lord Jesus always asked Peter, “Do you love Me?” “Do you love Me?” Peter reflected on himself, “Lord, I have not loved You. I have only loved the Father in heaven.” Why did the Lord Jesus always ask Peter, “Do you love Me?” There is a great mystery in this. This mystery is that if you can love the practical God on earth, and come to be of one heart and mind with the God on earth, exalt God and bear witness to God in all things, and do everything to satisfy the God on earth, then you will have the truth reality, the change in your disposition will be real, and you will meet with God’s approval. If you cannot truly love the God on earth in your heart, and you cannot be considerate of His intentions, then you are still walking the old path of religious people, and just believing in a vague God in heaven based on your own imaginings, without any knowledge of, submission to, or love for the practical God on earth. In that case, if you say you understand the truth, that your disposition has changed, and that you are of one heart and mind with God, then all such claims are false and not recognized by God. Have you seen through to this matter? (Yes.) If you have believed in God for many years and still say, “I only love the God in heaven, not the God on earth, not the Christ on earth,” then what problem is this? You believe in a vague God, and you have no submission to the practical God on earth. So if you say, “I submit to the God in heaven, I love the God in heaven, and I am of one heart and mind with the God in heaven,” no matter how well or how genuinely you say this, can the God on earth approve of you? (No.) If the God on earth does not approve of you and He says, “I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity,” then you will be completely eliminated. These are all the most practical problems. In this stream, most leaders and workers have not yet experienced God’s judgment and chastisement. They only have a little knowledge of God’s words, and in their real experience, they have not yet encountered major pruning, trials, or refinement, because most of these people’s stature is insufficient, and they are not yet qualified to experience these things. Tell me, if a three- or five-year-old child makes a small mistake, will their parents discipline them severely? (No.) Why not? Because the child is too young, and if their parents were to discipline them, the child wouldn’t understand why they were being disciplined and they wouldn’t be able to bear it. So the parents see that the child is naive and do not fuss over the small mistakes they make. But if a person in their twenties or thirties still does immoral things, then their parents should discipline them severely, because they are an adult and understand how things work. God’s work on His chosen people is the same. When you first find God and don’t understand anything, God does not put any major chastening or discipline upon you. However, if, after believing in God for seven or eight years, or ten years, you still do things that violate the truth principles, then God has to discipline you. Sometimes He disciplines you through leaders and workers, and sometimes He raises up situations to discipline you, using nonbelieving people, events, and things to do so. You have all seen the movie from God’s house, Reflections on Salvation, right? (Yes.) There is a particular scene in it: The main character is very arrogant, defiant toward his coworkers, and he constantly exalts himself and shows off to try and get people to worship him. He is then chastened and disciplined. The police arrest him, torture him, and beat him until he is black and blue, and they also humiliate him. This is God using an objective situation to chasten and discipline him. Tell me, is his being disciplined in this good? (It is.) His being disciplined through this woke him up. He began to reflect on and know himself, and in the end, he said, “This beating woke me up. I was truly arrogant and self-righteous. I did not cooperate harmoniously with the brothers and sisters, and I was always jealous of and defiant toward them. I regret my actions! I deserve to be disciplined!” You see, he came to a good understanding. In coming to be able to hate himself, he should be able to change. There is also the main character in the movie Meeting the Lord During the Catastrophes. Because he gained many people by preaching the gospel, he became arrogant, and he ended up becoming so arrogant that he stopped taking the suggestions of the leaders and workers seriously. He said, “You have not actually preached the gospel, so you don’t understand how things are. Preaching the gospel is difficult, and in the course of this you will encounter all kinds of difficult people. You have to have the ability to talk the dead back to life, and you have to be able to use the truth to solve the notions and problems of all kinds of people. With your current stature, it’s fine for you to be a leader or worker and direct and check the work from home, but I’m afraid you’re not up to preaching the gospel.” What do you think of his attitude? He was arrogant beyond measure. God’s discipline then came upon him. He was almost beaten to death, and it was only because of God’s protection that he was left with breath in his body and survived. Our movies are all based on the real experiences of brothers and sisters. They are not works of fiction. In fact, his real experience was much more severe than what was depicted in the movie, but movies have time constraints, so it’s impossible to show everything. But in any case, what came upon him was God’s discipline. So tell me, is it a good thing for people to be disciplined somewhat? (It is.) Is it a blessing or a misfortune? (A blessing.) After this came upon him, the main character said, “This beating woke me up. If it weren’t for this beating, who knows how arrogant I would have become or when I would have been able to know myself. This beating was so good. It was truly worth me enduring this bit of suffering. This was a blessing!” You see, he gained understanding by being disciplined in this way. He saw that God is great and awesome, and he felt, “People must never be arrogant or do evil, otherwise, if they offend God’s disposition and God becomes angry, it will be terrible, and a great misfortune will befall them.” He realized that God’s disposition does not tolerate offense. You must remember this, for it is a timeless adage and an eternal truth. So, now that he has this understanding, would you say that he has developed a God-fearing heart? (Yes.) After this beating, he learned many lessons. Not only did he gain true knowledge of his corruption, but he also gained knowledge of God’s righteous disposition, and he also developed a God-fearing heart. He gained so much. Tell me, was this beating worth it? (It was.) Have you seen God’s love in this matter? (Yes.) Is this not God’s salvation? (It is.) Is this not a real life experience? (It is.) So how many such life experiences do you have now? If you have many such life experiences, then you possess the most precious wealth.

