267 God’s Judgment Made My Heart of Love for Him Purer

Verse 1

Oh, God! My flesh is disobedient,

and You chastise me and You judge me.

I rejoice in Your chastisement, judgment,

and even if You do not want me,

I’m able to see in Your judgment

Your holy and righteous disposition.

When You judge me and thereby show others

Your righteous disposition in Your judgment,

then I feel content.

Chorus

If it can express Your righteous disposition,

that it can be seen by all created beings,

and if it can make my love for You more pure,

that I may gain the likeness of one who’s righteous,

then Your judgment is good,

for such is Your gracious will;

then Your judgment is good,

for such is Your gracious will.

Verse 2

Oh God! I know that there is much in me

which still remains rebellious,

that I’m still not fit to come before You.

I wish still more by You to be judged,

whether by means of a hostile environment,

whether through great tribulations for me.

Whatever You do, to me it is precious.

Your love so profound, I lay at Your mercy,

without the slightest complaint.

Chorus

If it can express Your righteous disposition,

that it can be seen by all created beings,

and if it can make my love for You more pure,

that I may gain the likeness of one who’s righteous,

then Your judgment is good,

for such is Your gracious will.

Your judgment is good,

for such is Your gracious will.
