190 Judgment Awakened My Heart

Verse 1

What should I seek in my faith?

Now God’s words have awakened me.

Before, I believed in the Lord just for blessings.

I enjoyed God’s grace quite greedily.

But judgment awakened my heart.

Verse 2

I said all the right things in prayer,

but in practice did whatever I wanted.

What I did for God was for my future and fate.

The truth I did not practice.

Then judgment awakened my heart.

Pre-chorus 1

I worshiped God living in religious rites,

but in my heart, I was empty, not filled.

My corrupt disposition was not cleansed.

How could I carry out God’s will?

Chorus

God’s words are like a double-edged sword,

piercing my heart and spirit.

I’ve suffered much through trials and refinement,

my corruption being cleansed.

I’ve tasted God’s love, and I am determined

to seek and gain the truth.

I will faithfully fulfill my duty to God

to repay His love and be His true witness.

Verse 3

In my faith I’ve enjoyed God’s good grace,

but it doesn’t mean I have gained life.

Without the truth I cannot live out the reality,

saying I loved God was just a lie.

But judgment awakened my heart.

Verse 4

No matter how devout or how many good deeds,

I was a hypocrite indeed.

In duty I made deals with God,

truly cheating and opposing Him.

Then judgment awakened my heart.

Pre-chorus 2

I have seen how deeply corrupted I am.

I need His judgment and purification.

I have been judged before Christ’s seat.

And my heart has been awakened.

Chorus

God’s words are like a double-edged sword,

piercing my heart and spirit.

I’ve suffered much through trials and refinement,

my corruption being cleansed.

I’ve tasted God’s love, and I am determined

to seek and gain the truth.

I will faithfully fulfill my duty to God

to repay His love and be His true witness.
