Xu Ming used to be a preacher in a house church. In the fall of 1998, he accepted Almighty God and began preaching the gospel. On December 23, 1999, Xu Ming was reported for preaching the gospel and arrested by CCP police. To try to force him to disclose church information and renounce his faith, the police violently beat and tortured him, and ordered inmates to abuse and torment him for 40 days. His left calf was severely injured. Afterward, Xu Ming was paraded on a stage at the local market, where he was denounced, put on display, and humiliated, and his three-year sentence in a labor camp was announced. In May 2000, Xu Ming escaped from the labor camp, marking the beginning of his life on the run, which has lasted for 26 years so far. In June 2025, he took a risk to return home. Soon after, the police showed up to search the house and ask about his whereabouts, forcing him to flee again that very night. Today, Xu Ming still doesn't dare return home. This episode features Xu Ming's account of the persecution he endured and the impact that 26 years on the run has had on him and his family.
