Carlos Gil was a pastor who served the Lord in a church for over twenty years, shepherding a congregation of nearly a hundred believers. Around 2017, he noticed the church was becoming increasingly desolate. Believers were dozing off during gatherings, their faith had grown cold, and the gatherings had become mere formalities. He found that he even had nothing to preach. To try and change things, he led the believers in memorizing scripture, fasting and praying, and keeping vigils for days on end. However, these efforts bore no fruit, leaving him increasingly confused and worried. Faced with the church's desolation, he constantly prayed and sought answers.
