345 Why Are You So Haughty?

Verse 1

Don’t think you know everything;

all that you have seen

is not yet a fraction of God’s management plan.

Why act haughty,

with such little knowledge and talent?

They’re not enough for Jesus to use for a second.

Chorus

All you’ve seen, heard and imagined in a lifetime

are less than God does in a moment!

You’d better not nitpick in arrogance,

for you’re not even equal to an ant!

Verse 2

All you hold in your belly is less than ants can hold.

Don’t think because of title and experience

you can talk big now.

Aren’t your status and experience

because of God’s own words?

Have you earned them through labors of your own?

Pre-chorus

Today God’s become flesh,

thus you have endless concepts.

There is no end to your notions.

Without God’s incarnation,

you wouldn’t have these concepts.

Isn’t it from these that your notions arise?

Chorus

All you’ve seen, heard and imagined in a lifetime

are less than God does in a moment!

You’d better not nitpick in arrogance,

for you’re not even equal to an ant!

Bridge

If Jesus hadn’t become flesh,

would you know the incarnation?

The first gave you knowledge,

and now you try to judge the second?

Why do you scrutinize rather than follow?

Coming before God incarnate,

would He let you research Him?

Verse 3

You can study your family history,

but if you look at “God’s,”

would the God of today let you do this?

Haven’t you become blind,

and brought contempt upon yourself?

Chorus

All you’ve seen, heard and imagined in a lifetime

are less than God does in a moment!

You’d better not nitpick in arrogance,

for you’re not even equal to an ant!

All you’ve seen, heard and imagined in a lifetime

are less than God does in a moment!

You’d better not nitpick in arrogance,

for you’re not even equal to an ant!