The truths involved in serving God are truly numerous, and these are all truths that people should understand. If people do not have a certain understanding and do not pursue the truth, it will bring about a lot of trouble. They will not be able to serve in a way that is up to standard, and in their duty, they will often violate truth principles and resist God. If people violate principles in their duty and are pruned, and if they do not pursue the truth, do not know themselves, and remain obstinately unrepentant, what will be the consequences? They will be in danger and are likely to be eliminated. People who do not pursue the truth do not have a normal relationship with God. When they do their duty, they never rely on God or seek the truth from God, and instead always guard against and distance themselves from God. How can such people do their duty well? How can they serve God well? So, after a person becomes a leader, shouldn’t their relationship with God be restored? Shouldn’t they achieve a normal or even closer relationship with God, not one of misunderstanding, guardedness, or keeping Him at a respectful distance? This is the kind of mentality they should have: “God has entrusted the work of the church to me, so I must maintain a normal relationship with God. I must constantly pray to God, constantly seek the truth and fellowship on the truth, open up to God about any problems I have, and seek God for any difficulties I encounter.” In this way, they will maintain a normal relationship with God. Some people say, “Although I believe in God and am doing my duty, I cannot see or come into contact with God. How can I gain the work of the Holy Spirit?” I tell you, if you have a normal relationship with God in your spirit, you can gain the enlightenment and illumination of the Holy Spirit. Although you cannot see God, the Holy Spirit works on you, enlightens you, illuminates you, guides you, leads you, and uses various situations to speak to you, remind you, and help you. You see, if your relationship with God is normal, what you get in return is the work of the Holy Spirit, the blessings of God. If your relationship with God is not normal, and you always guard against, doubt, and distance yourself from God, and always contend with Him, the consequence of this is that the Holy Spirit will stop working on you. The Holy Spirit will distance Himself from you and detest you. Is this not very dangerous? (It is.) This is indeed a very dangerous thing. Therefore, leaders and workers must have a normal relationship with God in their work, and they must be considerate of God’s intentions and uphold the work of God’s house. You see how I work as somebody used by God? My personality is very forthright. I was born without the ability to beat around the bush, and my speech is not elegant. I am very straightforward and I say what I think. So when I see leaders and workers running amok doing bad things, not listening no matter how the truth is fellowshipped, and even doing bad things that disrupt and disturb the work of God’s house, I get angry and harshly expose and prune them. I absolutely refuse to let such people go. I am compelled to severely prune them. Why do I not let them go? Because this is my responsibility. If I see leaders and workers running amok doing bad things and let them be, that is a dereliction of my responsibility. My conscience would reproach me, and I would feel I have let down God. Therefore, I must address such matters, and I absolutely refuse to let them go. Wherever I see a false leader or an antichrist, I am compelled to deal with them immediately and to not let them disturb the church any further. Every time I go to a church that is being disturbed by an antichrist, I have to stay there and fellowship for five or six days, or even a week, before I can leave. If I hold a gathering for one day and then leave, the brothers and sisters will not have discernment of the antichrist and will still be misled and controlled by them. I have only fulfilled my responsibility once I have fellowshipped to the point where a majority of the people in such a church can discern and reject the antichrist. So how do I fellowship to achieve such a result? I first fellowship clearly on God’s requirements for leaders and workers, and on the principles that leaders and workers should abide by in their work, so that the brothers and sisters can discern for themselves whether their leaders’ actions violate principles and whether they are contrary to God’s intentions, and what path these leaders can lead them on. Then, I expose the evil deeds of this antichrist one by one, holding these deeds of theirs up against God’s words and dissecting them, so that everyone can see through to the essence of this person as being an antichrist. In this way, the brothers and sisters can rise up to expose and reject them. After this comes time to handle this antichrist according to principles. I must also fellowship clearly on principles for this, so that people know how to handle antichrists according to principles. I also have to instruct the church to remove this antichrist from all their positions and to isolate this antichrist for self-reflection, and to warn this antichrist not to continue disrupting, disturbing, and misleading people in the church. If they do not repent, they should be expelled right away. If there are still people in the church who continue to worship and follow this antichrist, then these people should also be isolated. If they do not reflect on or know themselves, and they still follow the antichrist in doing evil, then they will be cleared out and expelled along with this antichrist. Only when I have fellowshipped clearly on all the principles for discerning and handling antichrists and properly arranged all the related work, can I leave this church. This is how I have worked for over thirty years. I have directly handled no fewer than ten or twenty antichrists, and in addition, God’s house has repeatedly arranged for the church to do cleansing work, and many false leaders and antichrists have been handled. Over these years, the churches in mainland China have been mostly cleansed. Those who do not accept the truth at all, like Paul, have all been cleared out and expelled, while those who truly love the truth and can truly repent of their transgressions have been allowed to remain. Later, when the CCP learned that our church was doing cleansing work, they