664 When God Puts Mankind’s Faith to the Test

Intro

When God tries mankind’s faith,

none bears true witness, offers his all.

Man hides, doesn’t open himself,

as if God would ravish his heart.

Verse 1

Even Job never truly stood firm in trials,

didn’t pour out sweetness while suffering.

People produce green in the warmth of springtime.

They never stay green in the cold of winter.

Pre-chorus 1

Man with his skin and bones stature

cannot fulfill God’s intentions.

Chorus

Only when His chastisement descends on mankind

will they become aware of His works.

With His doing nothing and compelling no one,

man will come to know Him and witness His works.

Verse 2

In all of humanity, there is no one,

no one that can be a model for others.

All men are basically alike, not different,

with little to set them apart from each other.

Pre-chorus 2

For this reason, even today,

men still can’t know God’s works fully.

Chorus

Only when His chastisement descends on mankind

will they become aware of His works.

With His doing nothing and compelling no one,

man will come to know Him and witness His works.

Outro

This is God’s plan.

It’s the aspect of His works that is made manifest.

It is what man should know.
