230 How Could the Bible Bring People Into the New Age?
Verse 1
Though the Bible compiles some books of the words of life,
and people can be assisted and nourished by these books,
they are still out of date, belonging to a past age.
No matter how good, they’re only for one period.
Verse 2
For God’s work keeps moving forward,
not stuck in the Age of Grace,
in Jesus’ time, when He was crucified.
These books are not suitable for the Age of Kingdom,
nor provide for the saints today, rendered obsolete.
Pre-chorus
The same for God’s creation or His work in Israel.
No matter how great, its time has passed.
Chorus
The New Testament’s words of life
have become history.
Like almanacs, how could they
bring man into the new age?
No matter how they provide people
with life or lead man to the cross,
are they not outdated and bereft of value?
Verse 3
God’s work is great, but its due time will come.
It can’t remain amidst creation or the crucifixion.
No matter how convincing the crucifixion was,
no matter how effective in defeating Satan,
work is work, ages are ages, and both must change,
for there was creation, and there will be the last days.
Chorus
The New Testament’s words of life
have become history.
Like almanacs, how could they
bring man into the new age?
No matter how they provide people
with life or lead man to the cross,
are they not outdated and bereft of value?
Bridge
So don’t blindly believe in these almanacs.
Old words will burden you
and can’t bring you into new work.
They prevent your new entry,
keeping you in old religious churches.
Wouldn’t your faith begin to regress?
Chorus
The New Testament’s words of life
have become history.
Like almanacs, how could they
bring man into the new age?
No matter how they provide people
with life or lead man to the cross,
are they not outdated and bereft of value?
