The Facts of the CCP's Tyrannical Persecution of Christians, Ep. 7 An Exclusive Interview With a Christian Released From Prison: Holding Fast to Her Faith Through Attempts at Forced Conversion
February 19, 2026
In September 2020, the CCP launched a three-year "Total War" to eradicate The Church of Almighty God. Shandong Province was one of the provinces where the arrest and persecution of Christians was particularly severe. Following the implementation of the "Total War," local authorities launched multiple rounds of coordinated arrests. Around December 26, in the city of Jinan, Shandong Province, over 100 Christians from The Church of Almighty God were arrested in a coordinated sweep. They were then detained at a drug rehabilitation center in the city, where over 70 police officers and specialized brainwashing personnel subjected them all to detention, interrogation by torture, and violent brainwashing. They were subjected to forced ideological conversion in an attempt to coerce them into abandoning their faith. Some of the Christians were sentenced to prison for holding to their faith. Now, more than five years have passed, and all of these Christians have been released from prison. In this report, we interviewed Chen Hui, one of them who was released from prison not long ago, after completing her sentence. Through her account, we learned about the persecution through forced conversion attempts that took place years ago.
