Growing up, he saw that his mother was responsible for household chores, that his father was responsible for earning money, and that his relatives and neighbors also followed the pattern of "Men should work outside the home and women should handle domestic work." So he believed that doing housework was a sign of femininity. After finding God, the church arranged for him to do hosting duty. He thought hosting duty was for women, and that it was embarrassing for a grown man to be stuck in the kitchen. He felt stifled and repressed, and just did his duty in a perfunctory manner. It wasn't until he read God's words that he understood the true significance of his duties and finally felt a sense of liberation, and he began to devote himself to doing his hosting duty in earnest.
