214 God Is God, Man Is Man

Verse 1

You may have opened the book of God’s words

for research or with intent to accept it,

but don’t just put it aside.

Read it all, then maybe these words

will change your mind,

depending on your motives

and degree of understanding.

Pre-chorus 1

But there’s one thing you should know:

God’s word isn’t man’s, man’s word isn’t God’s.

Man used by God isn’t God in the flesh,

God in the flesh isn’t man used by God.

In this there’s an essential difference.

Chorus

When all is said and done, God is God, man is man.

God has the essence of God, man has the essence of man.

God’s words aren’t enlightenment as told by the Holy Spirit;

apostles’ and prophets’ words are not God’s.

It’s man’s mistake to think they are.

Verse 2

If perhaps after reading these words,

you don’t accept them as God’s,

but as enlightenment man’s gained,

then you’re blinded by ignorance.

The words of God are not the same

as enlightenment man has gained.

The words of God incarnate can open up a new age,

they can open a new age.

Pre-chorus 2

They are able to guide all of mankind,

reveal mysteries, show man direction.

The enlightenment gained by man

is just a guide for practice and knowledge.

It can’t guide all men to a new age

or reveal the secrets of God.

Chorus

When all is said and done, God is God, man is man.

God has the essence of God, man has the essence of man.

God’s words aren’t enlightenment as told by the Holy Spirit;

apostles’ and prophets’ words are not God’s.

It’s man’s mistake to think they are.

Bridge

You should never mix up right and wrong,

nor high with low, nor deep with shallow,

never refute what you know is truth.

Investigate problems with the right views,

accept God’s new work and new words

from the view of His created being.

These are things those of faith must do,

or else God will eliminate you.

Chorus

When all is said and done, God is God, man is man.

God has the essence of God, man has the essence of man.

God’s words aren’t enlightenment as told by the Holy Spirit;

apostles’ and prophets’ words are not God’s.

It’s man’s mistake to think they are.
