387 What the Work of Conquest Will Achieve

Verse 1

When Adam and Eve were made in the beginning,

Jehovah’s glory and testimony were with them.

But man lost the glory and testimony after being corrupted.

Everyone disobeys God, not revering Him.

Why did man lose the testimony?

Because no one has faith, or God in their heart.

Conquering mankind means restoring man’s faith.

Chorus

Conquering work is to stop man from rebelling

and help him gain a new understanding of God,

obeying and resolving to be for God.

Verse 2

People want too many worldly things,

hoping too much for the future,

and holding extravagant demands,

thinking and planning only for the flesh.

Not interested in believing in God,

their hearts have been captured by Satan.

Their reverence for God is gone;

they are devoting their heart to Satan.

But man was created by God.

He’s lost the testimony and glory.

By conquering man God seizes back

the glory of man’s reverence.

Chorus

Conquering work is to stop man from rebelling

and help him gain a new understanding of God,

obeying and resolving to be for God.

Bridge

Man’s changes in temperament or flesh

don’t show if he’s conquered,

but mental changes in his thoughts and sense

show he’s been conquered.

When you obey with new thinking,

without your notions of God’s work and words,

when you can think normally,

and exert yourself with all your heart for God,

this kind of person is someone fully conquered.

Chorus

Conquering work is to stop man from rebelling

and help him gain a new understanding of God,

obeying and resolving to be for God,

obeying and resolving to be for God.
