The Facts of the CCP's Tyrannical Persecution of Christians, Ep. 12: Church Leader Tortured to Death 9 Days After His Arrest
April 14, 2026
In 2020, even as the COVID-19 pandemic rapidly spread across mainland China and the people struggled amid panic and unease, the CCP showed complete disregard for whether they lived or died. On the contrary, it intensified its suppression and persecution of The Church of Almighty God, launching a three-year "Total War" campaign (September 2020 to December 2023). Following this, many Christians from The Church of Almighty God were arrested and subjected to brutal torture. Some were even persecuted to death. According to incomplete statistics, at least nine Christians were persecuted to death in 2021. Du Mingwei (pseudonym), a Christian from The Church of Almighty God in Sichuan Province, was one of them. Du Mingwei had always been healthy, cheerful, and optimistic, yet he was tortured to death by the police just nine days after his arrest. The police, however, claimed "he hanged himself using a phone charging cable." Is this believable? No one believes it. What exactly did Du Mingwei experience during the last nine days of his life? Recently, our reporter interviewed a Christian who was arrested alongside him, as well as his family. Through their accounts, we will uncover the truth concealed by the CCP.