judged us, saying, “The Church of Almighty God is doing cleansing work to show off their power.” This is a distortion of facts. The cleansing of the church by God’s house is based on the stages of God’s work, which has now reached the stage of revealing and eliminating people, so the church must cleanse people away. The ultimate result that God’s work of judgment is to achieve is that each is sorted according to their kind. Those who have gained the truth and achieved salvation and perfection are the overcomers, and these people have a share in the kingdom. Those who do not accept the truth at all during God’s work, who run amok doing bad things and disrupt and disturb the work of God’s house in pursuit of fame, gain, and status, are all characterized as false leaders, antichrists, or evil people, and they are eliminated. Some are cleared out and some are expelled. Of course, The Church of Almighty God has principles for cleansing people away. No matter who is cleared out or expelled, such a decision must be approved by a vote of more than eighty percent of God’s chosen people in that church. If only leaders and workers or a few of God’s chosen people think someone should be cleared out and they are then cleared out, this violates principles. Over the recent years, God’s house has been doing cleansing work in this way, and slowly, everyone will come to be sorted according to their kind, and God’s work will come to be concluded with the attainment of glory. But as of now, churches around the world remain unable to do cleansing work, unless a clear case of an evil person who can be cleansed away arises. This is because many people in various countries have not yet established a foundation, and they do not have discernment of antichrists and false leaders, and so it is too early to do the work of cleansing the church in these places. When the stature of God’s chosen people in various countries has grown and they have discernment, then the churches in various countries can also do cleansing work, and at that time, the people in the churches of various countries will also have been sorted according to their kind. The work of God’s house, in the end, is to achieve the result of each being sorted according to their kind. So what does “each being sorted according to their kind” mean? It means that all people are clearly classified: Those who pursue the truth and sincerely expend themselves for God are one kind of people, while those who do not pursue the truth and only labor are another. These people are the same as those in the Age of Grace who wanted to exchange the suffering they had gone through and the price they had paid for the blessings of the kingdom of heaven. They never accept the truth, and not only do their views on things not change, but they don’t even give up their wrong intentions and aims in believing in God. These people are laborers. There is another kind of person who is a believer in name only and does not do any duty at all. These people are not new believers, and while they may be able to speak words and doctrines eloquently, they do not do any duty at all, and are satisfied with just enjoying the flesh and living a good life. Therefore, these people are disbelievers and targets for elimination. Then there are various kinds of people with the work of evil spirits. One day they receive this revelation, the next they receive that one, and they often say they have seen angels or devils. These are the kind of people with the work of evil spirits. They disrupt and disturb church life and are also to be eliminated. There is another kind of people who are simpletons. Their caliber is too poor to grasp the truth. Their belief in God is just to eat their fill of loaves, and they cannot be said to have humanity, conscience, or reason. Such people are simpletons, muddleheaded, and also to be eliminated. When these kinds of people are completely revealed, then each will have been sorted according to their kind, and at that time, God’s work will be over. You see, this is how the work of God in the Age of Kingdom is, with a beginning and an end. But the work of the Age of Grace had a beginning but no end. For two thousand years, it did not end, and only when the great catastrophes came down did it end. This ending was revealed to people through the Lord Jesus showing a vision to a so-called watchman of the Age of Grace, like the picture Brandon saw: The Lord Jesus was shepherding a flock of sheep, and when the sun set, these sheep fell into darkness. This was to tell the religious people that the work of the Age of Grace had come to a close, that it had ended, and that they had already entered the great catastrophes. To enter the great catastrophes is to wait for death. But you are not dead yet, and just so long as you accept the work of Almighty God, you still have a chance to be saved. Therefore, if those who believe in the Lord in the Age of Grace can accept Almighty God, they still have a way to live. If they do not accept the work of Almighty God, they will find themselves at a dead end, and they can only perish in the catastrophes. Some people say, “It is prophesied in the Book of Revelation: ‘Behold, He comes with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him(Revelation 1:7). Aren’t ‘they which pierced Him’ people who resist God? Why can these people also see the Lord’s public appearance?” These words are representative. Why does God let those who pierced Him also see Him? It is to let these people know their sins, to let them know that “You resisted the true God, you resisted the incarnate God, the Creator,” and to let them see this fact before they die, so that they die with understanding. Is that not what it means? Therefore, “and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him” is not a sign of blessing, but a sign of punishment. Furthermore, not all religious people will be able to see the day when the Lord descends on a cloud. Only a few individuals will be able to do so, and most will still die in the disasters. So are there cases of pastors and elders in the religious world dying now? There are many such cases! The Age of Grace has long since ended. If they do not accept the work of Almighty God, they can only wail and gnash their teeth in the disasters. So, at this time, if people can welcome Almighty God, they will be blessed. If they cannot or do not welcome Him, they will surely die. This is the consequence.
