292 Who Can Care for God’s Will?

Verse 1

Man experienced My warmth,

they once sincerely served Me,

they were truly obedient,

doing everything for Me.

But people can’t do that now;

in their spirit they all cry.

They look at Me, call for help;

they cannot escape their plight.

Verse 2

People in the past made vows,

swearing by earth and heaven

to repay Me My kindness

with all their heart’s affections.

They wept with sorrow to Me;

their cries were sad, hard to bear.

I would give mankind My help

due to the resolve of theirs.

Chorus

When people are sad, I come to comfort them;

and when they are weak, I help them along.

When they are lost, I give them the way;

and when they weep, I wipe away their tears.

But when I am sad, who can comfort Me?

When I’m worried sick, who cares for what I feel?

Verse 3

Countless times man obeyed Me,

their loveliness so memorable.

They were loyal in love for Me,

their true feelings were laudable.

Countless times they loved Me

and their lives they would sacrifice.

Because of this earnestness,

their love gained My acceptance.

Verse 4

Countless times, they offered themselves,

calmly facing death for My sake.

Smoothing the worry from their brows,

I carefully watched their face.

Countless times I loved them,

as though My treasure they were.

Countless times I hated them,

as if they were enemies.

Still man can’t fathom

what is in My mind.

Chorus

When people are sad, I come to comfort them;

and when they are weak, I help them along.

When they are lost, I give them the way;

and when they weep, I wipe away their tears.

But when I am sad, who can comfort Me?

When I’m worried sick, who cares for what I feel?

Bridge

When I’m sorrowful,

who makes up for My heart’s wounds?

Who acts in concert with Me

in times when I need someone?

Is man’s former attitude

towards Me now lost, never to return?

Why is there not a single jot

left in their memories?

People have forgotten these things

from being corrupted by enemies.

Chorus

When people are sad, I come to comfort them;

and when they are weak, I help them along.

When they are lost, I give them the way;

and when they weep, I wipe away their tears.

But when I am sad, who can comfort Me?

When I’m worried sick, who cares for what I feel?
