246 Only Pursuing the Truth Can Bring Life

Verse 1

Through faults in the past, I learn lessons.

I wish to correct my past errors.

I will still keep pursuing the truth,

though I may have setbacks and failures.

Through tests, refinement I taste God’s love,

and so my love for God grows purer.

Pre-chorus 1

God! I wish to follow You closely.

I’ll not stop pursuing truth to gain life.

I’ll keep Your way of life and advice,

bearing a resounding witness for You.

Chorus

To gain truth and life, and change dispositions,

we must accept judgment, chastisement.

To be honest, not muddle through our duty,

we must gladly accept being pruned.

To enter truth’s reality, earn God’s praise,

we must practice the truth in all things.

To be made perfect, compatible with Christ,

we must suffer much pain of trials.

Verse 2

Through God’s judgment my corruption’s cleansed.

Honesty, duty make me more human.

I seek to love God, undergo trials,

my life disposition has been changed.

I have tasted so much of God’s love,

I will love God, bear witness to Him.

Pre-chorus 2

God! I wish to follow You closely.

I’ll not stop pursuing truth to gain life.

I want more judgment so I’ll be cleansed.

Gaining truth, being saved is my honor.
