962 God’s Righteous Disposition Brooks No Offense

Verse 1

God’s righteous disposition

is the righteous punishment of all evildoers.

All who do not walk in God’s way

will surely get punishment

even if they follow to the end.

This is the righteousness of God.

Pre-chorus 1

Righteous disposition does not mean

that those who can confess their sins

are dealt with leniently.

Chorus

Righteousness is holiness,

a disposition that won’t abide

any offenses by mankind.

All that’s filthy and unchanged

only merits God’s contempt.

Verse 2

God’s righteous disposition

is not meant to be the law,

but rather kingdom’s decree,

a decree of righteous punishment

for all who don’t have the truth

and those who have failed to change,

and there’s no chance of being saved.

Verse 3

When mankind is sorted out

according to each person’s kind,

the good will be rewarded,

the evildoers will receive

their rightful punishment.

Man’s destination will be clear.

Salvation will then be complete.

Pre-chorus 2

The work of saving man will end.

The retribution will be brought

on all who commit evil.

Chorus

Righteousness is holiness,

a disposition that won’t abide

any offenses by mankind.

All that’s filthy and unchanged

only merits God’s contempt.
