557 Do You Know Your Own Nature?
Verse 1
If you’re someone who speaks in a tortuous way,
then you have a tortuous nature.
If your nature’s cunning, you’re sly in all you do,
and you can easily trick others.
Chorus
Anyone can use their own words and actions
to truly represent their true countenance,
and that countenance is a show of one’s true nature.
Verse 2
With a sinister nature, your words may sound pleasant,
but your deeds won’t hide your sinister tricks.
If your nature’s lazy, you are full of excuses,
slow and careless, skilled in hiding the truth.
Chorus
Anyone can use their own words and actions
to truly represent their true countenance,
and that countenance is a show of one’s true nature.
Bridge
If your nature’s empathetic,
then your words will be reasonable,
your actions will conform well with the truth.
Further, if your nature is loyal,
your words will certainly be sincere,
your actions will be well grounded,
totally free of anything
that might make your master uneasy.
Verse 3
With a lustful nature or one greedy for money,
your heart will often be filled by these.
You’ll unwittingly commit deviant, immoral acts
that disgust people and stay with them.
Chorus
Anyone can use their own words and actions
to truly represent their true countenance,
and that countenance is a show of one’s true nature.
