955 The Aims and Principles of God’s Actions Are Clear

Verse 1

God’s changing of His ways toward the people of Nineveh

involved no delay, nothing ambiguous or vague.

It was a pure transformation from anger to tolerance,

a true revelation of God’s essence.

Chorus

God is never indecisive, God is never hesitant.

His principles and purposes are all pure and clear.

In Him there is no darkness, in Him there is no evil.

God’s deeds bear no ruse nor scheme.

Verse 2

God became irate at the wicked Ninevites;

at that time God’s anger came from His essence.

But when God bestowed tolerance on the people of Nineveh,

all God revealed was still His own essence.

Chorus

God is never indecisive, God is never hesitant.

His principles and purposes are all pure and clear.

In Him there is no darkness, in Him there is no evil.

God’s deeds bear no ruse nor scheme.

Verse 3

As man changed his ways, so God changed His attitude.

But God’s disposition still did not brook offense;

God did not change His essence of tolerance,

nor did He change His loving and merciful essence.

Chorus

God is never indecisive, God is never hesitant.

His principles and purposes are all pure and clear.

In Him there is no darkness, in Him there is no evil.

God’s deeds bear no ruse nor scheme.
