836 What Those Who Have Been Perfected Possess

Verse 1

People who have been made perfect

don’t just possess normal humanity;

they hold truths higher than conscience,

they exceed the standards of conscience.

They not only use their conscience

to be sure they repay the love of God;

they’ve known God and seen He’s lovely,

and that He’s so worthy of man’s love.

Pre-chorus

Men who’ve been made perfect,

they know there is much to love in God,

and because of this,

they cannot help but love Him.

Chorus

Those who’ve been made perfect

love God because they yearn to.

It’s a spontaneous love;

they expect nothing in return.

Their love is not part of a deal,

nor a transaction to be made.

Their love of God purely comes

from the knowledge of Him

that they have gained.

Verse 2

These people don’t care for God’s grace,

they only wish to satisfy God.

They don’t love God so they can strike deals,

or weigh their love of Him by their conscience:

“You have given to me,

and thus I love you in return;

if you don’t give to me,

then I have nothing in return.”

Pre-chorus

Men who’ve been made perfect,

they know there is much to love in God,

and because of this,

they cannot help but love Him.

Chorus

Those who’ve been made perfect

love God because they yearn to.

It’s a spontaneous love;

they expect nothing in return.

Their love is not part of a deal,

nor a transaction to be made.

Their love of God purely comes

from the knowledge of Him

that they have gained.

Bridge

When people have been made perfect they believe:

“God is Creator, He carries out His work on us.

Since I have this chance, this condition,

this qualification to be made perfect,

my quest should be to

live a life of meaning and satisfy Him.”

Chorus

Those who’ve been made perfect

love God because they yearn to.

It’s a spontaneous love;

they expect nothing in return.

Their love is not part of a deal,

nor a transaction to be made.

Their love of God purely comes

from the knowledge of Him

that they have gained.
