English Christian Song | "God Endures Great Humiliation"

October 27, 2021

Intro

God is holy and righteous.

Even though He was born in a filthy land

and lives with filthy people,

as Jesus lived with sinners

in the Age of Grace,

is His work not for the sake of mankind,

so man can gain salvation?

Verse 1

Two thousand years ago, He lived with sinners.

That was for the sake of redemption.

If not to save mankind, why would He return

to the flesh a second time in the land of demons?

Pre-chorus

And why would He live with those

deeply corrupted by Satan?

Chorus

All this can only mean

God’s love for all mankind is selfless as can be.

The humiliation He endures is great to the extreme.

Surely you should know that

all His suffering is for you and your destiny.

Verse 2

For the sake of all mankind’s survival,

He chose birth in a land that’s filthy,

and He put Himself through every possible disgrace.

Is His work not all real and practical?

Bridge

Though all people malign Him and say He sits with sinners,

though all the people mock Him for living with the filthy,

He still gives selflessly, yet mankind still rejects Him.

Chorus

All this can only mean

God’s love for all mankind is selfless as can be.

The humiliation He endures is great to the extreme.

Surely you should know that

all His suffering is for you and your destiny.

Verse 3

Ask yourself about the way God suffers,

isn’t it much more than you must go through?

Doesn’t the work He does come at greater cost

than any price you possibly could pay?

Chorus

All this can only mean

God’s love for all mankind is selfless as can be.

The humiliation He endures is great to the extreme.

Surely you should know that

all His suffering is for you and your destiny.
