384 True Meaning of Faith in God

Intro

Though many people believe in God,

few understand what faith in God means

and what to do to be after His heart.

For they may know the term “God,”

they know phrases like “the work of God,”

but they don’t know God, and they don’t know His work.

Verse 1

So then, all those who don’t know God

are so confused in their belief.

They don’t take it seriously

’cause it’s too strange to them.

They fall short of God’s demands.

Those who don’t know Him or His work

cannot be fit for His use,

much less fulfill His desire.

Chorus

True faith in God means experiencing

God’s words and all the work He does

based on a belief that He’s holding all things

and holding all sovereignty,

so you’ll shake off your corrupt disposition,

fulfill God’s desire and come to know God.

This is the journey of faith and believing,

truly believing in God.

Verse 2

“Faith in God” means believing He’s real.

It’s the basic view of faith in God.

But it is not the true belief,

just faith with strong religious thoughts.

Some think faith is simple;

their belief is meaningless.

They can’t gain God’s approval

by walking on the wrong paths.

Chorus

True faith in God means experiencing

God’s words and all the work He does

based on a belief that He’s holding all things

and holding all sovereignty,

so you’ll shake off your corrupt disposition,

fulfill God’s desire and come to know God.

This is the journey of faith and believing,

truly believing in God.

Verse 3

Those who believe through letters don’t know

their faith has no substance.

They can’t gain God’s approval,

but still they pray for peace and grace.

We should ask ourselves today:

Is faith in God the simplest thing?

Could it be just getting His grace?

Can those who don’t know but fight Him please Him?

Chorus

True faith in God means experiencing

God’s words and all the work He does

based on a belief that He’s holding all things

and holding all sovereignty,

so you’ll shake off your corrupt disposition,

fulfill God’s desire and come to know God.

This is the journey of faith and believing,

truly believing in God, truly believing in God.
